That's not the flap system making the noise, rather an air driven hydraulic pump in the centre hydraulic system that kicks in when there's high demand.
I don’t know why but this made me cry, it made me think of all the good trips I had. Vietnam Sydney or Melbourne. I’m also really obsessed with planes and just to see that smooth landing, full flaps and speed brakes. You have made my day. Thank you! Edit: P.S Also the outdo music is so nice too!
As a former Egghead (what my friends call an Engineer), I have always requested a window seat by the wings when I travel. I love watching the flaps. What a nerd, eh! lol!
It's so interesting to see the wing kinda rip open lol. Reveals all the hydraulic lines and the actuator for the inboard aileron is clearly visible in this video. First time I remember seeing that was a few years back when I was 6 or 7. Thought the wing was about to rip itself apart cuz I could see the runway through the flap tracts once the ground spoilers had deployed.
This has to be the most beautiful landing sequence I've ever seen. Showing all the mechanics of in-flight movement like this is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
The landing feels very fast. I once experienced that last tear aboard Emirates. Scary as hell. I was sat at the back of that B777-300ER. I'll never forget it. 😂 The touchdown took forever!
Thanks! Very informative. Im a big flight sim fan, albeit still a noob though. I also havent completely mastered landing 100% just yet. Your video actually showed me where I go wrong in terms of flap and spoiler control. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
If they Wright Bros were to see this, they won’t believe what we human beings has achieved. They would have heart attacks if they were to look at the cockpit. It is amazing how we take to the sky as comfortable as we are on land.
But fundamentally different. Boeing have always elected to use tracked flaps on all their commercial transports, whereas MDC elected to go with hinged Fowler flaps on theirs. the tracked flap approach also provides additional wing area but higher operating loads, whereas the hinged flap is simpler and thus lower in maintenance costs.
That spoiler -second out in the second set, -why doesn't it move in unison with the others, or deflect at the same extension angle of the others? (10:30). In fact, why aren't they all extending at the same time? Details, I know. JDLR (Just Doesn't Look Right) Call the systems chief. PS: nice catch! Love that Geneva countryside! It's on my bucket list, and of course I'll be flying in a Swiss 777 :)
Ronald- Thank you. I'm not seeing it in other similar 777 videos. Which begs the question, Since this is a new jet, and if it is an anomaly, how did it get by QA? Oh, and I see that now on another Swissair 777 video. HB-JNA -Maybe the same bird. I'm sure there is some technical excuse, but I'm not buying it, and yes, I am a retired pilot, still passionate about aviation, especially Boeing and Gulfstream. Airbus can bite me. :)
That's normal, #4 and #11 Spoiler Actuator are different from other outboard spoilers, in fact, they are operated by cable rather than wire, and can only be fully retracted or fully extended.
The first things to open are called the speed brake(s). Their purpose is to create more drag on the upper half of the wing, which in turn, slows the plane down.
Put it this way. A lot. I don't know for sure the exact value, but it's quite a lot. Then again tho, the flight spoilers only deploy at a low angle, so there isn't too much force applied.
I’m missing something about full flaps or what? Title made me think something fancy gonna happen? I thought 98.79% of the time you land with flaps full unless it’s windy and you use flaps 3(Airbus boy here don’t judge me Boeing fans) or you have spare runway length!

Such a beautiful, complex piece of engineering.
I really like the whirring noise the flaps make while in operation . It's so awesome
That's not the flap system making the noise, rather an air driven hydraulic pump in the centre hydraulic system that kicks in when there's high demand.
and i thought i was the only one who likes the sound of flaps..lol
I could not believe just how far out those go.. when I flew last May. I thought they were going to break off lol
The A350 has a very similar E Pitch Note to the flaps!
it’s even better on the -200,-200er, and -300
I don’t know why but this made me cry, it made me think of all the good trips I had. Vietnam Sydney or Melbourne. I’m also really obsessed with planes and just to see that smooth landing, full flaps and speed brakes. You have made my day. Thank you!

I thought it was only me that got that feeling. Nice to know someone else feels this too
here too.
Bruh why do you have to cry about it’s just a flaps sound
@@DragonYT682 Dude u flown in a plane only twice in ur life sh up
As a former Egghead (what my friends call an Engineer), I have always requested a window seat by the wings when I travel. I love watching the flaps. What a nerd, eh! lol!
Me too. Always :D
no-one calls them that ah
Yo same bro

I like the spoilers.
Love the 777 flaps sound! So soothing.
So relaxing, I miss flying :(
Same here buddy same here
DR. LOL7 yeah bro !
Me too 😭
Same.
Same
that is one clean looking wing.
Such a smooth aircraft - Highly enjoyed watching the flaps in action!! Huge like mate!!
The best and most complete real time flap action video i have ever seen.
I found it very interesting and thank you for posting, very impressive!
Thanks a lot!
Interesting to see the detailed aircraft instrument information display on the seat.
Probably the cleanest wing I’ve ever seen (especially for the 777)
Because this is a brand new airplane

The graphics of this flight sim is incredible even the sound plugins for this aircraft is mind blowing
FS 2020 :D
I was delighted to hear the flight attendant speaking in French, despite not understanding anything in the language, I find it very beautiful.
Great video. The 777, 767 and 747 have the best looking wings out there and the flaps are just stunning.
The landing feels very fast. I once experienced that last tear aboard Emirates.

The best seat on the plane 👌🏿 just to see the control surfaces working
Nice video, cool natural sounds of the plane mechanics and great detail of wing inside! thumbs up! Danke Merci
That a supercritical wing design and the flap design is quite extensive. Nice video. Thanks
Nice video, that was a smooth landing.
Many thanks for the close up of the flap mechanism
+victor.Leslie August Pikington August pilkington welcome ;)
Really awesome footage!!!!!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I can’t wait to ride the 777x and see how large the wing and engine will be
Me too!
Can't wait to see the wing of new air queen
And how it sounds like 🎶
What a lovely smooth landing
This is why I always sit by the wings
Excellent to have a heavy between ZRH and GVA.. excellent shot..
Really awesome video mate! Liked!
A brand new Boeing 777! Nice! ✈️✈️
Take off, and landing... Best part of a flight... At least for me!
What a smooth landing !! Master Captain !! Good Job Sir !
Wing is Clean*
Nice video
I like the Boeing 777 flap sounds

they wouldn't believe stupid Ohio had the audacity to claim the birthplace of aviation
Wow..vry smooth landing
From Zurich to Berne with a 777? Nice!
cleanest 777 wing i've seen
Thats because the aircraft was brand new
Those hydraulic pumps make such a sweet melody
So smooth.
smooth touch down brialiant
the wing looks so clean!
Outstanding video of this landing sequence!!
+ccwalker050 thank you!!
Alot of energy to get rid of upon touchdown..they seem to let it ride out a bit before going to reverse thrust..what a machine
Very short (demo-) flight indeed. Thanks for sharing!
+Martin R. Welcome ;) my goal was more to see the plane from the inside - and who wouldn't fly a heavy if possible? xD
Nice landing
Clean flap 👌
Die 777 wird so gut wie immer mit full
flaps gelandet, ist also nix besonderes ;-) schönes Video denoch!
Absolutely beautiful.
thanks!
Fascinating to watch!
The only other aircraft with huge wing/flap surfaces similar to this is the DC10/MD11. Beautiful aircraft. GREAT capture
+Sir Christopher what about the 747 and A380! That wing is massive!
I was looking more specifically at the inboard flap sets. True of the 47-8's and the 380. Massive it is.
Thankyou for the explanation. I appreciate the knowledge and info.!!!
All of Boeing's widebody's have a set up like this. Even the 747-8.
Waawwwww it's very smooth landing
Thanks you, amazing landing
Those are some serious speed brakes or spoilers!😃
Great landing footage at hagen daaz airport
The landing was the best
Very full flaps!!!
very helpful for building my wings of my 138 stud long Lego Boeing 777-200er Austrian airlines
10:23 Perfect landing.
8:35 FINALLY 🎶
Smooth landing
beautiful approach and landing !
Wow! Really cool! 👏👏❤✔
Awesome 😎
Wow, that is the most flaps used I've ever saw.
Wing is so clean
75 years ago in Berlin they were spotting Lancaster's and B 17s
I miss flying too. It is the best!!!
I like my flaps perpendicular to the runway-like the 777-300ER's.

JDLR (Just Doesn't Look Right) Call the systems chief.
PS: nice catch! Love that Geneva countryside! It's on my bucket list, and of course I'll be flying in a Swiss 777 :)
Looks like a little mis-rigging on the outer spoilers, resulting in the differing angle in deployment.
Ronald- Thank you. I'm not seeing it in other similar 777 videos. Which begs the question, Since this is a new jet, and if it is an anomaly, how did it get by QA?

Thanks Dennis. That sounds like a reasonable explanation. Still looks odd though. I'm still left curious as to why it would be designed like that.
Joe Townsend
This is kind of a sporty approach and landing!
How long it takwa time from Zurich to geneve
What registration is it cause idk why is the wing so clean on this 777
HB-JNA. That was the very first Swiss 777 and this flight was taken in the first Month of service (brand new plane back in 2016)
great post
what do you call the first thing the pilot does on the wing? the first opening on the wing at the beginning of the video
The first things to open are called the speed brake(s). Their purpose is to create more drag on the upper half of the wing, which in turn, slows the plane down.
Anyone knows how much hydraulic force is needed to keep the flight spoilers up like that at that airspeed
Put it this way. A lot. I don't know for sure the exact value, but it's quite a lot. Then again tho, the flight spoilers only deploy at a low angle, so there isn't too much force applied.
What’s that sound right before the 777 lands.
super nice!

fine filming video..
Nice Video
Can any one explain why one spoiler panel wasnt extended all the way ? On 10:33
I’ve tried to find an answer to that but can’t find one via google or anywhere else ; all I can say is that it is a feature of all B777’s.
Awesome video
visite Campos Dos Goytacazes RJ Brasil
Perfect
Someone educate me, Is full flaps to scrub off speed? to act as an airbrake effectively?
Flaps increase lift and let the plane fly slower while staying in the air
I’m missing something about full flaps or what? Title made me think something fancy gonna happen? I thought 98.79% of the time you land with flaps full unless it’s windy and you use flaps 3(Airbus boy here don’t judge me Boeing fans) or you have spare runway length!
dam more flaps than the play boy mansion .think about it .
what type of flaps are these? slotted?
I wonder why the spoilers on the far side has the actuator on each of the spoilers as for the spoilers closer to you don't have them
The spoilers do have the actuators on the near side too , but you don't see them , they are under
I'm working for Boeing , I see these planes everyday
Those things that you see on the far side are called the canoes , they cover the acuators
Thank you
nice
Was that a baseball field at 14:58?? Excellent post
Yes
Where I think dat was the end
I just see a black screen
I am the wingman in every passage plane.
This is 777 line number 1363 in case anyone is curious!!
I built that plane . Got hired by Boeing on line 1000 , now we are working on line 1644 , but I'm not a mechanic any moore .
How to know line number
The baseball field at 10:04
That's pretty butter
Is that angle normal?
xD it is
Hai all I have one doubt.for what the flap opened
The flaps allow for slower flying speeds for take-off, approach and landing.
Bonne journée
Is this a regular flight?
yes sure.
But the aircraft type 777 is unusual. It was for crew training when they got it new in their fleet before going on longer flights.
