If you have this low back pain presentation, make sure you have the base of your ribcage assessed. There could literally be a hidden connection there thats far too easily missed!
Hey mate thank you for taking the time to make this video. You're a real gentleman. I've been researching disc injuries for a while now. I've received some good feedback on this and I'll definitely make sure to give it a try myself. Can you please make a few more videos on this where you're actually testing a patient and trying this technique out
@@varuninnz will do mate! Logistically I can't do those kinds of videos atm but certainly on the cards down the track! Let me know how you go with the ideas in the video!
Hey mate I would like to give you one piece of feedback. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Feedback I would like to provide 1. please make sure to get a hand towel to place under your back. This needs to be placed in the hollow region above the butt crack. 2. You need to know how to roll onto your back if you're the type of person that lunges your way onto the floor laying on your belly. This is important because a lot of people are unable to lay on their backs when they developed disc injuries and they generally find a lot of relief by laying on their bellies. So they need to learn how to switch to rolling onto their back safely otherwise they may encounter a painful catch or a twitch. 3. I wouldn't recommend using a tennis ball. They are way to hard and they are too big to fit in between the curve in your spine
I seem to have plateaued with conventional PT. Perhaps moving the focus up the spine will initiate further improvement. I'll follow up if indeed your approach works out.
Hi Grant. You helped me so much with my Costo a couple years ago. A week ago I suddenly had lower right back pain with no obvious cause and yesterday I tried the tennis ball magic, but it wasn't so magical. My medium back pain suddenly turned severe after only two minutes of using the ball on it and now I can barely walk. It doesn't radiate to my leg so it's probably muscle not disc, but I was shocked at the change. Do you think the pressure strained the muscle? It's now so sensitive and painful It seems impossible to do anything but to wait out this mini nightmare. Any insights would be wonderful. Thank you.--TMac
Hey mate! Sorry to hear things are sore! I can't comment on your specific situation, but from a general standpoint - ideally I ask people to place the ball into areas that feel tight, stiff, and restricted. If there's pain there, but it doesn't feel restricted, then there's potential to irritate things rather than just settle them down. It's a subtle but important distinction to make. Hope it's settling again mate!
Hi again ! I felt better 3 days after your treat meant with the trigger point !! I don’t know if it is entirely cause of that but I think it helped a lot . Thank you
I have so much banded pain in my lower back, it's so tight and painful and my hips are so locked up that I have trouble walking down stairs. I have a full open radical hysterectomy with an incision from hip to hip 3 years ago and had an epidural. I've been to chiropractors, massage therapy, athletic therapist and different PTs and no one's been able to help me. I swear it's has to do with the epidural placement but no one has really focused on my mid-back. I wish I was in Australia so you could help me. It's so depressing to be in constant pain.

Hi! I’m not sure if I’m looking for the spot correctly . It is higher or lower from belly button .
Generally a little higher than the level of the belly button!
Thanks for the response ! I ll try it and let you know how it went .
