I’ve had a fear of bridges & heights all of my life. We used to live on Parkview Avenue & later Joe Hammer Square & it would take me an hour to walk that bridge.
I finally started going behind our building up the Pennsy RR enbankment, down it & over to the skating pond and would climb the hill to avoid that bridge.

I loved living in oakland while attending Pitt - even having my car stolen didn't dampen my view... the University COVID policies did however - so I don't go back now.
