Am I the only one who killed Budo during this Mission? To add insult to injury, I got one phesant supported by 5 fan geishas to attack him. That's what he get for talking smack to the Serpent.

Seriously Budo gave me the chills.
This is one of the best games I have ever played. I loved everything about it, the gameplay, the "heroes", the clans, the skirmish mode even though I was only able to play vs ai, and most especially the story mode. I also really loved the concept arts dedicated around the characters in this game back in the day. Man, this brings so many memories when me and my older brothers used to take turns on the family computer to play skirmish. My favorite clan to play as was prolly between the wolf clan or the lotus clan because they had Koril. I also really loved the thematic concept of this game as well. I think that the imperial Japanese warfare-inspired theme (throw in a little sorcery and science magic there) is what gives charm to the game, not to mention the aesthetics such theme brings. I think there's a great potential to the story and its characters for an expanded world and loreship. With that said, I'm wishing one day there will be a remake of this game, or even a remastered version would be great. (I know a Zen version of this game exists in steam client but I don't think it counts as a remastered, does it?)

Shinja is still loyal to Kenji in Serpent's path. He submitted to the strong not weak. Dragon Kenji could have had him too but he is too obsessed with the orb.
While the Dragon path is a good story in itself, Serpent Path is my most favorite for Kenji. Not because I like Kenji to be bad than good, but rather, his story in this campaign is much more interesting imo and the voice actor is much more emotional rather than the boring Dragon Kenji. Plus, he gets to keep a very loyal subordinate in his side (Shinja) that survives while Otomo dies in both Dragon and Serpent campaign and gerts replaced by Kazan.
@@elkasbrian8862 Otomo is a beast on the very first release of Battle Realms, and Zymeth, Grayback and Longtooth are just outright monsters in gameplay until WOTW nerfed their resistances for more balanced PvP (except Kenji because he's the MC).
Be honest, if we were a Serpent peasant in the Battle Realms world, we wouldn't care about how our leaders would rule us. We'd still be mad at the fall of our clan and be filled with such fury and anger that we'll take anyone so as long as someone leads us against those Wolf savages and Lotus creeps who are tearing what's left of our country apart. If the Serpent's Son is a nice guy, all the better but as long as the guy freaking cleans the trash, we'd all follow him.
It's a shame they didn't make a sequel. I wouldmbe happy if they released a remake with updated graphics, but this game and its story is just crying for an expanded universe.

The game is out on Steam (Early access) and it costs only around $6. Do your part and support the game! If enough people does, we'll get a lot of updates, fixing bugs and improving the game and if it gets enough support, we just might get a sequel. :)
You did a good job with this, a mod I got recently messes with the cutscenes so I was forced to watch this. Thanks for making me realize what I was missing. Also, you chose the Monks while playing as Serpent? Bit ironic to have them alongside a Necromancer.
How come Ninjas are better with a Necromancer? I mean... Monks vs Ninjas I know Monks kill them faster. But how do they work better with the Necromancer?
Monks are better fighters and like Shinja said, cannon fodder. Ninjas are best for scouting which would be a bit useful for someone playing the campaign for the first time but even decent players already know how to beat the campaign easily so monks are superior. . The only downside is that I think the monks won't get stronger the more Yin you have since they are sided with Yang but that won't really matter anyways. . Plus, since you'll be fighting the Wolf, monks are pretty great since their attack (blunt) is the weakness of Wolf units like Berserkers and Sledgers. And with Tao, you'll get 6 of 'em which means you'll have a decent melee group to distract the enemy whilst your snipers and smoke-spamming cannons sit at the back and shit all over whatever comes your way.
Alied Jones definitely more imposing and like assertive sort of way. He's more like a ''you do this or you die'' sort of person. Which i like. Kind of a reflection of how you should be in real life.

Serpent had the best music theme tho, although I prefer Dragon campgain. Game screams for expansion of the universe, adding more clans & more storylines.
yo this is how you do it, hope you havent given up! use ability to connect lifeforce of kenji to the ronin then immediately attack the wolf base which i think is south, then set up there and then only one army - otomo - will be attacking you. it works cos the enemy is building base at the same time as you, so earlier you attack, easier it is
Serpent is easy mode compared to dragon. In serpent your mortal enemy is wolf and wolf is kinda weak against serpent. But in dragon you'll face lotus, and lotus magic is effective against dragon.
Dragon > Serpent Serpent > Wolf Wolf > Lotus Lotus > Dragon Yea, he's right about the part where Serpent is sort of an easy mode. Serpent has anti-shale weapons so they win against Wolf. They're also quick in gathering resources. With Dragon, besides the Dragon Warrior and Kabuki, everyone else is weak against Lotus' magic.

some people say kenji in the serpent's banner have more enemies and fewer allies but i don't agree with it. In this path you can actually recruit more heroes. If you know how to choose the region then you can have kenji, vetkin, utara/koril , ninja/monk (and also Tao if you choose the to destroy the monastery). Otomo will die either path you choose, so if you select serpent path you still have Shinja.

I forgot the Part of the Chapter but you can see him on a mission on a Mountain While you are Fighting the Lotus, then u can see his being negociating with koril about sobans golem too fight but soban refuse then shinja then invite him, but u can still recruit koril to the serpent.
