    👁 About this video : First up on the list is to never floor it to try and get unstuck. This will actually get your truck even more stuck, because there is less friction between the tire and the ground making you continue to spin. Getting unstuck should be controlled and worked slowly to gain every bit of traction possible. It's when the truck is going zero that you don't want to spin, because you won't move at all. It would be helpful to have some recovery boards or a tow strap or even a winch in this case.
    Next up is switching into 4 low. This should only be done when the vehicle is stopped and the truck is in neutral. Most vehicles now have a lock out to where it won't work unless you are stopped and in neutral. When you use 4 low, the front axle will be "locked" with the rear axle to spin at the same rate so in order for them to sync and be locked properly, the rear axle needs to not be moving in order to do so. By not following this procedure, you can risk putting added wear and tear on mechanical components which would cost a lot more than taking the time to do it correctly.
    When to use traction control VS not to use it is next. Traction control is your friend when you are out on the roads, driving in the snow, ice or rain and is designed to keep you safe and detect when a tire starts to spin to allow the truck to stay stable and on the road. Traction control is not your friend offroad, in this case, you should know what you are doing off the pavement and use the full capabilities of the truck by turning it off. This will allow the tires to spin if needed and allow you to have full control of the throttle to get through whatever terrain it may be!
    Cleaning your vehicle is very important after a great day on the trails! This will keep your truck in proper working conditions for the time you are driving out on the roads and keep everything mechanical working properly as well. Inspect the underside of the vehicle for rocks or branches that could be trapped within the frame or brakes and make sure you are ready for the drive home. This will keep your truck in great shape for the long run and you can still have fun on the trails! The best of both worlds!
    Last up is to not lock differentials on the pavement. This is a recipe for disaster for sure because this means that both the wheels on the same axle are now locked to spin at the same rate. That's great for the trails because the wheels have less friction and can still spin fine in loose rocks or sand, but on dry pavement, friction is greatly increase and you will experience wheel skid or spin especially turning and case greatly increase stress on the mechanical components of the truck.

    I was test driving a jeep wrangler today. Drove up a hill in a neighborhood. Not knowing anything about 4wd i put it into 4wd high to test it up the hill. Didnt know you wernt supposed to do that. Went to turn around in a coldesac (sharp right turn in 4wd) and the right wheel churped or skipped. Did this twice before i took it out of 4wd. Thankfully i was basically at a stop and turning very slow and stopped after about 3 chirps both times. I didnt know you wernt supposed to do that. After i took it outta 4wd it drove just fine. I hope i didnt ruin anything as i really want to purchase this jeep....its a 2018 wrangler sport s. Would love some feedback....thank you for the great video.

      4 hi should be fine, it only sends power to the front wheels when needed. you can use 4hi on pavement. I wouldn't use 4low on pavement, but a few times shouldn't hurt anything.

    Very informative video. I think most of us never utilize most of the characteristics of our vehicles. I don't use some, because I feel I don't know enough about them, and don't want to do something wrong. Thanks.

      Glad it was helpful! Most of the time out on the roads, nothing will be used so it's always good to at least get off the pavement to run though 4wd every so often!

    Hey! Really enjoyed this video! Thanks for the tips and advice. Some of the things you mentioned I already knew about, but never fully knew about 4high and low etc!! I reckon it would be super cool to do a proper off road trail in a 4x4!! One last thing, what mode would you recommend for driving in snow or ice?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's definitely a lot of fun taking them offroad and seeing what they can do! In the snow or ice, I would use 4 high. That's what I've done in the past and it just gives you more traction when you need it from the front tires!

    What shifter do you put on to drive regular on highway or on street

      The shifter on the left should be all the way up into 2H for regular driving!

    Ey what do you sudgest the yamaha r3 or yamaha mt10

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on if it's a first bike for you. The R3 is a great beginner, it's light weight and very maneuverable, the MT10 is a 1,000cc bike, it's got some torque to it. We did a review on an MT09 if you want to check that out. th-cam.com/video/k9qWVN5aqc4/w-d-xo.html

    Thanks for the video! Something worth pointing out though - the official Mopar video on the wrangler’s transfer case says you must be slowly rolling to shift into 4L, not stopped

      Can you share that? You have to be stopped to engage 4 low, otherwise it won’t work or engage.
