Great video
A blast from my past! I lived in Santa Fe for a few years when I was a teen. I left when I was 18, 43 years ago! Time flies! I did spend an afternoon there with my husband, 2 kids, and mother in law when we were traveling back from Roswell, and my MIL wanted to visit some friends there. That was many years ago as well. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I walked all over that town. 🚶♀
Santa Fe is hand's down, one of the most beautiful cities in the USA and so nicely located. It is however, extremely expensive to purchase a home there and the prices are now outrageous. The locals have been pushed out to the peripheral edges of the town with celebrities such as Val Kilmer, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Gene Hackman, Shirley McClain, Anna Gunn, RR Martin and Sam Donaldson living or in the vicinity of Canyon Road. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful place and certainly a must-see on travels through the southwest.
Beautiful walk. No sound but that of your footsteps and singing birds. Clear clean mountain air. What a way to start your day!
DE serted
Love the Pueblo architecture but the bare ass streets. No tress . No green .
Its a very , very beautiful city. A have to say a great deal of the recent architecture of the redeveloped areas are a huge disappointment. Please Boston redevelopment authority choose architects that understand beauty. The city could be among the world's greatest places if you only would. Look at the scale , sidewalks, use of detail, common spaces with plants and symmetry.
Very nice video. Thank you.
You walk too fast and don't urn your head
Whatever that horrible mechanical booming sound was, was just awful. It would have been nice if you had said what it was. I'm moving to Santa fe and I hope that sound is not constant.
Well done. You really captured the charm and beauty of Beacon Hill.
En el 84 anduve por ahi pero en las tardes era bien Solo ninguna alma Solo Cuando selebravan algo Todos Salian jajaja very good video thanks
Hi from Australia, I wanted to say thank you so much, for taking the time to make this video.
Great memories!
Great little video. Memories! Ah yes, Cathedral Park. Many decades ago the church there allowed artists to show their work in the park regularly. Until one day some church official strolled through and discovered that artists actually studied drawing and drew figures from nude humans. Evidence on the easels right there - the end of the venue for local artists! I left Santa Fe maybe 30 years ago (OMG) because the cost of living just got too high. Rent etc... I do miss the place much because of the beauty. That original art colony there 2 centuries ago really nailed it. Too bad it's gone to the developers and bankers. Adios Santa Fe.
I grew up thirty miles away. This misses the Indian art market that we walked right through on the plaza. The vendors sit against the wall with wears displayed on Indian blankets as tourist and shoppers amble past on one side of the plaza only, that’s in front of the palace of the governors. Most of it is marvolous and precious turquoise and silver Indian jewelry as well as paintings and kachina dolls and wonderfull native Indian art. As explained Covid ruined it. Thats one quiet day. During the burning of the zoozbra those streets fill with tens of thousands shoulder to shoulder everywhere.
I'm so glad I discovered this! Needed something to get me motivated to exercise today. Wondered was there any type of virtual walk I could do with outdoor scenery. Frick Park was a familiar location for me. And was surprised that after a 15 min. "walk", I'd accumulated over 2,000 steps! Hoping to work my way up to walking the full trail.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome 🎉
An artists’ dream!
I noticed there’re no crosswalks painted at the intersections. I’m thinking about visiting Maine (maybe even moving there!) from California land I’m curious about All Things Maine right now. Is the no-crosswalks a small town thing? Or maybe just a “Maine” thing…? Not judging. Just curious.
I love the walk except for the speed of the show. Need to take more time showing the art.
Nice
This was once a working class neighborhood until everyone got displaced. If you want a crash course in gentrification, study Canyon Road.
nice walk, but the guy who's filming has few facts straight. For example, BH is NOT the oldest neighborhood of Boston. Compared to Charlestown and the North End and parts of downtown, it is positively a baby.
Dónde están los seres humanos allí ???
Muy linda la influencia española en N M
One noteworthy historic location you skipped right past is 109 East Palace (at 2:29); during WWII, America’s top nuclear physicists from all over the country were recruited to work on a top-secret project they barely knew anything about, and told to report to 109 East Palace. That single doorway was the gateway to the Manhattan Project, to Los Alamos, and to development of America’s first nuclear weapon. Oppenheimer, Edward Teller, Richard Feinman, all funneled through that door. Today there's nothing but a small historic marker to indicate it, but history happened there nonetheless.
Spent a month in New Mexio years ago. Remember so many of these places.
I just got accepted here and I’m really debating attending here I love the campus and I would prefer a smaller school than a large one so this is the perfect for me. Still a big decision to make but I’m really considering.
almost timeless.. I attended summer classes in 67 and 68 for music, typing, and scholastic studies. I got pretty good at bocce getting schooled by the old, cigar-smoking Italian guys. Truly an educational institution!
Thanks for the walking tour. Do you have one of Hancock St and the Whole Foods?
I loved living in oakland while attending Pitt - even having my car stolen didn't dampen my view... the University COVID policies did however - so I don't go back now.
Bypasses the local saloon
Several years ago, I was working in Boston for an extended period and was fortunate enough to see and experience many wonderful things the area had to offer. I walked all around the residential area of Beacon Hill which was surprisingly small. We all have grand ideas what something might be like. Examples are The Freedom Trail and Tobacco Road. They don’t necessarily disappoint, but are simply different from what we had imagined. I loved the quaint gardens of the brownstones. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis maintained a residence on Beacon Hill when I visited or so I was told. I don’t know if that was accurate.
Looks nice the way I remember But where are the people Don't get me wrong I grew up in Las Vegas New Mexico was in Santa Fe alot ? Samuel Las Vegas Nevada and the Anasazi were Bad people why I married a girl from Gallup and Navajos told me
Excellent walk-around tour. I felt as if I was actually there, BTW, I attended Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie-Mellon University) and the University of Pittsburgh, but never took the opportunity to explore Chatham University. Thanks for producing a very informative video.
Thanks so much for your kind message! Chatham has a truly lovely campus and it's definitely a hidden gem! Glad you could enjoy virtually. Also: H2P and go tartans!
