For the plane with a rotary engine, that’s not a bad choice. Those engines are built for endurance and constant rpm’s. Just tend to use a lot of oil.

the big problem is synthetic oil through the OMP creates a nice engine knock flavored Jell-O on the rotor.

Wankel engines are actually quite reliable at high revs, making it the perfect engine for an aircraft, until... it isn't haha.
The Mazda 787 did a Le Mans race ages ago and it got first place, the engine was fit to run the race again amazingly!
Sadly rotaries really suck at low revs, as many parts are quite unreliable and would often break thus making each rotary serving over 80,000 km require a rebuild
Rotaries don't have a lot of torque at low rpm, but then again, why would you expect high torque outside of it's powerband? Other than that, it's got pretty good torque all throughout it's powerband.
"Many parts are quite unreliable" Nobody who has ever seen the working parts of a rotary would claim this. The entire point is that it's a very reliable engine with very few moving parts. The only part that you could call unreliable are the apex seals. They generally don't last over 100,000km, but that's it. If a seal does fail, you'll lose power and efficiency, but it'll still drive. It's a part that sees wear over time, and needs to be replaced just like timing belts.

The Overland Octoauto is a one-of car which was built and showed off at Indianapolis 500, but nobody ordered any (blame the car's price of $3200, or over $100,000 adjusted for inflation). The 20 foot monster was designed to offer a much smoother ride experience (a big deal when shocks weren't a thing and roads were horrible), done through adding two extra axles for more surface area.
