choi yu kit - I thought the same. I hope they will be happy with their choices. Somin and jongkook made each other better. Before jong kook has a very tough image. He actually like cute stuff and very romantic. But he didn’t have someone to share it with him to show his real character. He seems to have more male friends that he doesn’t have a chance to share his soft and sweet side to complement his manly image. Jihyo is very similar to him. He reacts in moody mood, jihyo does it same. Or was funny that create Spartace. They are very moody couple. They like to do their own thing and understood that when they wanted their alone time. For him will be gym and her will be sleeping. That is why fortune teller said they are compatible. They leave each other alone and understood each other. Somin and jinyoung in other hand are opposite version of jong kook. But they feed his needs and joy. I think jinyoung is less clingy than somin. But the thing is that of three women, from my perspective through his variety character (50 percent real, other is variety), he grows more and changing when he is with somin. I don’t think jinyoung change him. He showed his soft side. He did it for variety sake. But with somin, he didn’t just do only for variety sake. He cares a lot about her that he may not realise that he has interest in her. He does a lot of things he did for somin are often repressed in running man and any other variety shows. When he argued with jaesuk for not letting him play for somin. His face turned red. When somin made brazen comments on jong kook to challenge him, he gets very sensitive. That is not variety character he wanted to portray. Somin, with jong kook’s help, he made her weird charms more charming. He defended her when sukjin made brazen comments. Some guest said unfavourable comments towards somin because of her character. Even with sechan, he comes to disturb them, jong kook will give wry comment to make a joke. It was so cute. That was when somin and jong kook went to eat steak together. Then got disturbed by sechan. I was surprised jong kook would say it!
they are really cute and they have such a beautiful budding friendship. couple or siblings, it doesn't matter, that is what we want. two people who can be great friends and have a deep mutual understanding. that is why we love RM too, for all the great friendships it has introduced into our lives, right?
I feel like nowdays JK wants to be a real friend with her....the past years he was cold and distant with her...but now I think he knows all the hard work she has been doing for the show and much hate she has been receiving for the show too....now he wants to be a good oppa and help her...😊
well-said. i think so too. i think she has also changed his views about what an entertainer, especially an actress entertainer, should do. when she first came in and would do her wild and unpredictable things, he could have found her silly. but i think his opinion started changing after getting to know her more. as he says in the tiger moth tour episode, jsm is playful, but she is a sweet girl. after seeing her work so hard and keep on smiling despite all the hate and prejudice against her, he must have started respecting her. when she won the award last year, he said as the MC that she totally deserves it since she works so hard at the set. from the beginning of this year, i think he has started feeling more protective of her and he is vocal about it. i feel he is not protective of her because she is weak, but because she is very strong and patient and he can't help root for her like we all do. i feel he is also changing on rm. he is more calm and playful these days, betrays more often and is far readier to take risks. so she has been a good influence.
Somin is very fun to be with. Even male friends also hang out with her. Somin and jong kook seems to be each other’s type despite their different personalities and aura. Somin is fast, consistent, creative, bright, and observant. she balance it out with jong kook’s slow, quiet, leading from behind, analytical, calculating, and cool demeanour. When they meet together, they seem to like same thing like cute and cheesy lines, writing poetry or reading them, sarcasm, sense of humour, and hardworking. Jong kook respects people who works hard. Somin earns his very respect as she got mine too.
What makes me interesting is that JS always said that lks and jsm could not be a couple while a kjk always asks if jsm is his girlfriend or if they are dating. He is right

I observed that Yoo Jaesuk always tease JK and SM like asking them "are you dating?", "do u like somin?" , "is she ur girlfriend?" SOMETHING LIKE THAT ...
normally jk looks triumphant being the punisher. its the first time i saw him hesitant. i have a feeling he signaled her to pretend its painful when it doesn'y look as intense whack the first time he did it to her in previous episode. when he touched her arm i think its to reassure her that he will go easy on her. he has a strong arm but i think he can control the intensity as he carefully aimed it on her butt which is more padded compare when it landed on thigh. i still love their stares and jsm acting cute when sulking.
yes, he felt sorry for her. but he must also respect her for not making a fuss. initially, he wanted all of them to take one hit each. but because it won't be funny and jsm is game for anything, they had to go for this. even then, kjk was very hesitant. he moved the table so that he could swing his arms as he wanted and he went easy on her compared to what he usually does. but our jsm is so sweet, she doesn't like hurting others. she didn't want to go hard on yjs though she could have. i think one of the reasons kjk came to help out jsm was because he knew she wouldn't like to go hard on yjs who is her mentor.
Everyone had to be dramatic for variety. Hehe. The first smack on her butt in earlier episode is so loud. However I think the sound creates dramatic effect. So we can’t be too sure. :)
So from the recent ep 452 and the two images that were shared on social media with one where they were sitting at the back and the other shared by kjk oppa, both the pictures were not part of the show or a 'group' game as such which means it is a real interaction between them and that's quite crucial. The fact that they don't come across as evident as a 'kookmin' thing in the last few episodes for some people might be because Somin and kjk oppa are aware of the attention their interaction is getting and it is understandable they would want to steer away from such attention. And such happens only if you have something to hide, which I think is the case with kookmin. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion. Whilst we saw a lot of heat-fluttering moments in previous episodes where oppa made his interest in somin very clear and those moments were exciting for us to see and which is why we have been rooting for them. From this episode, I felt that, now there is a 'stability' in kookmin's interaction if you know what I mean. Its the sort of deeper understanding relationship I THINK where they have gone past the initial transient period of wanting to impress the other person or at the stage where one tries to let the other person know of their interest in them. And I think it is a mutual thing from both of them considering they have some sort of unspoken bits and pieces of moments where I couldn't help but think, they actually looked like a 'real' couple in a serious relationship. From this I meant, the STABILITY which we see in relationships when two people are able to understand each other without having to try to impress them every moment. Now, the minute details I picked up from the episode include: first, when they were talking about the performances they did as part of the fan meeting tour last year, they discussed on how sechan and somin did well with psy's new face dance. And kjk oppa butted in saying somin is really good.Okay that could be a random comment to throw, but when other people were commenting on how good sechan and both of them were, he made a point to mention Somin's name.He could say, 'both of them' which he might have said before, but he was loud and clear to point out that Somin is really good Lol. Second, when sukjin oppa did not let in somin to stand near jihyo, everybody commented on how petty he was on not letting her stand there. And of course, kjk oppa had to say to sukjin oppa, why do you get greedy over petty things? The topic could be done there and then. But kjk oppa made sure to get back at sukjin oppa with a lot of harsh 'joke' comments throughout the episode and during that moment as well. I mean, it could be just kjk oppa's normal instinct to sukjin but, I felt, it could be part of getting back at sukjin oppa for being mean to somin. In the train game thing, somin was to be the collateral and she was given the challenge of putting on weird makeup for three episodes when male guests will be in. Now, this is important. Everyone was convincing somin and she was reluctant but said yes. Amidst all the comments thrown at her, oppa said, but you could look cute with the makeups. Okay, so we are talking about WEIRD UGLY MAKEUP AND NOT CUTE, lol, but oppa ofcourse being the man, had to tell her that you could look cute which I took it as, you will still look cute regardless. And when she requested to do the makeup only for one episode instead of three, he also made it a point to cutely shout 'one episode' for her. The most important thing here is when she mentions, i have an intent to get married through Runningman, and everyone teases her saying male guests and stufff... but unlike usually when oppa used to be the first one to say, somin, I will set u up with who and who and always teases her with guests; this time, he is QUIET when male guests were mentioned. When she mentioned: I am going to get married through Runningman, he lowered his gaze as if to avoid showing his reaction. He was REALLY QUIET during that time and I found that so cute. In the last bit of 'balloon' game, unlike normally where somin gets scolded by oppa when she doesn't do well, he is again quiet when she was unable to throw and catch the balloon. Normally, he would throw mean comments to her and even suspect her of doing some mischievous things. But, every time she got something wrong, he is VERY QUIET and did not say a word. When sukjin oppa or jihyo got wrong, oppa was like furious (not in real of course) and made sukjin oppa suffer with so many outch comments! The last thing, I would say is since the incidence where he has shared his 'interest' in somin indirectly, he has never argued nor complained with somin on the show despite somin being bad with games. And I found that deliberate. All in all, I do feel that, at this stage, they have an understanding of the attention they are receiving about their interaction and therefore are more careful. Despite that, minute moments such as the ones I saw makes me feel more strongly about them. I could be wrong.
Ahhh, insightful, extremely insightful. You also noted that he lowered his gaze when jsm mentioned 'l'm going to get married through RM'. The first time l noticed he did the same thing was in ep 433 when jsm shouted out that she wants to visit the ski resort again with her boyfriend. I'm not sure is this a habit of his or not. Maybe kjk's fans can enlighten us over this. Nevertheless. my favorite part in this episode is the 3 second unintended scene of their backs while both of them faced the museum exhibits. Priceless, oblivious to what's going on around them, daebak!!!
Lobsang Dolma yes I’ve watched three times now and I’ve noticed all those things by carefully watching them. When somin made the joke about Sukjin not letting her in the space and then he said “why are you trying to squeeze in” Kjk straight made sure he defended somin strongly because before that he was just enjoying somins joke. It’s all about the timing, also this episode specifically shows them always together, especially on the bus even if they go out they still managed to sit together when they go back in the bus. Also they’re always standing together or walking in front of each other. And once he wasn’t sitting next to her but he still managed to sit in front of her. In this episode he’s keeping his distance with SJH at the end, where everyone is holding hands but Kjk kind of ignores it. I don’t know if that’s just me tho. Lol

(I'm sure most people know what dongseng is by now, but it's a word people use when they refer to someone younger). In Reference to when I started noticing and kind of got rooting for kookmin was last year as well even when kwangmin was being shipped along with spartace. I kind of had moments where I felt driven towards kwangmin due to the friendship they shared and I was doubtful that they might be something more. Although I did think kwangsoo shared an initial interest in somin which I still feel the same during ‘those’ times when he was single. I feel that them being too comfortable around each other was probably why they are really amazing friends only and I feel that’s the best thing. Despite all,I still was observing kookmin particularly with kjk oppa. Because he is one of the most transparent person when it comes to showing his feelings either through words or actions. During the past year when they did not share the ‘close friendship’ they have now, in my opinion, somin was someone who either through her outrageous actions or words kept on clinging onto kjk oppa’s mind and he showed his evident disappointments or anger towards her when she did not align with him/betrayed him. Even though he could have not liked somin’s actions at that point, he knew that was for the show but his reactions to her were genuine anger/disappointment which I think kept on bugging his mind even after finishing the shoots. Cause he would turn up for the next shoots holding the grudges against her and then later, he would be saying, am I being really petty? Even though somin might not have been in his ‘love interest’ sort of tangent, but she was someone who remained on his mind always I felt. He could have later come to admitting that with himself. Cause I think oppa is really bad in pretending to show that he does not like someone whilst he does. On MUD, when he was teased with Jin-young, he said, I would be a weirdo if I refuse jinyoung’s cute acts if I have something with her. So his reaction to refusing someone else’s approach towards him I feel are 100% real. The fact that he doesn’t refuse but even smile at somin’s cute antiques mean ALOT about oppa’s feelings. Period. And somin’s text to oppa for a hangout was I think pivotal in affirming oppa’s feeling for somin and likewise for somin to see a different side of oppa. Now with the attention they are getting about their interaction nowadays, regardless of whether they actually do share a special relationship or not, the best thing oppa can do is be far from somin on the show so that his genuine reactions won’t come out. But I must tell you, oppa is in all honesty such an adorable honest person that he just can’t seem to lie with his actions towards somin. Can you two just be real please?
what's with kookmin and number 4? 4 is considered the unlucky number yet they both picked it twice. could be because it is their birth month. when the members walk in, the pd asks them to choose the platforms they want to and jsm and kjk choose 3 and 4. kjk is tempted to choose number 2 in the round where he gets out but decides to stick with 4. jsm, when given an option between 4 and 5, chooses 4. they both get out coincidentally with the same number. in the tofu episode when jsm is asked to choose the number of the spoon that will decide who bears her penalty, she chooses number 4 and kjk picks it to everyone's shock and delight. perhaps it is me, but i always feels their reactions cannot be termed shocked disappointment. it is more incredulity at the coincidence and if i may say so, it is a happy sort of incredulity. every time i watch this, i can literally see the blood rushing into jsm's face and her eyes welling up in shock. it also looks to me like kjk wanted to pick 4. he keeps telling jsj, it would be incredible if i pick 4, i would fill the empty spot and jsj says the spirit of variety shows is on your side. then when he picks it, he throws the spoon down in amazement. i know variety shows are scripted and they sell drama and this is an incredibly dramatic scene, but whenever i watch this scene, i see some real drama play out and feel their reactions have an element of truth to them. if this scene was about kjk and jsm teaming up for a couple race on the show, i could have rationalized the intensity of the reactions. but the reactions are very exaggerated for bearing the penalty and that always makes me wonder whether something more was going on. since this episode was shot a few episodes after the fortune telling forecast where kookmin were teamed up as most compatible partners without showing us what came off their forecast, i keep wondering.
I don't ship it romantically, I have loved Spartace for a long time and it never came to happen and I used to love Kwangmin before and I was clearly wrong about it 😂 so I am a bit hurt when it comes to shipping on Running Man and don't want to do it again hahaha. But I do love their recent friendship a lot and I just love how Jong Kook has warmed up to her. I also love how their friendship has warmed up lots of people to Somin, because many Jong Kook fans (and I say Jong Kook fans, not SHIPPERS) believe his judgement and clearly if he has chosen to become close with Somin that means she is a nice person. I just want to point out two underrated Kookmin moments though: in the ep last year where a fortune teller came to tell them their fortune, the fortune teller highlighted Kwangmin and Spartace (which I was shipping hard at the time) but in the end when the pairs were formed based on compatibility it was Jong Kook and Somin who were paired. Another missed moment is in the gym "yeobo!" episode (cannot remember the number, sorry) Jong Kook and Somin actually came up with her birthday special together 😂 She said she wanted an episode where she would go on dates and Jong Kook brought the idea that they all would chase her around. That episode became a reality, clearly showing that their combined ideas actually work out well. Anyway at the end of the day I am just happy to see the members become closer and a family. At first I thought Jong Kook had a little trouble getting used to Somin's personality so I do love how he has come around and they became friends. I love how she has also become closer to Haha, too! I love your channel and you are doing a great job and I hope me mentioning other ships doesn't bother you. I love all of the Running Man members and their relationships so I watch every video highlighting them as long as it is positive and happy ❤️
i have seen your comments under sbs and kocowa videos and i greatly enjoy them. good to see you here :)) i don't mind comments mentioning any ship here as long as it is not disrespectful to kookmin which yours clearly isn't. we have a few commenters here who were kwangmin shippers before and yours is the second comment from someone who used to be a spartace shipper. i can understand why fans used to ship spartace and kwangmin. both ships have members who are very similar to each other and have such close relationships (long friendships), so it is perfectly understandable. with kookmin, the charm is in how different they are and the unpredictability that comes in when members with such different personalities interact. they also bring out new/rarely seen sides of the other and that is a pleasure to watch. i enjoy seeing kjk who usually gets upset when he is betrayed trying to anticipate how jsm will behave if a choice is given to her and doing what he can not to resent her if that happens. i enjoy jsm whose character is the female betrayer thinking over how kjk will behave if given a choice and doing what she can to gain his loyalty. it is hard for all of us to second guess our instinct and try to be in the other person's shoes before we make decisions and when i see that happen with these two, i feel happy. even as a friendship, theirs is one that will let them grow as entertainers and as people. i also love the fact that jsm took kjk's betrayal on the chin and didn't resent him for letting out her secret. she didn't judge him for that which made kjk feel regretful and go out of his way to make up. it is things like these where they behave very maturely even in ridiculous situations that makes me root for them. again, like you said, both kjk and jsm have such interesting conversations/ideas when they talk and i love listening to them. in the first role play episode, kjk says he is the kind who tells his girlfriend about his past relationships and jsm asks incredulously "why would you do that?". later she says, "i don't want to know how many relationships my boyfriend has had since i will always keep wondering about his past" and then he gives her the reply "that is why it is better to tell everything at the very beginning". Flash forward to the jeju island episode, where she, to his question about memories, very candidly confesses she had come alone there with an ex which makes him reminiscence about the girlfriend he loved the most. They keep having these conversations out of nowhere that are very personal. kjk doesn't open up much about his personal life on camera unless he is probed about it, so it is always a pleasure when he does so. i don't know how to put it, though they are very different people and may not see eye to eye on many things, they connect at some deeper level or perhaps in the process to find common things to connect, they have reached a different level of understanding. that is the reason i love their whole dynamic - some inexplicable chemistry is there that creates these moments when they interact.
only bits and pieces of the two fortune forecasts were shown to us. who knows whether there were some forecasts made about kookmin in the first one? the second one wasn't shown at all. we wouldn't even have known it was there if not for the flashback with yjs or jsj trying to give some member a bottle of water which was the day's mission. jsm's element is metal and kjk's element is water. metal holds water like jsm herself says before the fortune teller comes in. so jsm is a good support for kjk (metal holds water) just like kjk is a good support for sjh (wood needs water). i am not an expert in numerology but that they were born 10 years apart, in the same month with their birthdates adding up to number 7 (jsm on april 7 and kjk on april 25) could all figure when it comes to something like fortune forecast. so perhaps they had greater compatibility with each other than with other members who were shown as having good compatibility with them. hence they were teamed up.
I agree. To me it's more about them being close friends for now. Let's also not forget :) JK was playing up in the early episodes, pretending that he was annoyed with somin. If you know jk's personality then you can tell when he is being serious or prending to be serious. HaHa even called it out in that fortune teller episode when he made the realisation himself "jong kook's cold act is a pretence...he takes good care of somin" not to forget in the episode where they were prisoners, jongkook and somin were pitted to look like rivals or something like that but in the end he still let her help him with the quiz and they high fived and in that same episode he gave somin the tofu in front of everyone, even the PD was shocked lol. I also remember a few eps after that, when somin pretended to vacuum jong kook the mosquito into the vacuum thing, the members tried to put it like they were rivals again but again suprisingly jong kook said "she's cute" (avoiding eye contact and playing with his football) then the room almost went silent but kwangsoo pipped up and said he's lying or something like that just to play up their rival-ship a bit more or just to tease somin lol
TFVids I shipped them on the early days of Somin but @kjk always on aloof side because of her personality & lks already form bond with her which awkward since kjk strict side & not easy to crack hehehe. I sometimes tell myself leave him alone girl in his lonely world until Jsm gave him flower & he accused her of wanting to sit near him. JSJ's greed for attention is out of control and even blocked JSM from getting center spot. JSJ is just like a wine. The older his age, the better he get. I know this is kookmin channel dicussion but i just want to say JSM n JSJ interaction is kinda funny tho. JSJ is like cold-hearted brother meanwhile JSM is like unexpected-craziness sister.
i have sympathy for fellow shippers who feel doubtful or hurt when things don't go like they think it should. i have been there last year so i can sympathise. unlike many of you, i don't think kookmin started this year. it became more of a committed relationship this year but the feelings were there. last year I kept observing these two people getting attracted to each other who were as different as chalk and cheese. the attraction meant they wanted to get close but were also going up against perplexing personality differences. remember last year was the year kjk became overjoyed when he 'won' jsm over lks in the rock paper scissors and got more upset than he should have been when she chose haha as the most handsome man in the team. yet when she gave him a flower, he could not believe she was doing it for real and suspected it was for a mission. as a viewer, we know jsm didn't give the flower to kjk because of any mission, but kjk thought it was weird for jsm to sit next to him and do that. Then jsm says, "no, i was trying to avoid you" and haha says now he will misunderstand again :) so kjk is unable to process jsm because she is so different from him and so unpredictable. is she doing these random things or is there more to it than that? last year was also the year jsj asked jsm if she liked kjk since she was always observing him, also the year when she said kjk is handsome when he smiles and she would like to choose him as her husband, but it would be difficult to be his wife. there was also one instance when kjk makes a wry joke and haha confesses he doesn't know when kjk is joking and when he is serious and jsm replies that she also finds it hard. so for jsm too, kjk is a puzzle. i was their silent shipper last year. i felt the attraction and believed they would make each other grow as people once they got to understand their personality differences. but there were many times when i got frustrated with them and felt this ship wasn't going to head anywhere. but something or the other would happen to make me come back to the ship. either my perspective would change or i would understand they were changing as people as the days went. whatever it was, i felt they were still holding on to something that stayed despite the personality differences and the possible conflicts. for me, the issue is not whether they are dating or not. i, for one, believe they have some kind of stability in their relationship now like @Lobsang Dolma pointed out. the issue is whether they can go all the way. that will require patience to understand their partner's point of view, learn to accept their partner for what he/she is and above all, manage their growing relationship in a professional space that requires them to play their professional roles. now the situation is tougher if they have started dating and are colleagues because there is the added pressure to play their roles while maintaining their relationship. but i also think about the possibilities ahead if they can learn from each other. kjk needs to loosen up more, learn to enjoy the process of 'not winning' because it is not the end of the world and learn to enjoy taking even penalties. jsm, on the other hand, needs to learn to be more serious while playing games, needs to trust herself to rise to the occasion when her team needs her to perform for winning is finally half self-belief. if you believe you are a weak player, you won't succeed even if you have the ability. as shippers, we have to understand the pressures of their work-place. that they have feelings/are dating is their business. their colleagues and the PDs expect them to do what they are paid for, which is to play their assigned roles and entertain us. so please be realistic with your expectations of how they should behave and that will help soften the blows of the turbulent weather on our way :))

It is interesting that there's a lot we can see from their body language in ep 451 - lots of times JK reaching out to Somin, mirroring, that look of nervousness from KJK during the quiz, and they're doing the "look" over/behind Haha's back again lol 👀
yes, kjk is so nervous. he is biting his lips, biting his nails and has his hands folded in prayer. none of the other members look as nervous as him. the intense look of nervousness comes after he wonders if so min has a chance at winning.
i love how kjk always smiling when he get somin.. female celebs always want kjk as their partner but then somin always wnt to avoid kjk.. n kjk looks like he always tries to keep somin on his sight..
yes, he looks excited when she is on his team. last year, he tried to act cool about it. but his pretence would always fall apart. in ep 413, he acts like he doesn't care if he gets her when they pull ribbons to get partners, but claps in happiness when they pull the same ribbon. the members tease them saying they are pretending to be happy. you can also see his tensed face when she has to pick the cabinet door. the one who is the most pumped up when they win normal uniforms is kjk. you can see kwang soo looking at him like "what has happened to this hyung?" He teases her when she drops their uniforms saying "are you that happy" after he charges towards her elated , but he is the one who can't hide his happiness. in episode 424 too, it is the same pattern. he acts like he hates playing rock paper scissors with the other men to win jsm, but looks really tensed as if his life is at stake. i think he is worried that he might lose the game. but when he wins, his joy is so evident that the others start teasing him. then he hides his face behind lks in embarrassment ;) i noticed from this year, he has stopped denying that he wants to be in her team or wants to interact with her more. Like in the last episode, he tried to bring in gender balance as an excuse to choose her team :)) He also goes out of his way to interact with her. in a previous episode, she just wanted to use his shoulders as support for popping the balloons. It is he who decided lifting her would be a better idea. even when she wanted to give up, he was running behind her to help her. in this episode too, it looked like he was waiting for her to join him at the cold noodles restaurant and once she comes in, taps her, nudges her, pats her back and does a lot of cute skinship to play around and comfort her. :)) he also tries to catch her attention when she looks at yjs with a sorry face.

kjk used the word 'dongsaeng' but it doesn't mean sister alone. it is a term applicable to someone younger, male and female. from the way yjs responded asking kjk soon afterwards if jsm is his girlfriend, don't think yjs took it to mean 'sister' or believed kookmin could be just siblings.

i too realized that when editing for this video. at 3:42, the shot is continuous till he reaches for her hand and then it gets cut off abruptly. if you noticed, the coach uniform they have edited on to kjk covers both their hands which must be quite close. it also makes kjk look taller than he is when you can see from the side shots that their heads are pressed close together. there is an awkward cut with jsj laughing which i have included at 4:54-4:55 where you can see jsm's and kjk's hair almost merge into each other. so much editing has gone into this. :)

As a fan of kjk from 2005,I don't care who will kjk end up with, that's his life, the only thing I KNOW is kjk and jsm are so cute

He actually like cute stuff and very romantic. But he didn’t have someone to share it with him to show his real character. He seems to have more male friends that he doesn’t have a chance to share his soft and sweet side to complement his manly image. Jihyo is very similar to him. He reacts in moody mood, jihyo does it same. Or was funny that create Spartace. They are very moody couple. They like to do their own thing and understood that when they wanted their alone time. For him will be gym and her will be sleeping. That is why fortune teller said they are compatible. They leave each other alone and understood each other. Somin and jinyoung in other hand are opposite version of jong kook. But they feed his needs and joy. I think jinyoung is less clingy than somin. But the thing is that of three women, from my perspective through his variety character (50 percent real, other is variety), he grows more and changing when he is with somin. I don’t think jinyoung change him. He showed his soft side. He did it for variety sake. But with somin, he didn’t just do only for variety sake. He cares a lot about her that he may not realise that he has interest in her. He does a lot of things he did for somin are often repressed in running man and any other variety shows. When he argued with jaesuk for not letting him play for somin. His face turned red. When somin made brazen comments on jong kook to challenge him, he gets very sensitive. That is not variety character he wanted to portray. Somin, with jong kook’s help, he made her weird charms more charming. He defended her when sukjin made brazen comments. Some guest said unfavourable comments towards somin because of her character. Even with sechan, he comes to disturb them, jong kook will give wry comment to make a joke. It was so cute. That was when somin and jong kook went to eat steak together. Then got disturbed by sechan. I was surprised jong kook would say it!

well-said. i think so too. i think she has also changed his views about what an entertainer, especially an actress entertainer, should do. when she first came in and would do her wild and unpredictable things, he could have found her silly. but i think his opinion started changing after getting to know her more. as he says in the tiger moth tour episode, jsm is playful, but she is a sweet girl. after seeing her work so hard and keep on smiling despite all the hate and prejudice against her, he must have started respecting her. when she won the award last year, he said as the MC that she totally deserves it since she works so hard at the set. from the beginning of this year, i think he has started feeling more protective of her and he is vocal about it. i feel he is not protective of her because she is weak, but because she is very strong and patient and he can't help root for her like we all do.
i feel he is also changing on rm. he is more calm and playful these days, betrays more often and is far readier to take risks. so she has been a good influence.
Somin is very fun to be with. Even male friends also hang out with her. Somin and jong kook seems to be each other’s type despite their different personalities and aura. Somin is fast, consistent, creative, bright, and observant. she balance it out with jong kook’s slow, quiet, leading from behind, analytical, calculating, and cool demeanour. When they meet together, they seem to like same thing like cute and cheesy lines, writing poetry or reading them, sarcasm, sense of humour, and hardworking. Jong kook respects people who works hard. Somin earns his very respect as she got mine too.

normally jk looks triumphant being the punisher. its the first time i saw him hesitant. i have a feeling he signaled her to pretend its painful when it doesn'y look as intense whack the first time he did it to her in previous episode. when he touched her arm i think its to reassure her that he will go easy on her. he has a strong arm but i think he can control the intensity as he carefully aimed it on her butt which is more padded compare when it landed on thigh. i still love their stares and jsm acting cute when sulking.
yes, he felt sorry for her. but he must also respect her for not making a fuss. initially, he wanted all of them to take one hit each. but because it won't be funny and jsm is game for anything, they had to go for this. even then, kjk was very hesitant. he moved the table so that he could swing his arms as he wanted and he went easy on her compared to what he usually does. but our jsm is so sweet, she doesn't like hurting others. she didn't want to go hard on yjs though she could have. i think one of the reasons kjk came to help out jsm was because he knew she wouldn't like to go hard on yjs who is her mentor.

So from the recent ep 452 and the two images that were shared on social media with one where they were sitting at the back and the other shared by kjk oppa, both the pictures were not part of the show or a 'group' game as such which means it is a real interaction between them and that's quite crucial.
The fact that they don't come across as evident as a 'kookmin' thing in the last few episodes for some people might be because Somin and kjk oppa are aware of the attention their interaction is getting and it is understandable they would want to steer away from such attention. And such happens only if you have something to hide, which I think is the case with kookmin. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion. Whilst we saw a lot of heat-fluttering moments in previous episodes where oppa made his interest in somin very clear and those moments were exciting for us to see and which is why we have been rooting for them. From this episode, I felt that, now there is a 'stability' in kookmin's interaction if you know what I mean. Its the sort of deeper understanding relationship I THINK where they have gone past the initial transient period of wanting to impress the other person or at the stage where one tries to let the other person know of their interest in them. And I think it is a mutual thing from both of them considering they have some sort of unspoken bits and pieces of moments where I couldn't help but think, they actually looked like a 'real' couple in a serious relationship. From this I meant, the STABILITY which we see in relationships when two people are able to understand each other without having to try to impress them every moment.
Now, the minute details I picked up from the episode include: first, when they were talking about the performances they did as part of the fan meeting tour last year, they discussed on how sechan and somin did well with psy's new face dance. And kjk oppa butted in saying somin is really good.Okay that could be a random comment to throw, but when other people were commenting on how good sechan and both of them were, he made a point to mention Somin's name.He could say, 'both of them' which he might have said before, but he was loud and clear to point out that Somin is really good Lol.
Second, when sukjin oppa did not let in somin to stand near jihyo, everybody commented on how petty he was on not letting her stand there. And of course, kjk oppa had to say to sukjin oppa, why do you get greedy over petty things? The topic could be done there and then. But kjk oppa made sure to get back at sukjin oppa with a lot of harsh 'joke' comments throughout the episode and during that moment as well. I mean, it could be just kjk oppa's normal instinct to sukjin but, I felt, it could be part of getting back at sukjin oppa for being mean to somin.
In the train game thing, somin was to be the collateral and she was given the challenge of putting on weird makeup for three episodes when male guests will be in. Now, this is important. Everyone was convincing somin and she was reluctant but said yes. Amidst all the comments thrown at her, oppa said, but you could look cute with the makeups. Okay, so we are talking about WEIRD UGLY MAKEUP AND NOT CUTE, lol, but oppa ofcourse being the man, had to tell her that you could look cute which I took it as, you will still look cute regardless. And when she requested to do the makeup only for one episode instead of three, he also made it a point to cutely shout 'one episode' for her.
The most important thing here is when she mentions, i have an intent to get married through Runningman, and everyone teases her saying male guests and stufff... but unlike usually when oppa used to be the first one to say, somin, I will set u up with who and who and always teases her with guests; this time, he is QUIET when male guests were mentioned. When she mentioned: I am going to get married through Runningman, he lowered his gaze as if to avoid showing his reaction. He was REALLY QUIET during that time and I found that so cute.
In the last bit of 'balloon' game, unlike normally where somin gets scolded by oppa when she doesn't do well, he is again quiet when she was unable to throw and catch the balloon. Normally, he would throw mean comments to her and even suspect her of doing some mischievous things. But, every time she got something wrong, he is VERY QUIET and did not say a word. When sukjin oppa or jihyo got wrong, oppa was like furious (not in real of course) and made sukjin oppa suffer with so many outch comments!
The last thing, I would say is since the incidence where he has shared his 'interest' in somin indirectly, he has never argued nor complained with somin on the show despite somin being bad with games. And I found that deliberate. All in all, I do feel that, at this stage, they have an understanding of the attention they are receiving about their interaction and therefore are more careful. Despite that, minute moments such as the ones I saw makes me feel more strongly about them. I could be wrong.
Ahhh, insightful, extremely insightful. You also noted that he lowered his gaze when jsm mentioned 'l'm going to get married through RM'. The first time l noticed he did the same thing was in ep 433 when jsm shouted out that she wants to visit the ski resort again with her boyfriend. I'm not sure is this a habit of his or not. Maybe kjk's fans can enlighten us over this. Nevertheless. my favorite part in this episode is the 3 second unintended scene of their backs while both of them faced the museum exhibits. Priceless, oblivious to what's going on around them, daebak!!!

Lobsang Dolma yes I’ve watched three times now and I’ve noticed all those things by carefully watching them. When somin made the joke about Sukjin not letting her in the space and then he said “why are you trying to squeeze in” Kjk straight made sure he defended somin strongly because before that he was just enjoying somins joke. It’s all about the timing, also this episode specifically shows them always together, especially on the bus even if they go out they still managed to sit together when they go back in the bus. Also they’re always standing together or walking in front of each other. And once he wasn’t sitting next to her but he still managed to sit in front of her. In this episode he’s keeping his distance with SJH at the end, where everyone is holding hands but Kjk kind of ignores it. I don’t know if that’s just me tho. Lol

In Reference to when I started noticing and kind of got rooting for kookmin was last year as well even when kwangmin was being shipped along with spartace. I kind of had moments where I felt driven towards kwangmin due to the friendship they shared and I was doubtful that they might be something more. Although I did think kwangsoo shared an initial interest in somin which I still feel the same during ‘those’ times when he was single. I feel that them being too comfortable around each other was probably why they are really amazing friends only and I feel that’s the best thing. Despite all,I still was observing kookmin particularly with kjk oppa. Because he is one of the most transparent person when it comes to showing his feelings either through words or actions. During the past year when they did not share the ‘close friendship’ they have now, in my opinion, somin was someone who either through her outrageous actions or words kept on clinging onto kjk oppa’s mind and he showed his evident disappointments or anger towards her when she did not align with him/betrayed him. Even though he could have not liked somin’s actions at that point, he knew that was for the show but his reactions to her were genuine anger/disappointment which I think kept on bugging his mind even after finishing the shoots. Cause he would turn up for the next shoots holding the grudges against her and then later, he would be saying, am I being really petty? Even though somin might not have been in his ‘love interest’ sort of tangent, but she was someone who remained on his mind always I felt. He could have later come to admitting that with himself. Cause I think oppa is really bad in pretending to show that he does not like someone whilst he does. On MUD, when he was teased with Jin-young, he said, I would be a weirdo if I refuse jinyoung’s cute acts if I have something with her. So his reaction to refusing someone else’s approach towards him I feel are 100% real. The fact that he doesn’t refuse but even smile at somin’s cute antiques mean ALOT about oppa’s feelings. Period.
And somin’s text to oppa for a hangout was I think pivotal in affirming oppa’s feeling for somin and likewise for somin to see a different side of oppa.
Now with the attention they are getting about their interaction nowadays, regardless of whether they actually do share a special relationship or not, the best thing oppa can do is be far from somin on the show so that his genuine reactions won’t come out. what's with kookmin and number 4? 4 is considered the unlucky number yet they both picked it twice. could be because it is their birth month. when the members walk in, the pd asks them to choose the platforms they want to and jsm and kjk choose 3 and 4. kjk is tempted to choose number 2 in the round where he gets out but decides to stick with 4. jsm, when given an option between 4 and 5, chooses 4. they both get out coincidentally with the same number.
in the tofu episode when jsm is asked to choose the number of the spoon that will decide who bears her penalty, she chooses number 4 and kjk picks it to everyone's shock and delight. perhaps it is me, but i always feels their reactions cannot be termed shocked disappointment. it is more incredulity at the coincidence and if i may say so, it is a happy sort of incredulity. every time i watch this, i can literally see the blood rushing into jsm's face and her eyes welling up in shock. it also looks to me like kjk wanted to pick 4. he keeps telling jsj, it would be incredible if i pick 4, i would fill the empty spot and jsj says the spirit of variety shows is on your side. then when he picks it, he throws the spoon down in amazement. i know variety shows are scripted and they sell drama and this is an incredibly dramatic scene, but whenever i watch this scene, i see some real drama play out and feel their reactions have an element of truth to them. if this scene was about kjk and jsm teaming up for a couple race on the show, i could have rationalized the intensity of the reactions. but the reactions are very exaggerated for bearing the penalty and that always makes me wonder whether something more was going on. since this episode was shot a few episodes after the fortune telling forecast where kookmin were teamed up as most compatible partners without showing us what came off their forecast, i keep wondering.
I don't ship it romantically, I have loved Spartace for a long time and it never came to happen and I used to love Kwangmin before and I was clearly wrong about it 😂 so I am a bit hurt when it comes to shipping on Running Man and don't want to do it again hahaha. But I do love their recent friendship a lot and I just love how Jong Kook has warmed up to her. I also love how their friendship has warmed up lots of people to Somin, because many Jong Kook fans (and I say Jong Kook fans, not SHIPPERS) believe his judgement and clearly if he has chosen to become close with Somin that means she is a nice person. I just want to point out two underrated Kookmin moments though: in the ep last year where a fortune teller came to tell them their fortune, the fortune teller highlighted Kwangmin and Spartace (which I was shipping hard at the time) but in the end when the pairs were formed based on compatibility it was Jong Kook and Somin who were paired. Another missed moment is in the gym "yeobo!" episode (cannot remember the number, sorry) Jong Kook and Somin actually came up with her birthday special together 😂 She said she wanted an episode where she would go on dates and Jong Kook brought the idea that they all would chase her around. That episode became a reality, clearly showing that their combined ideas actually work out well. Anyway at the end of the day I am just happy to see the members become closer and a family. At first I thought Jong Kook had a little trouble getting used to Somin's personality so I do love how he has come around and they became friends. I love how she has also become closer to Haha, too! I love your channel and you are doing a great job and I hope me mentioning other ships doesn't bother you. I love all of the Running Man members and their relationships so I watch every video highlighting them as long as it is positive and happy ❤️

i have seen your comments under sbs and kocowa videos and i greatly enjoy them. good to see you here :)) i don't mind comments mentioning any ship here as long as it is not disrespectful to kookmin which yours clearly isn't. we have a few commenters here who were kwangmin shippers before and yours is the second comment from someone who used to be a spartace shipper. i can understand why fans used to ship spartace and kwangmin. both ships have members who are very similar to each other and have such close relationships (long friendships), so it is perfectly understandable.
with kookmin, the charm is in how different they are and the unpredictability that comes in when members with such different personalities interact. they also bring out new/rarely seen sides of the other and that is a pleasure to watch. i enjoy seeing kjk who usually gets upset when he is betrayed trying to anticipate how jsm will behave if a choice is given to her and doing what he can not to resent her if that happens. i enjoy jsm whose character is the female betrayer thinking over how kjk will behave if given a choice and doing what she can to gain his loyalty. it is hard for all of us to second guess our instinct and try to be in the other person's shoes before we make decisions and when i see that happen with these two, i feel happy. even as a friendship, theirs is one that will let them grow as entertainers and as people. i also love the fact that jsm took kjk's betrayal on the chin and didn't resent him for letting out her secret. she didn't judge him for that which made kjk feel regretful and go out of his way to make up. it is things like these where they behave very maturely even in ridiculous situations that makes me root for them.
again, like you said, both kjk and jsm have such interesting conversations/ideas when they talk and i love listening to them. in the first role play episode, kjk says he is the kind who tells his girlfriend about his past relationships and jsm asks incredulously "why would you do that?". later she says, "i don't want to know how many relationships my boyfriend has had since i will always keep wondering about his past" and then he gives her the reply "that is why it is better to tell everything at the very beginning". Flash forward to the jeju island episode, where she, to his question about memories, very candidly confesses she had come alone there with an ex which makes him reminiscence about the girlfriend he loved the most. They keep having these conversations out of nowhere that are very personal. kjk doesn't open up much about his personal life on camera unless he is probed about it, so it is always a pleasure when he does so. i don't know how to put it, though they are very different people and may not see eye to eye on many things, they connect at some deeper level or perhaps in the process to find common things to connect, they have reached a different level of understanding. that is the reason i love their whole dynamic - some inexplicable chemistry is there that creates these moments when they interact.
only bits and pieces of the two fortune forecasts were shown to us. who knows whether there were some forecasts made about kookmin in the first one? the second one wasn't shown at all. we wouldn't even have known it was there if not for the flashback with yjs or jsj trying to give some member a bottle of water which was the day's mission. jsm's element is metal and kjk's element is water. metal holds water like jsm herself says before the fortune teller comes in. so jsm is a good support for kjk (metal holds water) just like kjk is a good support for sjh (wood needs water). i am not an expert in numerology but that they were born 10 years apart, in the same month with their birthdates adding up to number 7 (jsm on april 7 and kjk on april 25) could all figure when it comes to something like fortune forecast. so perhaps they had greater compatibility with each other than with other members who were shown as having good compatibility with them. hence they were teamed up.
I agree. To me it's more about them being close friends for now. Let's also not forget :) JK was playing up in the early episodes, pretending that he was annoyed with somin. If you know jk's personality then you can tell when he is being serious or prending to be serious. HaHa even called it out in that fortune teller episode when he made the realisation himself "jong kook's cold act is a pretence...he takes good care of somin" not to forget in the episode where they were prisoners, jongkook and somin were pitted to look like rivals or something like that but in the end he still let her help him with the quiz and they high fived and in that same episode he gave somin the tofu in front of everyone, even the PD was shocked lol. I also remember a few eps after that, when somin pretended to vacuum jong kook the mosquito into the vacuum thing, the members tried to put it like they were rivals again but again suprisingly jong kook said "she's cute" (avoiding eye contact and playing with his football) then the room almost went silent but kwangsoo pipped up and said he's lying or something like that just to play up their rival-ship a bit more or just to tease somin lol
TFVids I shipped them on the early days of Somin but @kjk always on aloof side because of her personality & lks already form bond with her which awkward since kjk strict side & not easy to crack hehehe. I sometimes tell myself leave him alone girl in his lonely world until Jsm gave him flower & he accused her of wanting to sit near him. i have sympathy for fellow shippers who feel doubtful or hurt when things don't go like they think it should. i have been there last year so i can sympathise. unlike many of you, i don't think kookmin started this year. it became more of a committed relationship this year but the feelings were there. last year I kept observing these two people getting attracted to each other who were as different as chalk and cheese. the attraction meant they wanted to get close but were also going up against perplexing personality differences. remember last year was the year kjk became overjoyed when he 'won' jsm over lks in the rock paper scissors and got more upset than he should have been when she chose haha as the most handsome man in the team. yet when she gave him a flower, he could not believe she was doing it for real and suspected it was for a mission. as a viewer, we know jsm didn't give the flower to kjk because of any mission, but kjk thought it was weird for jsm to sit next to him and do that. Then jsm says, "no, i was trying to avoid you" and haha says now he will misunderstand again :) so kjk is unable to process jsm because she is so different from him and so unpredictable. is she doing these random things or is there more to it than that?
last year was also the year jsj asked jsm if she liked kjk since she was always observing him, also the year when she said kjk is handsome when he smiles and she would like to choose him as her husband, but it would be difficult to be his wife. there was also one instance when kjk makes a wry joke and haha confesses he doesn't know when kjk is joking and when he is serious and jsm replies that she also finds it hard. so for jsm too, kjk is a puzzle.
i was their silent shipper last year. i felt the attraction and believed they would make each other grow as people once they got to understand their personality differences. but there were many times when i got frustrated with them and felt this ship wasn't going to head anywhere. but something or the other would happen to make me come back to the ship. either my perspective would change or i would understand they were changing as people as the days went. whatever it was, i felt they were still holding on to something that stayed despite the personality differences and the possible conflicts.
for me, the issue is not whether they are dating or not. i, for one, believe they have some kind of stability in their relationship now like @Lobsang Dolma pointed out. the issue is whether they can go all the way. that will require patience to understand their partner's point of view, learn to accept their partner for what he/she is and above all, manage their growing relationship in a professional space that requires them to play their professional roles.
now the situation is tougher if they have started dating and are colleagues because there is the added pressure to play their roles while maintaining their relationship. but i also think about the possibilities ahead if they can learn from each other.
kjk needs to loosen up more, learn to enjoy the process of 'not winning' because it is not the end of the world and learn to enjoy taking even penalties. jsm, on the other hand, needs to learn to be more serious while playing games, needs to trust herself to rise to the occasion when her team needs her to perform for winning is finally half self-belief. if you believe you are a weak player, you won't succeed even if you have the ability.
as shippers, we have to understand the pressures of their work-place. that they have feelings/are dating is their business. their colleagues and the PDs expect them to do what they are paid for, which is to play their assigned roles and entertain us. so please be realistic with your expectations of how they should behave and that will help soften the blows of the turbulent weather on our way :))

yes, he looks excited when she is on his team. last year, he tried to act cool about it. but his pretence would always fall apart. in ep 413, he acts like he doesn't care if he gets her when they pull ribbons to get partners, but claps in happiness when they pull the same ribbon. the members tease them saying they are pretending to be happy. you can also see his tensed face when she has to pick the cabinet door. the one who is the most pumped up when they win normal uniforms is kjk. you can see kwang soo looking at him like "what has happened to this hyung?" He teases her when she drops their uniforms saying "are you that happy" after he charges towards her elated , but he is the one who can't hide his happiness. in episode 424 too, it is the same pattern. he acts like he hates playing rock paper scissors with the other men to win jsm, but looks really tensed as if his life is at stake. i think he is worried that he might lose the game. but when he wins, his joy is so evident that the others start teasing him. then he hides his face behind lks in embarrassment ;)
i noticed from this year, he has stopped denying that he wants to be in her team or wants to interact with her more. Like in the last episode, he tried to bring in gender balance as an excuse to choose her team :)) He also goes out of his way to interact with her. in a previous episode, she just wanted to use his shoulders as support for popping the balloons. It is he who decided lifting her would be a better idea. even when she wanted to give up, he was running behind her to help her. in this episode too, it looked like he was waiting for her to join him at the cold noodles restaurant and once she comes in, taps her, nudges her, pats her back and does a lot of cute skinship to play around and comfort her. :)) he also tries to catch her attention when she looks at yjs with a sorry face.

i too realized that when editing for this video. at 3:42, the shot is continuous till he reaches for her hand and then it gets cut off abruptly. if you noticed, the coach uniform they have edited on to kjk covers both their hands which must be quite close. it also makes kjk look taller than he is when you can see from the side shots that their heads are pressed close together. there is an awkward cut with jsj laughing which i have included at 4:54-4:55 where you can see jsm's and kjk's hair almost merge into each other. so much editing has gone into this. :)

yes, even before kjk says she is his dongsaeng, one can hear jsj using the word 'saraeng'. perhaps he meant to say the line which he says later. interesting that even before kjk opened his mouth, jsj had already understood that the flogging was going to be hard for kjk and that he needed encouragement :))
