Awesome tutorial! The HSL adjustment makes so much more sense now and is so much more useful than I thought. Thank you!!
Thank you Lee 👍
I'm new to affinity, I've played a bit with HSL but couldn't really figure out how to properly use the 4 points. It wasn't very intuitive for me, or maybe I'm a bit slower on those things lol
Thank you for the video, it was great and informative, also useful to get a more natural skin tone I think. I'm going to check some other videos too :)
Glad I could help!
You carefully walked me through, holding my hand. Now I’ll see how well I’ve learned. Thank you indeed.
I hope it helped. Thanks for taking the time to comment 😃
Hue did a really good job
HaHa - very funny 😂
Now I officially don't need Photoshop ever again. Thanks for this tutorial. I really needed it .
You are welcome. Affinity is the way to go 😃
I can finally use this tool! Thank you for including all 3 zones of color change in this one demo, and a clear explanation of every little control-handle adjustment. ⭐x5
You are very welcome 😀
Thanks for another informative tutorial. I learn something each time I watch one of your tutorials.
Cheers jack.
OMG. The best HSL tutorial ever. Thank you for sharing. Liked and subscribed.
Thank you very much. Welcome aboard.
Great demo of a very powerful tool, thanks!
You are very welcome Steve.
Can u make a tutorial on changing the white beard to black when the hair is very tiny (1-2 days hair), without affecting skin? I didn't find this tutorial anywhere.
You never know.
Very good tutorial, like all yours. It works perfectly with any color, except white and black. I suppose that for these colors other techniques will have to be used. Thank you.
Thank you very much. You care correct. Black and white are a little more involved. I will create a video on it sometime.
Is there a trick to using this method on the iPad? The adjustment circles seem more finicky on the iPad. Love your tutorials 👍🏾
I'm sorry Mel. I have no idea. I haven't tried Affinity with iPad.
Great tutorial, Scott. This works well when you have such a different colour for the item you want to change. If there was less difference between the dress and her skin, for instance, I think this technique might not be so effective.
Cheers Steven. You are of course correct. This would be the same for any software. There comes a point where, if the colour difference is not large enough then you would have to resort to masking.
Nicely explained. Good video
Thank you.
You are welcome!
Thanks again Scott for a brilliant tutorial!
You are very welcome Meyou.
Great tutorial Scott. Is there a way to add a custom color aside from picking from within the shift slide?
Cheers James. I don't think there is.
Thanks Scott, it is really a great tutorial. Only now I know the power of HSL adjustment. Has learnt a lot from you. Thanks again.
Thank you very much 👍
You make this sooooo much easier! I'm subscribing to your channel!
Welcome aboard 😀
Great tutorial - this is a real upgrade from the tool prior to 1.7. I suppose in this example you could have added some green to the shadows, but regardless it worked really well.
Cheers.
Another great tutorial. Do you know if its possible to do star reduction in affinity photo like in photoshop?
Thank you. I have never tried star reduction but I can't see why not.
Thanks Scott. Im learning lots from your tutorials!
You are welcome.
Very good tutorial - thanks
You are welcome!
Wonderful video thanks a lot
Thank you too!
Very powerful! Thank you! 👍
Thank you Jules 😃
Very clear. Thanks a lot!
You are welcome!
Brilliant!!! Powerfull tool !
Thank you very much. It is a great tool.
anyone know why the ranges may not work sometimes? It's worked only sometimes for me
I've not seen that one. They always seem to work for me.
@@ScottWilliamsPhotography I figured it out! im going from the develop persona as 32bit. needa convert profile to 16 or 8bit then it works! thanks for the response anyway! :D
Glad you got it working.
Thank you very much!!
You are very welcome Samuel.
Awesome thank you
Thank you very much.
Amazing tutorial. Thank you so much. There are other tutorials out there that make this process unnecessarily complicated. Your’s the best on the subject. 👍
You're very welcome!
How to use it for grey backgroung?
It should be the same but easier as grey is not effected by the hue or saturation sliders.
@@ScottWilliamsPhotography But I wanted to change the color of the gray background
Great tutorial, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Congratulations, finally a complete and detailed explanation of the HSL function!
Glad to hear that!
Great Tutorial and very practical and simple way to change the colors of an object. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you. You are welcome.
Show me more of what Affinity can do. Thanks
Will do..
Should have been showed - but thanks
No problem. I'm pleased to have shown you something 😃
Simple and clear tutorial! Thanks a lot Scott! I'm going to practice....
Thank you very much.
you are fantastically good in teaching! i have seen other taffinity tutorial and they was far away from you as clearness
Thank you very much Alessandro.
Again great tutorial.
Thank you very much.
a good video
Thank you.
What if the dress was black or white? Then how would you recolor it?
That will be the subject for another video.
Wow! That was really interesting to watch. Thanks.
You are very welcome.
Thx
You are welcome.
a great tutorial. very informational and clear. thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for a great tutorial. I would suggest to use separate layers for each modification. This gives finer and better control over the adjustments.
Thank you Dennis. I can't see how using separate layers would give finer control over the adjustments. The fineness of the adjustments are determined by the fidelity of the sliders within the tool.
ty sir
You are welcome.
Scott, Thanks Very Much for this useful tutorial!
You are very welcome Bob.
one of the best tutorials i have ever watch! thank you.
Thank you very much!
Brilliant!
Thank you Herbert 😃
