Not only that, but also the fact that Boo is invulnerable to throw damage, so you just have to assume this is the intended primary mechanic for Boo. Throw that hamster!!!

fun fact, Minsc WAS going to be a companion at act 1, he was cut for time I guess (also a halfling werewolf, explaining why there are so many ¨I'm way too big¨ holes)

He was meant to be one of the thralls digging the mind flayer out after the crash! The parasite was making him see it as dynaheir! You'd recruit him by snapping him out of it :) he was planned to be romanceable too, he has a placeholder dialogue file for selecting him as your partner at the tiefling party 🥲 they took everything from us....I've datamined all his completed dialogue from ea and his and boos models on my Twitter but TH-cam didn't like me posting the thread link 💔

Phalur aluve will help boo damage by adding 1d4 thunder to each hit. Cleric can aid and shield of faith to help suvivabiltiy. Same with zevlors gloves gives him blade ward on heal, as well as volos ring will give bless. Best of luck!
It's unfortunately too late at this point because Minthara was defeated at the grove but her Brand giving extra movement and fire damage from a bonus action could've potentially been a great buff to dps as well
I assume you already know about this but: Spells like aid and heroe's feast do 100% work on minions. In my own runs I'd always throw it on "the homies" (aka the four ghouls) and it gets them to like 60+hp. Combine that with warding bond and good healing and you should have a boo that won't be going down ever.
If Boo is like other familiars I believe pact the chain warlock at level 5 should grant an extra attack to him.
Don't forget, you can throw hill giant strength on boo for 10 turns of 21 str. :)
Hill giant potion last until the next long rest, not just 10 turns.
Hill Giant elixir when drank is until long rest. When thrown it is 10 turns. Don't think Boo can drink an elixir, so thrown it is.
I like a challenge run TH-camr who prioritizes fun. Some are just obsessed with making it difficult and finishing as fast as possible

You might want to consider changing Minsc to a Pact of the Chain Warlock so that at 5th Level Boo can get an Extra attack. Also IDK if you’re doing so already but casting Aid can increase everyone’s (including Boo) max Hitpoints for just a little more survivability
You don't hear sentences like "Then I beat her to death with a hamster" in video's about games, very often

I've seen it said online (haven't personally confirmed) that thrown Boo is eligible to proc Sneak Attack. Rogue (maybe Rogue/Zerker) might be the move for Minsc.

Love the run, great idea. You should look into using Aid for Boo to hopefully keep him alive longer.
Also, if you apply the Chilled condition followed by the Wet condition, then the enemy will be Frozen and become vulnerable to Bludgeoning damage. You can get the Cold Snap dagger to apply Chilled on miss and then Wet them after for the debuff. Coldbrim Hat applies Encrusted with Frost which freezes them after 7 stacks, could use true strike to stack that up and get the vulnerability that way. Theres a second hat in sorcerous sundries after you get the one from balthy so that might scale well enough in the end game. Not sure if armor of agathys is allowed but that could be another method of stacking chill for freezing. Since you cant cast it on boo it woild have to be on minsc and idk if that invalidates the rules of the run or not. Fire shield could also work if thats a valid strat.
For act 2 and onward you might need phalar aluve for the damage riders. Idk if they will affect Boo though, if so then thats probably not an option. Tbh most of the normal damage rider stuff might be out if they affect him.
Amulet of Branding will let you do a bit more damage for one attack and obviously luck of the far realms will maximize that.
13:50 Game crashed on me recently too, was raiding the grove and it got stuck on Minthara's turn. Game was freezing every few seconds, and it was using 20-25gb of ram fluctuating. I guess it was karma for my evil run, but even the crashes in this game are rather tame. Tough run, best of luck

I’ve had Minsc for a bit but I don’t really use him so I had no idea you could do this w Boo or that Boo was so tough compared to to other familiars! I’m still not going to use him but that’s really neat!

warding bond quadruples the damage boo can take before dying. It halfs the damage because of resistance, then halfs that damage again to the warder.
Clearly you just need to find a way to coat boo in oils of sharpness.
it is always awesome to see you cheese your way through BG3, very DnD soul - kinda want to see you beat grym in one of these runs without the forge hammer just to see what turbo cheese you can figure out

The Wolf Heart just got buffed in patch 6 to now works with unarmed melee attacks which should work with bite.

Also for Boo buffs i recommend Phalar Aluve for a lil more bite & throw damage if you haven't already, and speed pots for more bites

Hey! So yes, I will but I'm going to wait until I'm ready to completely finish it before I start again. I want to do one video to take it from where it is now until the end of act 2, then another video for act 3. And I want to do them back to back. I have everything planned out until the end of act 2 right now but haven't finished planning out until the end of act 3.

If you use Phalar Aluve and cast shriek, all enemies in range will take an additional d4 of thunder damage on a hit. You can get Phalar Aluve in the Underdark in Act 1. So this should give you some more damage when doing improvised melee weapon attacks.
Oooh I actually picked up the sword in case I needed better saving throws, but I'll try it out for the thunder on hit, that's a great idea!!

That barter window drag items over exploit was great, you’d get a shit ton of gold the vendor would get even more gold everyone was just swimming in gold. One time in act 3 I was doing it with high level scrolls at sorcerous sundries and by the end Roland had 200 k and I had even more… good times

In the zyntranim hideout you can get a pair of gloves that give summons resistance to all damage except physic but could turn them mad.

Just tested this exploit today, still works: give backpack to vendor, put all items from vendor you want in backpack, close backpack window, switch to non-trading party character, double-click backpack with them, close trade window, press space to Loot All the now open backpack
brother just cast aid with a cleric from withers +5 max hp per long rest by act 3 you can pretty much double boos health with aid

You know, in my honor mode I got the elder brain down to 1 hp at the end of the round. If I had boo I would of had orpheus chuck boo at the elder brain. But alass no, I had to shape shift into a displaser and it glitched thinking that orpheus was dead.
You might be able to give boo a second attack by making minsc a pact of the chain warlock since the game counts him as a familiar

Does pact of the chain from warlock affect boo? It affects familiars, but not sure if Boo counts. If it does count 5 levels in warlock with pact of the chain will allow boo to do two attacks instead of one
Since the newest patch, the wolf barb buff should work on Boo
Act 2 i think you will fail at myrkul fight unless Nightsong doesnt get downed and tanks 90% of stuff. So myrkul/thorn fight will be relying a lot of nighsongs AI

Yeah I snuck it in for this one just in time! Pickpocketing just takes so long. It was super immersive on my first playthrough but now feels like a nuisance :/

@@lykanwulph9204 I saw a video where people used a backpack again to mess with merchants. You can throw stuff in a backpack, switch characters while shopping and then pull all the items out of the backpack with your other character. Looks decent, lol.
