This is the best video on how to become an MRI technician that I've seen. It covers everything you need to know, and I didn't have to watch any other videos. Thank you for all the great information!
4:24 - ARRT does require 1000 experiential hours to sit for the board exam.
MRI Technician is a great way to segway into the medical field. By obtaining an Associate's Degree, it is possible to earn a stable income with great job growth. Classes and the school can be difficult but will be well worth it in the future. Good luck!
Technologists **
@@HmoobGamingWhat do you mean?
@@BabylonGateLA Technologists use the MRI machines to take images, technicians fix the machines. The 2 are totally different
mri technologist
hello im looking to get into the medical field but not sure which route to pick. im good with tech and would be better in something like this than a nurse.
ive been advised to become a medical assistant to start and then once i get my foot in the door i can get a better idea of what i want to do from there. ive also been told though that its more efficient to pick something like a radiology program instead of wasting my time doing the 1 year MA and then deciding to go into radiology after that.
thoughts or advice?
I spoke with someone who is an MRI tech and he works 3 12-hour shifts? Is this common? That type of schedule sounds wonderful.
Depends on the hospital, but 12 hour shifts are common for a few professions.
If i wanted to get an associates first and then do an mri program, what can i major in. I want to go to a regular uni first but many don’t have radiological tech as major, so what would be other options. Is getting a bachelors worth it ?
I'm a senior in BS Biomed Science. How to get into MRI program and which school do you advise?
Thanks
I wanna get into it but I have disibility. I only got one arm? Would this be very challenging?
I have already graduated with a BS in health science studies. What would be my best path to MRI tech?
They are MRI Technologists, NOT technicians. Big difference.
What is the difference, if you don’t mind me asking?
@@keebhaavana3387 one uses the machine (technologist), one fixes the machine (technicians)
@@keebhaavana3387Technicians work on the machines. Technologists operate the machines a lot more training required.
@@keebhaavana3387 technologists position the patient, take the images and actually perform the exams, but technicians fix the machine when it's broken and such. as someone in school do be a technologist....I wouldn't know anything about how to fix a machine error
do states like California require a rad tech certification first?
Hi
I am graduate in medical imaging technology from North Cyprus and my university is not recognized by JRCERT and ARRT. Is there any possible way for me to become mri tech in california?
Hey! I’m 53 and find myself needing to change careers. Would this be good for someone my age?
Why not ? Go for it
Can I go into an mri certification program with a bachelor’s in sociology? I don’t have an associates in radiology or related field just my soc degree
Most of the time, yes. But you should check with the individual programs in your area that you're considering.

Do I NEED to have an associates degree to get into an MRI program? Is there no way I can just get into a trade school for this without any requirements?
I know an MRI tech making 325k a year in nyc but he had 2 jobs
How is MRI math related? Is it a math/physics heavy program?
Yes... physics is the main thing.. my coworker is in the program and she said it’s mainly physics 😮
Who are operate MRI they are not technician, they are MRI Techologist or Radiographer.
*technologist
It’s technologist not technician.
Start by not calling them “technicians”
Technologist not technician
