I assume it was either skippers that disabled the sprout or a group of 4 friends that did all the content together and never had anybody give them tips, had to be their on their second dps' off day 😂

I play what I like. And i learn stuff and make up my own tactics. I'm glad for Mr. HAPPY Gamer and this guy for letting me know using MCH fire with the wildfire bomb helps and doing trick attack any chance you can is more helpful.
I put the one player per job on my farm parties just so I don’t have to deal with the possibility of another NIN joining. Trying to space out trick attack makes my brain go smooth

I set to 520 and im still dissapointed :( Theres litterally no reason to be less than 520 now anyway... you have like 10 methods for getting 520 gear quickly and easily with some of those options even going up to 530 with a little time.
I’d say that for making progression easier, some fights have mechanics people often mess up that you can only healer lb3 with a standard no dupe comp. Its far from needed, but does help make things easier to help cover for mistakes.

As someone coming from wow, and played RIFT for a very long time. I'd love to see more jobs have more flexibility in what role they can do by swapping stones. Imagine a SAM tank, GBN dps, RDM healer, and my personal wish as a WHM main, an actual DPS glare mage.

That statement about playing what you're comfy with is so true. I get hit with that reality every single time I try to take SMN into Ultimate instead of RDM (main) , despite being quite good at SMN as well.
SMN makes me want to throw a brick at my screen. I'm a healer main, mostly WHM, but I leveled SCH as well because I like shield healers conceptually. As an added benefit I also had SMN as a fall back DPS class I didn't have to level individually. Then I hit 70+, looked up guides on how to play SMN, put stuff into practice, learned how derpy pet AI can be (especially demipets) and just said "screw it, I'm leveling a BLM." I tried RMD recently too, just got them to 67 yesterday, what a fun class.
You had me until 11:30, but they you say "stop asking for one player per job in farm content" SO MANY jobs have buffs that can't overlap, and it feels terrible and you mention this RIGHT BEFORE saying that you think one player per job is dumb, I get that 2 melee being a requirement is dumb unless you're a WF team but you play samurai, you don't have to deal with a summoner overwriting your devotion, not to mention how annoying it is you can't stack shields as double scholar

I feel that only showing the bars in the FF14logs section and not showing the numbers was pretty disingenuous. At the time of writing this, Oracle of Darkness Savage, at the 99th percentile, there's NIN at the top with 25,150 rDPS and Machinist at the bottom with 22,080 rDPS. It may not seem like a large gap but it's about a 15% damage contribution difference which is massive, especially after saying how huge a 1% raid wide damage buff is with only 8 people in the raid group.
The point is to compare between members of the same archetype, where it is mostly balanced. Nobody ever said a ranged physical is going to do melee DPS numbers.
"Now let's get out there and start limit testing the worst composition that you can possibly do and still clear ultimate" Isn't that the actual point? That's where the challenge is, META is just the easiest way. I never pay attention to the meta.

One of the perks of FF14 having so few jobs is that it means that it's significantly easier to get them more lined up with one another on average in terms of damage/utility. With WoW there's essentially 3 seperate classes within each class which brings the total to around ~36 unique classes to balance around which makes it impossible to have everything be viable like in FF14. (But if you play DRK/MNK/SCH in Shadowbringers then you have my pity).
Sorry, but you're kind of wrong. Even in WoW most classes and speccs are viable for clearing all content, it's just that the raiding community views the game through 2 lenses, the first lens being the World First race(where the whole point is maximum optimization), and the second being the maximum DPS meta. Every single specc in WoW can clear the hardest content, it's just that nobody wants to deliberately nerf themselves when they have the choice not to, and to be frank, the same logic applies in Final Fantasy; if a PF or a static has *the choice* between a competent SAM and a competent MCH, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the SAM because SAM's do more damage despite MCH having Tactician(And being ranged). This is just a fact. And this was me picking SAM and MCH to be nice, I could've chosen BLM and BRD to make it even more obvious.
All the tanks are so close together that its pretty silly, and while drks dmg isnt great tbn exists.... but pld (great dmg) has some of the worst cooldowns in the game. sch is actually 'meta' right now though not even close to stormblood levels, basically the 'healer meta' is ast+ something. 14 could add 8 new jobs and the way fights are designed it would probably be the same thing: most would be plenty fine.
The reason you put one class per job is because multiple of the same job will slow the rate of lb3. also shit like having 2 dancers or two astros overwriting buff windows etc etc. its not saying that you cant clear. its just more annoying to do.

We cleared all uiltimates with a bunch of nerds who saw TankCoB beeing a thing and telling ourselfs if they can do it with eight tanks we can clear it with dbl phys range.. and boi at the most reclears we didn't even saw the start of the enrages.. there is no dps check anymore for the ultimates.. bring whatever you want and search for a therapy beforehand
I didn't care about meta even during gordias, I liked playing MNK and I hated NIN. My raid group didn't care but other ppl outside our raid group was like NIN is best for DPS. We still cleared Pepsiman while the people telling me to go NIN still hadn't cleared even with the best dps comp.
Having things a tad homogenized to be able to play a class you truly enjoy is a lot easier to deal with than risking a class being literally unwanted and unviable for an entire patch cycle/expansion
You need to have a pretty strict rotation to have it line up perfectly. In Stormblood Samurai was one of the few classes that could viably run a bunch of different skill speeds, so going from one of the most freeform classes to a very strict one annoyed some people.
I did so love playing max speed samurai in Stormblood, but I adjusted to the skill speed limits pretty easily, so I guess I didnt think it was that big of a deal I suppose. Interested to see what they do with it next. It's always gonna be my main job regardless~

@@Th3hUnT3R1 tsubame is on a 60s cooldown but your rotation doesn't line up nicely to that cd if you just collect stickers and spam midare mindlessly. depending on your gcd tier, you will need to perform 1 or 2 specific filler combos and dump the extra stickers using hagakure, so that you end up nicely with 3 stickers just in time for tsubame to come back up. this is all very nice and well until you fight something other than a training dummy. downtime will change how much filler you have to do, if any, and you also have to adjust for your buffs dropping off with extended downtime. if you don't do this correctly, and say tsubame comes up when you don't have 3 stickers or you generated dupe stickers that you didn't convert into kenki, well you're going to lose dps. drifting tsubame like this can lose you extra tsubame casts over the course of the fight and also cause your burst window to fall outside of the rest of the raid's buffs. so samurai players have to adjust their rotation around tsubame for every fight and it can be annoying/challenging just because of that one skill
@@aliasonarcotics I know, I'm a samurai main and have 99s, adjusting my filler is the fun part on samurai imo, I tried samurai in uwu where you dont have tusbame gaeshi cause level 70 and it feels incredibly unsatisfying, switched to ninka just for this, but idk maybe thats just me. Like if you took the filler stuff out of the sam rotation it would be by far the easiest melee and you can already make a case for it being the easiest, idk why people would want to remove the only part you need to think about. I mean even if you dont you can probably still get high purples completely freestyling the rotation you only drop out of buffs and maybe lose one cooldown but whatever.

this is all very nice and well until you fight something other than a training dummy. downtime will change how much filler you have to do, if any, and you also have to adjust for your buffs dropping off with extended downtime. if you don't do this correctly, and say tsubame comes up when you don't have 3 stickers or you generated dupe stickers that you didn't convert into kenki, well you're going to lose dps. drifting tsubame like this can lose you extra tsubame casts over the course of the fight and also cause your burst window to fall outside of the rest of the raid's buffs. so samurai players have to adjust their rotation around tsubame for every fight and it can be annoying/challenging just because of that one skill
@@aliasonarcotics I know, I'm a samurai main and have 99s, adjusting my filler is the fun part on samurai imo, I tried samurai in uwu where you dont have tusbame gaeshi cause level 70 and it feels incredibly unsatisfying, switched to ninka just for this, but idk maybe thats just me. Like if you took the filler stuff out of the sam rotation it would be by far the easiest melee and you can already make a case for it being the easiest, idk why people would want to remove the only part you need to think about. I mean even if you dont you can probably still get high purples completely freestyling the rotation you only drop out of buffs and maybe lose one cooldown but whatever.
