In answer to the question on "how do I know when to replace the ball joint" - as mentioned in the captions, you'll hear a clunking sound when you go over a bump or rough patch. You can also jack the front up and pull on the wheel in the vertical plane and if you feel (or see if someone else pulls the wheel and you look behind at the ball joint) any movement. There should be no movement at all. If it's the wheel bearing you'll get movement on the horizontal plane as well plus you'll feel it as a vibration as you drive so it's easy to differentiate. @@autodocuk, You also need to mention the torque of the bolts (Nm) and not just mount the bolts and nuts and just tighten them a little bit, little bit too less imo ! For the rest these videos are great, but before making and uploading, take all these things into consideration before. Thanks.

Mine doesn't clunk as such but makes an abrasive, springy squeak. I guess it's on the way out anyway.

No he means the torque used to fasten the two nuts which is HIGHLY IMPORTANT AND USE TRHEADLOCK you can die from improper fixing
