- This is it, the last dance... In today's video, I recap the last 3 years restoring my 1992 Sea Ray 380 Sun Sport. This boat is what helped my TH-cam channel take off and is a huge part of my boating career. It is time for the next project BUT WOW what a great boat this was. I look forward to sharing with you everything we did to get the boat where it is today... AND I look forward to passing her off to her next owner! (hopefully this video helps her sell...) Enjoy!
Welcome to Boat Restoration by Ben! This is a channel based around all things boat and yacht restoration related. I work full time in the marine industry and when I'm not at work, I'm currently restoring my one of a kind 1992 Sea Ray 380 Sun Sport. This is my 12th boat project! From $100 boats to 60 year old relics, I started small and worked my way up. Despite my best judgement, I buy boats that need A LOT of work and fix them up myself. I grew up boating at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, went to school to become an engineer, worked at John Deere for 5 years, and then decided to give it all up to pursue my dream to work in the recreational boat industry. Now having since moved to the Chesapeake Bay area, my mission is to share with the world my love and passion for mechanics and wrenching through my marine projects all while teaching you how to enjoy boats on a budget. I hope you Like these videos and please don't forget to Subscribe! Cheers, Ben. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I was so confused at first, i was like… i could’ve swore this dudes channel was “makin motor moves” or something with like the triple M logo thing. I watched the entire build series (i recent got myself a formula F20, found your formula videos) & watched basically all your content. Glad to see the boat is practically finished. Kinda wild that you’re selling it but I do the same thing lol. Keep up the content. If you’re bored, check out my light restoration. Floors, stringers & bulkhead replacement. 305 SBC rebuild. Can’t wait to get it on the water
What a valiant effort brother! Life is awesome if you're daring enough to chase after it. That boat wasn't going to come to you, you had to work your ass off for it. Well done.
Sea ray sun sport is such a great look! It still keeps up with the modern boats I think
Thats what B.O.A.T stands for.... Bring Out Another Thounsand....lol.. Great job. The restoration looks amazing.
I love watching your videos. I've been Boating for over 50 years. Owning one of these Sea Ray Cruisers, has always been a dream of mine.
Looks like you've got this boat about 95% finished. It's the cosmetic things that add up, and nickel and dime you on Boat's like this. Your price isn't unreasonable. I would suggest you focus on a different market. Boat buyers on the Great Lakes are definitely looking for these Sea Ray's. The fact you've got a trailer makes selling it to them easier, especially if you're willing to deliver it.
If it was me, I'd keep her, but I get the reasons why you're trying to sell it.
That means a lot to me! Thank you for tuning in. I could be a lot better at posting but I still have a full time job. Would love to do this full time!
What a beautiful project. Great job!
Hope she sells quick, onward and upwards
Dot 3 brake fluid removed rust stains from carpet for me. Recommended by a family member in carpet biz for 40 years plus!
amazing work 👍
Awesome looking boat. Y’all done, fine job beautiful. ….Tiny Houston MS
I've been watching your channel for while. Love the content. You helped inspire me to get a project boat for my son and I. Also, heads up there is a great looking 1995 Baja 420 that I think would be perfect for your channel that just popped up on the marketplace. It's cheap too!
That’s really awesome thank you very much. What project did you get?
Was nice to see your content learned alot !
In a perfect world, we get out what we put into a boat or car. It isn't a perfect world
Great job love the boat
Damn about time we love the content
Finger crossed for something from this century next.
Hi Ben..great video..an long!..but watched it all..well done matey!
I noticed the Bayliner Advani just down from you..ive got the same one..1988..in the process right now doing a refit on her..OAL..32 feet..subed
That boat was so ahead of its time ! My buddy’s uncle owned one new .. had to be a doctor or a drug dealer to afford one new ..
15K???? They laughed all the way to the bank!!
We purchased our Sea Ray 390 EC, with a dinghy, all turn key ready in pristine condition for 38K
I use bleach and water to remove stains in v berth. But you could also put some wood trim around that place where the rust is
bleach is very hard on stitches.
Great sunday morning. Just watched all your videos today on this boat. Amazing job. Hope it goes to a good home. You start off with 2 iowa men buy a boat but you live in Maryland. Just curious. Thanks. From another boat owner in Long Island new york 😊
I moved from Iowa to MD.
for the rust stains, try a product called iron out
My favorite party of Scotty is that his car channel is secretly disguised as a finance channel, and no one is the wiser.
Who the heck is Scotty?
Try garment dye to mask the pulled, rusted staples on the interior
Muriatic acid removes rust stain from fiber glass very well just don't let it touch your skin
Nice boat youve fone alot of work to it but those aren't HEI distributors
Misspoke. You are correct.
Use oxalic acid to take off the rust stains
After all that hard work why are you selling it!
500 hours is about time for a rebuild with inboard gas engines
Thats not true.
@@BoatRestorationbyBen has been for every inboard bbc engine I've had. Rebuilding one now that had 440 hours on it.
I paid 1500 for boat little nicer then that. 1 good motor other just need head fixed. Bigger cabin
Just cover the rust stains and ugliness with fresh marine vinyl. Glue it down to the stains.
You need to show complete restoration it’s half assed restored
There are plenty of forgotten yachts, why don't you give it a shot on Ben's budget and see where you get. I'd love to watch more content like this and hopefully you can humble yourself in the process.
I really do not understand why you would have done a temporary repair that way. Atleast you could have put a layer of glass over the top of that….
Seriously, how many adds can you have on one video? Seriously
Pay the money to lose them
I don’t usually subscribe to channel that have that many adds
Wow. Didn't even show it driving. Narcissist.
There are a few shots of it driving.
Every time he uses it, another major issue arises. lol.
To much talking less work bullish
Best days for a boat owner. When you buy it, and when you sell it.
CLR removes rust. I’d test it in a inconspicuous space first tho
Seriously, how many adds can you have on one video? Seriously
Sorry! It’s not me it’s TH-cam. Hour long videos get peppered with ads!
