    Thanks Charlie, this model KS-Q18AWZD is an extraordinary master piece from LG, once required temperature is reached i put the energy saving mode to 40% with lower fan speed then run with my home inverter [Luminous 1100 sine wave] and voila! it runs also.

    Greetings,
    Very nice review and detailed. I would like to know what is the app you are using to measure Noise? and is it available on iPhone?
    Also, how would you feel you electricity bill is doing? did you save money installing only 1 ac? does the inverter takes a long time to reach the set temperature? and where is the inverter tech is best installed in an apartment?
    I would install it in bedrooms and living rooms only. And, I would install the normal compressor (on/off) in the kitchen, storage room and extra rooms with little utilization.
    What do you think?
    Thanks

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Nimesh!! The features on the new 2022 model should be identical to this one, they have just moved the AI feature from mode button to 6-in-one and the condenser has ocean black coating instead of gold fin, everything else is exactly the same. Low gas detection will display an error code on the display. If you take care of the unit and clean it every year, the gas will never leak.

    Hi. Just wanted to draw everyone’s attention. That I’m April 2019 I was sold a 1.8 ton Lg on the pretext of it being a 2 ton. The model that I have is. KS - Q24SNXD. It’s cooling capacity is rated at 6200 watts. Amp rating 9.6. When I convert this into tons it comes to 1.8 tons. A clear case of misrepresentation. Tech guy Charlie is this normal because other manufacturers clearly state it in the specifics. I came to know this too late for me to go back and dispute it. I like tech too so it would be nice to connect. By the way I too have the same temperature and humidity sensor that I bought from banggood. Please reply.

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is normal for a 3 Star rated AC, not misrepresentation, every brand does this not only LG. That is how companies differentiate between 3 and 5 star models.

    • @piruzjassawalla6261
      @piruzjassawalla6261 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Tech Guy Charlie. So the fact remains that it’s 1.8 and not 2 tons. Mitsubishi electric in their GR and GRT models have shown that Cooling capacity matches tonnage. Anyways I thank you for clarifying.

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem and, Yup! It is indeed 1.8 Tons. I am guessing those Mitsubishi models will be 5 Star rated? 5 Star models are always close to the rated capacity, unfortunately, LG does not sell 5 Star 2 Ton models.
      Cooling should not be an issue though, mine is installed in our dining room and even though we need 2 1.5 Ton AC's this single 1.5Ton cools just fine no matter how hot it is outside.

    Der is so crowd on TH-cam for tech reviewers but der is hardly a few videos of ac, as u done....
    This time u didn't mentioned total power unit consumption of 6 hrs as u did in last LG inverter ac review, I guess it was 3.52 units for 6hrs, Plz provide unit consumption figures of this model also...

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much, Sunil, I wish I could do a power consumption test, but I cant because this AC is installed in our living room which also has the main entrance door + dining room with attached kitchen so, the power consumption won't reflect real-life usage as it would be if this AC was installed in a bedroom, also the thing is ideally you would need 2 1.5Ton AC's to cool such a big area, so the power consumption would be more with just 1 AC. That is why I skipped over power consumption tests.

It might be faster if you select that Jet mode - at least it should be. Plus you're room is ½ the size. Took me a while to get used to the lag time.

Once the room is cool... it will maintain same running at 80 or 60% and if u want to run it using 40% make sure ur room is not facing direct sun from any direction or top and the heat load ( interior or PPL in room are to minimal like 1-2)

      Let me try and answer your questions:
      1. You can cross check the model of your AC on LG's website to confirm if its got WiFi or not.
      2. A 24x7 operational home WiFi is recommended, although it will work on a mobile hotspot, it is not recommended.

      It must be an older model, LG moved to r32 long time ago. R410a has been phased out for r32.

      It should connect back to the internet automatically after power outage, mine always does, havent re-configured mine since the first time I've set it up. I guess contact LG? or switch off the main power and switch it back on after 5 minutes.

    What is the lowest power consumption after it reaches desired temperature?

    Very informative. Few weeks back I have purchased LG dual inverter 1.5 T - 4 * split. On the label it indicates power as 7.1 Amp. But my readings are 4.1 Amp only. Grill temperature with alcohol type thermometer shows 20 C . Purchased on 14 March 2021.
    I was not happy about installation from the beginning. Outdoor unit and indoor unit are closeby. My doubt - whether the required amount of gas is filled. Installation guy not responding. Is the amperage correct. My room is small. Cooling is ok. How to check 1.5 T is 100% or down. Pl suggest me how to check. What is the brand of the power meter you are using! Looks to be latest.

      I think your AC is fine, if there was a gas leak, the AC will show an error code on the display. And as for power consumption, these ACs almost never run at 100% power unless its very hot outside, its a power saving feature.
      For example, in this video I got 1440 watts of power consumption, it was on a warm day, if I run the AC at night when its cool outside, the power consumption will always be below 1000 watts.
      What you can do is, on a hot day, let your room warm up to at least 30 degree, switch the AC, leave your door open and after 2-3 minutes measure the power consumption. I use Meco power guard pg09.
