Mission 11: Battle of Serpentholm II
Description:
As Kenji is overseeing the repairs being done on the Serpentholm keep, he gets word that Otomo has rebelled and allied himself with the Wolf. The Dragon Clan has bases in the middle and the southern rice field whilst the Wolf has bases in the north and northeast. Destroy both to continue. During the fight, Shinja, the Necromancer, a Bandit and two Zombies will arrive from the right of the map to help you.

Mission 10 and 11 of the Kenji Serpent Clan are some of the hardest if not the hardest Campaign Mission

Thanks for this tip, this strat was the only way I had a chance in this map on hard mode, a lot harder than Utara mission for me.

When I played this mission a few years ago, I thought spamming Ronin was the way to go. I didn't realize until later that each unit has resistances and weaknesses to different damage types (for the Ronins, explosive and magic). I could only watch in frustration as my Ronins get hammered by pitch slingers, chemists and powder kegs (dealing explosive damage) from range. I even thought Ronin has a decent winning chance especially with superior numbers, against Samurai, only to find out they got a kamikaze (explosive) attack upon death, which deals mostly moderate area of effect damage but chews through even a half health Ronin around them. Even Kabuki warriors and Druidesses, especially when protected by nearby allies, are a pain to face with their magic damage attacks, not to mention their debilitating abilities (Druidesses' uproot = pretty much mini stun chance per attack; Kabuki's flash powder = blindness: reduces enemy damage).
I tried using other units as frontline support, by combining Ronin with troops like muskeeters (especially with sniper scope; normal attacks also good vs buildings and explosive weak units), raiders (fire attack = good vs buildings) and of course fan geisha for healing (+ heroes and Necromancer). The Ronins can survive a bit longer with these supporting units, still they're too costly in time and resources to train new ones.
I noticed in this mission that no additional Ronins (not counting the starting one) were trained. Perhaps I could guess why, one possible reason being they're costly in terms of time and resources needed for training and they don't trade effectively against tier 2, even tier 1 units with explosive and magic damage. They're a bit slower too when compared to other tier 3 units (only beating the warlock's "sprint" speed), making it a bit harder to disengage when in combat. I think I can see now why other units were used in this mission instead of using Ronins. Still that's just my speculation.
According to some data, it's better to produce lots of bandits than the ronins because bandits has no true weaknesses unlike the ronins.
@@mikasauchiha6785 Agreed. From what I saw they have pretty well-balanced resistances too. Kabuki warriors, from what I saw, are one of the units that give them a hard time though.
this doesn't work anymore, due to (i think it's an update) Otomo's fireworks men, I can't beat it
The old battle realms. I have aced this easily. But on the latest version updates.. It's complicated as hell! I can't finish it now..
Wolf builds base on Dragon and Dragon builds base on wolf. Sooooo hard while you seize the dragon clan, the wolf can prepare and attack you!

@@badpenguin4592 The same version you are playing. You made it look so easy... Took me 20+ attempts to nail it xp...
Try another method. One without triggering shinja comin in. makes it even mooooore difficult and next to impossible. In the old days I could seize the dragon base bottom easily.
But it's fun. It's the most intense part of the plot so it deserves that difficulty.
