Nice job. Need to do this myself. A few questions. How long does it take to do, roughly? Did you remove the speaker shelves? Did you remove the sunroof or just leave it slid back? When you refit the winder handle afterwards, do you have to adjust the sunroof mechanism itself to ensure it shuts properly/evenly, or does it line up itself just fine? TIA
Hi mate thanks 😊 For me it took 3 days totalling about 7 hours but I had to stop start with the weather so didn't help. I didn't remove the speaker shelf on mine just undone the rear quarter panels and was enough to slide it out. The sunroof stayed on the car you just remove the interior panel that connected to the sunroof itself. Wide the sunroof back.. pull the panel down a bit to unclipped it at the front the push it back into the cavity of the roof. It's a bit fiddly but take your time and it will come out. The sunroof handle has to be reattached but I closed the sunroof and then screwed in the handle afterwards. Hope this helps mate. Allow plenty of time but not to hard a job.
@@downnoutmotors Thanks that’s very helpful. Last question, I promise. I take it you cut the hole for the sunroof with a bit of a lip left. Undo the screws for the sunroof mechanism, and tuck the material between the mechanism and the roof, then refit the screws? You didn’t cover that bit. TIA
@Aircooledflat4bug yep leave about half inch to fold over. Use adhesive spray to hold it in then fit the sunroof interior trim to help hold it in place
@@downnoutmotors sorry to hijack, to be clear, take interior trim/seal off on sunroof, cut back masterial, stick on with adhesive then trim goes back on right? :)
@Goopsta yes that correct.. dont cut the sunroof excess fabric back to far. Leave a good inch. When removing the sunroof seal be careful not to Bend or kink it unless you have a new one to fit.
