    Very informative Video I had the same mixer and it used to have a buzzing noise when ever I plugged in the usb to the mixer I used and output from my DDJ-400 headphone jack to a stereo input on the mixer and a output from the Dj Console to another input on the mixer with left and right posit pan on the 2 mixer inputs so I could use it as a Mono Split Option when mixing tracks { So the main mix came through the right headphone and the cued track---The next track would come through the left channel on the headphones } I also had an output from the mixer to the amp / Speakers. I replaced all cables with new ones and took the output to amp and speakers out but I still got a buzzing noise whenever the USB was plugged into the laptop.

    Wish i saw this video before I went and got the 1202. Because i was hoping the 1202 had the built in mix minus. Anyway i had a 204hd interface. And i remember i could send and receive audio via the usb no latency on the 204hd interface. So what i did was to unplug the 1202 usb and send the audio from the 1202 to the 204hd via quater inch jacks. So now the interface is my main source to get audio to and from my computer via usb. I can now listen my play back straight away. I can also do my live stream. And i can also still record. Am will try your way and see if it makes it even more easier. One thing i notice is the 1202 is not 24 bit its actually 16 bit. While the 204hd is 24 bit. So i still would prefer using my audio interface 204hd as my usb send to laptop. Thanks for sharing your idea using the rca set up. Am trying this like i said today

      If I setup the mixer with vocals, guitar, and bass and then connected a headphone amp like the Behringer HA400 to Phones for in-ear monitoring - is it possible to simply connect a laptop or mp3 player to the mixer and play a backing track at the same time for our band to play along with? I don't want to record (yet). I am just getting familiar with this equipment. Thank you! I watched your demo video and now see I can simply use some Free DAWs software to play the music (rather than a phone or mp3 player). Thanks again -

    A valuable observation there RS9 👍
    Expands the Utility of the Q802 a long way.
    I've had one for years to use as an Aux mixer and never really used the USB until recently when I wanted to run Ableton along side Studio One 5 in Windows.
    By using the Q802 USB as a secondary output interface I could take the Ableton output and then feed the Q802 into my main 8 channel interface (old Firepod)
    Et voila !
    2 DAWs in Windows, sync'ed via MTC

      Conversely, bringing web audio into a DAW for study, conferencing, remote collaboration in real-time etc
      I got around the Studio One Windows version obstacle to employing a second output interface.
      Voxengo do an app called 'Recorder' which, as well as Recording can output to the port of your choice.
      Put it on the Master bus and Robert is your Mother's Sister's live-in lover ...
      It's old skool 32-bit but jBridger sorts that out.

    So is what's getting sent to the DAW for tracking the clean mic signal or is it the signal having been processed by the mixer? For context of what I'm looking into this for, I'll copy and paste what I asked on another video:
    I've recently been having newfound issues with major monitoring latency that Presonus hasn't been able to help solve (I use both Studio One and a Presonus interface). Would you be able to run a line into one XLR then run that signal back out and into a second XLR for monitoring? For example, say I were tracking vocals and I used the first XLR for my recording and then used the second XLR for the compression and EQ to get a basic mix to monitor myself on. If so, I think that would be great for recording vocals
    That being said, is there a way to disable that button that would cause the feedback and potentially damage the device?

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quick answer is no. All inputs are summed to the main bus.

  • @fredericsicsic9391
    @fredericsicsic9391 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I've read that in the 802s model, if no source is connected to line in 7 and 8, the knob for 7 and 8 controls the input level of the USB port.
    In the 802USB model, there's no line for 7 and 8, but it has two equivalent inputs labeled "Stereo Aux Return" and the input level for this line is controlled by a dedicated knob labeled "Aux Return". I'm wondering if not connecting anything to line 7 and 8, the "Aux Return" knob performs the same function as in the 802s model, meaning it can control the input level of the USB port like the 802s.
    I appreciate your prompt response in advance.

    • @RecordingStudio9

    Hi! Thank you very much for this video. I don't know very much about audio equipment, but I have a Behringer Xenyx Q 1202 USB which I believe was made in October 2016. Beginning your video with the explanation of what the Q802USB was very helpful. What would you say is the main difference between the two machines? Would your fix work as well on the Q1202USB? It was also helpful to hear that multi tracking is different from having a multichannel USB.
    So far I have mostly used the Q1202USB for connecting to an powered speaker for public performance, but would like to use it more for recording. Do you have an opinion of its use for recording a number of musicians? Also, I have been trying to use jamkazam and have found that my latency tends to stay right around 11.4 ms. I am using it with a Mac, with Catalina 10.15.7; Input and Output USB Audio CODEC, both are at 44.1 KHz, 2 Channel 16 bit Integer. Is there anything about the Q1202USB that makes it difficult to reduce the latency? Whether I'm doing jamming for recording through jamkazam, would your fix be helpful for reducing that latency? Thank you very much for any suggestions.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the zero latency trick will work with Q1202USB. There is not much you can do with the latency as the USB A/D and D/A converters are cheap off the shelf ICs.

    Thank for the great video. Could you, please tell me: can I get the mixer to go out the control room channel/headphone jack and the main out channel at the same time? My main purpose for getting this would be to split the sound coming of my other mixers sub-mix. I want to send stereo channels to a set of speakers and one to my headphone amp. That would also give me a quick master volume knob for each stereo set. I would also be using it to get some nice Pre-EQ shaping and color from the British EQ before I send it into the dry inputs of my other mixer. So, I am not concerned so much with using it as a USB interface. I have that covered with my Soundcraft Mixer. Again, I just need to know if I can get the "main out channel" and "control room/headphone jack channel" going out at the same time? I think I read a review that said it doesn't work that way so I'd like to be sure. Any insight would be most appreciated. Thanks again.

    I'm setting up a singing game on my computer called UltraStar. Players sing duets and they are scored based on how closely they can match the pitch. The game needs to receive the input from the two microphones separately and then players need to hear the song audio mixed with the output from both microphones. How can I set this up using this mixer? Will the same setup you've described work? Also, is there a difference with the newer 802S model?

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This mixer will not work for what you need. Unless you’re sending the mixer output to a mono speakers. Reason is, to send each mic separately, you need to pan one left and right.
      This maybe fine if each singer is standing in front of one speaker to hear themselves.
      Hope that makes sense.

    • @scottguthart1258
      @scottguthart1258 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're right, I didn't anticipate that the mics would split between the two speakers. It did work for us though, and most people didn't notice. Another question: I want to try out a pair of audiophile headphones with my laptop. Can I use this mixer to amplify the sound to my headphones and serve a similar function as headphone amplifiers? If so, how best to do that?

      Don't need any extra connections. Just press down the "To Main Mix" button, this will mix the microphone with the USB playback from PC and return back to the PC for streaming.

    is it okay if i use condenser mic on XLR Input 1 then a dynamic mic on TS Input 2 semultaneously?

      @RecordingStudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, 99% of dynamic microphones ignore and work fine with +48v Phantom. Check the dynamic mic docs to be 100% sure

    Many thanks. . . your Behringer videos have been really helpful. However, I have a similar question to Neal Caffrey. . . . I'm using my Behringer Q802USB for Zoom lessons with a mic and a keyboard plugged through it. I can either hear myself and the keyboard (but not the student) or vice versa. Would this method using the RCA leads solve this issue?

    I tried this trick with my Behringer Q502USB and it does not work. Is there something different about the Q502 vs. the Q802 that would prevent this trick from working? I was really hoping this would do the trick! thanks

    I am trying a different setup. I am planning to do a live streaming (say FB or TH-cam etc). During the broadcast i may use karaoke tracks in the computer as well. So what i want is to hear both the main mix + computer audio to my headphones and send main mix+computer audio as one out to the live stream through computer itself. Is is possible?

    Thanks for this video. WIll this work on the Xenyx X1002usb as well? I believe they are the same, only difference is the number of channels I think. Please advise. Thank you in advance.

    This is a very nice trick. Thanks for sharing.
    My need is a bit different. I want to use my iPad as effects processor (have loads of auv3 effects in the iPad) in Live performance.
    What should I do after I connect my iPad with USB? (Typically I use AUM as DAW in iPad)

      I don't believe it's possible what you want to achieve with this mixer.

    Seemed to work using 6.35mm jacks from the main mix outputs to RCA plugs for the two-track input port too (that was the cable I had to hand). Thanks!

    Hey. Excellent work with this video! As I understand it, it's possible to make another walk-around to listen to the DAW and record at the same time.
    What happens if instead of looping the RCA ports, I plug the main output and the ctrl room output into to the same speaker system. I will get the audio signal from the main mix and from the usb as well right?

      I highly advise against connecting two outputs into one input. You’re likely to damage one or all devices.

    Hi good job.Thanks for sharing this valued info. I've configured as your explanation and it apparently worked fine.I have a question: If I plugin 2 mics and one guitar, do I manage to handle 3 separately tracks on DAW (Reaper)?.

      Thanks.
      It's only a simple 2 channel, stereo USB interface of the main mix, so no.
