i noticed he didn't mention how these can be used on the ground. As a groundsman i absolutely love these in ground work. choking the brush pile you are going to drag really helps reduce the awkward strain on your body by pulling everything together and holding it together. there have been many times i had a pile that was nice at rest, however in a long drag a piece or two can be pulled out of place making it awkward. the sling prevents this. a choker from rope will serve the same purpose, but the rope is grabbier so it doesn't slide against the branches as easily its bulkier, not convenient to keep in your pocket. i always have one of these in my pocket while working.
if you like slings in ground work you can lay the sling on the ground first then stack your pile on them. if the chipper is running you can take the pile to the chipper and getting the butts onto the chute (the lip, only) is easier as there is very little chance of one dropping out on you. if the chipper isn't running and you're making many piles, if you have enough slings you can just leave the sling on making the piles easier to pick up when its time to chip.
working with them on the ground (if you haven't been already) takes some getting used to and developing a feel for what suits your work style. the 5' slings are best for this in my experience. also when you have a dead tree and a lot off woody sticks its great for choking a pile of them as well.
much of the use of the sling is negated when you have a good tarp or tarp bag, but not all. it is also excellent when you need extra grip on a branch thats hung in the tree and hard to get a good grip and pull at the same time.
anyway, just wanted to share some of the uses for these on the ground. they are only limited by your imagination, and practicality. sometimes they are'nt worth the time to set up, sometimes they may cost a moment to use but reduce strain on your body, and sometimes they save both strain and time.
and one more thing. i ALWAYS keep one of these on my saddle so if i don't realize i need 2 lanyards or forgot to grab the second, i can tie in with one of these choked around the stem and clipped to my saddle with a biner or rope snap, then safely reposition my lanyard.

That's cool but the tree care grammar police department is here. You will put the pile you dragged on to the lip of the chippers feed table not the chute. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I keep two grenade pouches on my saddle....three Dyneema slings in each one..... utterly indispensable for me at this point in my career - I'd be lost without them...

Why isn't the log available through the website?

Can any of these be used with the 3/4" isc yellow rigging blocks? Instead of a loopie or woopie type rope

A loop runner is kind of small to match with such a large block

@@user-ku2qb1pq7e what do you recommend for a quick anchor point for 3/4" yellow large isc block. As I feel everything I buy always has a problem. Lol..

You can girth hitch a loop runner to a carabiner.

Greg Snider I girth hitched a large 50 kn beener to an eye sling to decrease the bend radius (kind of.. I mean, same bend radius, but weight is distributed over two bends instead of one, so a little more then half the weight on each bend) and severely loaded it (put a double pulley on the carabiner and ran two pieces of rope down to a 45dbh 45ish' elm that had fallen down a river bank, then pulled the two ropes [two ropes instead of all the weight on one rope] with a loader and pulled the Elm back up the river bank) and it was VERY difficult to get that girth hitch out. Girth hitching beeners is fine but not if you're going to load them significantly. I also learned the hard way not to girth hitch slings to each other. Basket case 'em

      D. Ryan Shaw - Is "basket casing" them always a viable option?🤔 Perhaps describe that configuration in more detail(?).... thank you!

Ryan Shaw is referring to the basket hitch shown in the video, only instead of around the log, its done through another sling.
