There were a few moments on the live stream where we could see you (Brett) in the background of an aid station looking like a kid in a candy store. Just soaking it all in, absorbing every little detail of the action. The love of the game written on your face, clear as day. Thanks for keeping it real and broadcasting those WSER vibes for all of us who couldn't be there!
It was truly a sight to see. Having been at these same aid stations almost 10 years ago, it's incredible how much the science and professionalism across the top of the sport has changed. I'm always learning!
So I modded the Ultra cut out the side holes to match outside and inside. Not enough, I drilled holes throu the outsole (drill them in the bay of the nobs) to make the shoe more neutral, less "supporting" for giant pronators.. Better. Still not enough Adjustzed the shoe more to make it as neutral as possible: way better. Cut outs, holes. Glory to the high stack shoe. Put a ortholite liner in with a cutour in the arch area. And now ladies and gentleman (prob only Brett reading this) we have a SHOE. The shoe adjusts over the lenght of the shoe to balance out trail walls when you have a narrow U formed trail. Making it super easy to control at speed. They rule uphill, i crushes all prs at my local steeper trail sections without even trying yesterday. Ankle roll: GONE. Ow this is a good shoe now.. Holy F.. I seriously wont understand why people in the running community hardly ever mod their shoes. These shoes went from unstable fast furious dangeours beasts, to superfast, super easy, super confidence. Just the bounce on boulders can be a tad tricky, but that price I am willing to pay. I have the cascadia 18 coming in today and a pair and a pair of Caldera 7 half a size up (to comp with my heavily modded Caldera 7 in A/B) testing. let's see, trail summer awaits if it finaly stops raining here.
@@ConversationalPace ow yeah.. Cascadia 18 feel like bricks, unmodded Caldera 7 I will mod. The Ultras should get a strung upper (imho strung beats matryx) and more neutral build and be tuned for trail then adidas will beat everyone handsdown.
I’ve always felt people should experiment with shoes more like we do with ski boots. Now I’m really curious. Do you have an Instagram or anywhere where pictures of your final version could be seen?
@@Lag10 I agree, I mod my skiboots as well. Pretty much anyone who skis more than 20 days a year does. So weird that runners don't.. I've been thinking about doing a reddit post.

I like egg, jam and toast - but I question the combination
I still need to try it, but if Mike likes it, he's probably not wrong 😆
So good. Thanks for all the content. You guys killed it
Thanks for watching! It was such a blast of a week

Man versus horse beer mile next year 👊🤣
hahaha now that's something I'd pay good money to see 🤣
Hell yeah on the Coffee Club shirt
One of the best pods if you're a track and field fan 👌
Good times!
The best!
A shot of Finn before the 2024 WSER burger mishap. Maybe some condiments on it would have saved him.
hahaha one of the greatest moments of WSER history that didn't get caught on camera 🤣
You’re a natural with the camera.
🤣 🤣 it was fun to be behind the camera from time to time
coffee club ☕️👌🏼
Definitely one of my favorite pods!
Brett-SITW trail travel show when?
One can only dream 😂
who supplied the cougar
Hal
Correct, it is one of Hal Koerner's trophies. I'm not sure if it's his 2007 or 2009 victory, but it's one of those!
