I most definatelty agree. I owned a K6 1000 and I went right back to my K1. The K6 had better manners and was a bit more refined, but if you like the raw feel of a K1....theres no substitute! Ride safe to all!
I recently bought a K1 with 12000 miles on it and with a number of extras I.e,a steering damper, gear position indicator full Yoshimura tri oval exhaust system and aftermarket indicators.I have had the front brake master cylinder replaced with a Brembo one,the stock discs replaced by the Brembo equivalent and new brake lines, also fitted alloy rear sets,K and N hi flow filter,NGK iridium spark plugs and various alloy fasteners and rear stand bobbins.I initially was looking to buy a 2017 GSXR,but the K1 came up and thought I would give it a try.I fully expected it to be much less capable than the newer Gixers, but,it was phenomenal on acceleration and handling,it felt much lighter and more responsive than the 2017 model, plus the lack of electronic rider aids was a massive plus for me!.I really wouldn't even consider selling it and getting a newer model as it does everything extremely well,it's most definitely the best litre bike that I have ever owned.
I bought a K1 (blue-white-red) as my FIRST bike! Loved it from the start BUT I had a lot of neck and back pain. That took away most of the joy as I can't ride it without major neck pain problems.
I love the look when his three Suzuki bikes shoot out at 4:0I: GSX-R1000, GSX-R750 and GSX-R600. And he owns the racing track. That's like living in the heaven. And yes, look at that GSX-R1000!!! Age has made her only look more awesome. She's fearsome and beautiful. She the Queen of queens and she knows it!
I own one as well. By far the most raw punch you in your gut neck snapping acceleration that plants a permanant smile on your face long after you get off of it bike!...The only thing I dont like about my K1 is its low speed stumbling....I installed and ATRE by Gipro that helped smoothed it out a bit but this bike was made to run hard and fast....always asking for more. I have 23 years expirence and own many many bikes over the years..One thing ,.you must have respect for the throttle or ur dead!
Hi, yes I did get a K1 1000 :) its a great bike it keeps up with brand new r1 which is a good feeling.. for an old bike I was surprised at how well it handled and the power it delivered.. the only thing my mates newer r1 has on me is better brakes and fancy technology (which is more shit to go wrong eventually) lol very happy with the K1 but its a gixxa I was always gunna be happy with it
Hello all K1 owners I am a gsxr man still on a k4 600 though, but really keen for a 1000, I wanted a newer one but couldnt see the sense in paying extra coin when a k1 is more affordable..what do you guys think of the k1s and how do they compare against the newer gixxas?? are the newer ones really lworht the extra coin
You won't regret getting a K1,it handles extremely well and the power is something else,to me,it performs better than most of the newer gixers and feels light and responsive,if I were you I'd get hold of one as soon as you can as the K1s are now becoming sought after collectors items and prices are getting higher.
My k1 just turned over 68,000 miles. And she still runs like a bat out of hell. Very reliable bike.
My first bike.... Tha year Suzuki came hard....

To this day it is still insane, I get new bikes think they can kick my arse mmm yep.
This bike was and still is a beast. Way ahead of its time at the time. Literally blew every competitor out of the water.
It is a monster
I don't think so. The reason why this bike come is to compete with revolutionary rival R1
