I was in several firefights like this in Kunar. It always seemed like we were dumping insane amounts into the mountains and frankly you can't really tell where the fire is exactly coming from but it was often overwhelming.. I had a bullet literally lodge into the AT-4 over my shoulder in the turret and several bounce off my shield. Often about 10-15 minutes into the fight our 155s would start impacting and it made a GIGANTIC difference. As dusk would come around it literally would look like star wars with all the tracers.
My brother said the same. my brother was on the 240 (idk what the marine designation of the 240 is but he had the 240 idk if its 240 bravo or??) but he told me he was legit pissed that the firefights were so far away then he got what he wished for. he had hand to hand combat near marja i think im not exactly sure. he and his squad were clearing out a village and they got ambushed the elders set them up. he went to flank around to give his boys effective fire from the opposite side behind the enemy, and lo and behold he turned a corner and 3 taliban or maybe al-qaeda (he thinks they were taliban) ran into each other amd his buddy heard him and shot one of them and he killed one with the 240 on his hip but the other guy charged him and luckily he got a few shots off and stabbed rhe guy when all else failed. after he killed those two dudes he was in shock for a minute so his boys took him “out” of the fight for literallt a minute then threw him back in sense he got ahold of himself, and unlucky for him he ran around another corner and an IED exploded. took both his legs off and a hand. Love my brother so much.

@@HighPotatoo I'll give it to them they probably all built there own houses and the newer style is called ramed earth they mix in a tiny amount of concrete into the dirt and then they the pack the earth down I've seen some of these being built in Arizona and new Mexico they build the walls so thick so that they dont need ac or heat it's a thermal barrier

Seeing you two react to this stuff really makes me wish I was able to enlist. The Almighty had other plans for me though. I was in a near fatal car accident that jacked me up just before I was going to enlist back in 1993. I fortunately was able to work in LE...which I ended up getting medically retired out of back in 2013.

I’m conflicted by this! My father was a Vietnam veteran from 67-69 and then spent the rest of his life trying to forget the horrors of war! It kinda surprises me to see people who are supposed combat would love watching it so much! My dad doesn’t glorify being under siege in khe sahn for 2 months! He is haunted by the memories and if I put on a video of that battle he would probably beat my head in (not really) but he does NOT want to relive that at all! So I’m not doubting his service, but I’m gonna bet he had plenty of down time as well! Something that veterans of the past didn’t get that luxury! War is hell! But unfortunately necessary one some times. And not taking away these veterans at all! I appreciate anyone who puts on the uni! And these 2 wars were war! No downplaying at all! But these guys were very lucky to have a good bit of safety when not on a mission. And I’m happy they did! Being in combat for long periods of time can break the mind and has many times! But like I said I hate watching Glorification of such a horrible thing
Highly recommended for the next combat footage video watching “Jamsheed the RPG god boss” and “What it’s really like to fight for the Islamic state”. Two very funny videos to throw in there for a laugh. They won’t disappoint.

21:22 - this video is insane. 3 man team ambushed a unit on a patrol. Dude w/ RPG steps out and ole boy w/ helmet cam drops the hammer first. They take out #2 about 4 minutes into the video, the rest is a one-man-stand. If you look at time between intensities, hes reloading all the systems available in his trench.
I'm trying to find it and I can't. Based on what they say, it's the 3rd Infantry Division ("It's 3rd ID!"), but beyond that I'm not sure what to search. Edit: Nevermind, they show the name of it.

Do you guys struggle with PTSD after reviewing these video clips? My husband (100% disabled/severe ptsd + physical injuries &pain/ army combat medic/ ramadi, iraq 05-06) cant watch stuff like this at all. He hadnt shot a guyn since iraq... He wont unless necessary. Im just curious how yall deal with ptsd, if you have it. (Obviously i know EVERYONE is different)

This gave me goosebumps & made my heart race. I never saw combat when I was enlisted in the Navy, but I have friends who were literally in the shit & I've lived vicariously through their experiences.
After working 14 days straight at my local hospital (nurse) I finally had 2 days off , I watched military videos all weekend from history Channel called warfighters freaking awesome ...God bless you guys and god bless 🇺🇸 🇺🇲

Was that 4th of July FOB attack the one where the VBIED was so large it knocked out an Aerostat balloon? I saw a FOB attack like that filmed from a ridge and they drove a huge semi-truck into the gate and the explosion was so large it popped the aerostat like 2000ft above the FOB. I saved the video link but it was removed the next time I went to watch it.

Definitely gonna side on the mk12 theory. It’s a 5.56 and those are standard AR stang magazines so it would make since as the M110 and the RSASS use the 7.62x51 NATO round
