Once I got over those associations with cumin and began treating it like any other spice, I suppose I became less sensitive to it? 🤔 Seems like the cumin only lasts for the first third of the fragrance anyway, and afer that it's pure fruity chypre goodness. One of the VERY few designer bottles that I have a back up. With so many mediocre and trashy woody ambers being released nowadays at 3-10 times the price, it's almost as if Femme has even INCREASED in value. I bought this because of Joao. It arrived months ago but I didn't try it till today- it is so beautiful! Sexy, vintage. I can't wait to wear it tomorrow. Right now I have got it on my legs because it's summer and up top I am wearing Blackbird by Olympic Orchids which is fir trees and juicy blackberries. It is so good! The two are good together, though not mixed on the same part of my skin. Anyway I smell fantastic. The cumin is there to make it sexy, a little B O note in a way but it completely disappears and adds a savory aspect like Rosendo #5 in a way- although completely different of course. What a masterpiece! Did you know he did so many crazy techniques to create it. It is so good. For me it will be gorgeous behind other fragrances- perhaps a vanilla even. I agree with you about how cheap it is haha. I got a new bottle not a vintage. I bet the vintage ones are great as well! I am so into Tochas now- I need to get Citron Soleil❤
I have a recent edt - first couple of sprays were burning cumin - I was so fed up I almost threw it away! I did a few more sprays, gave it a shake and left the cap off for two weeks, put the cap back on and left it for another few weeks. Tried it this morning: omg, it is lovely - so many subtle notes in a well-rounded blend - gentle, plump fruit, soft florals, and just a prickle of spice. Easily unisex by today's standards. Am going to buy another bottle just for the hell of it! Never had such a u-turn in my appreciation of a fragrance before!!
Wow. I’m glad you shared that. For those who didn’t like it at first like us. But many times our brain just needs time to adjust. This is one of the best fragrances ever.
@PamsSmellyGoods Update: my new bottle arrived, and I wanted to compare it to the other bottle, which has settled down into a truly delicious scent. The first sprays from the new bottle smell as bad as the other bottle initially did - this perfume absolutely needs macerating - I always suspected that the macerating process was a bit of a myth, but it really is a thing. I will release some more sprays, shake, and leave the cap off for a couple of weeks. No wonder bottles frequently appear on ebay with just a couple of sprays missing!! 😯 Edit: apparently, the correct term is maturate or oxidate - maceration is a soaking process.

@@sillybollox2244i actually didn't like mine when I first sprayed it too about six months ago. The cumin! But now I LOVE it.
