That’s tricky. The ascender would come from an Arb, rope access or Rock climbing shop as well as the DMM xsre carabiners. The elastic shock cord from a hardware store. And the dyneema cord from a sailing shop.
I do like the Tas Lov3. But only for very specific uses IMHO. I don’t think it’s a good device for moving around the canopy of a tree (it doesn’t have the fine adjustment of a hitch, zigzag, rope runner etc) it is great for ascent though and I do think it is a safe device when used correctly in the correct application. I’d compare it more to a Petzl ID and Rig, ISC D4 and other rope access descenders but with the benefit of being able to ascend a straight rope. It doesn’t have an anti-panic function though, so that’s something to bear in mind.
@@Daniel08353 You can tie a variety of knots for this application. A splice is not an element of a knee ascender system. When someone is looking for aide in a simple video it would benefit them (and the creator) to include necessary information, and if there is an avenue for a tangent of valuable info make another video on that with a specific name. Like: "How to splice ____ cordage". You'll get more views anyway...
Ok that’s a good point. Getting to the point in a short video, plus adding a tag video or link in description of a video with more details of certain things. That’s also more videos with more views.
Really good video mate, great delivery and easily understood , thanks .
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Brilliant 👍 So good that you can fold it up and stash it away in a pouch until you need it
That’s one of the best parts! 🙌. And works so well with the Audax. Do you currently use a Reecoil Audax?
Great tutorial. 🤙
Thanks Mark! What knee ascender setup are you using at the moment?
Excellente démonstration et très pratique félicitations
Thanks you! 😊🤙
Thx for the tutorial, really helped! Keep doing a great job! :)
Thanks for the great feedback! 😊
Great tutorial.
Thanks! 😊👍
Very clean 👌
Nice rig thanx
Muy buen video en horabuena, me gustaria preguntar se puede ascender con un ALPINE UP ? en lugar de lo que tu usas ?
Please give a clear video on how the legs are locked with the rope while climbing
Where can we buy both fids that you used in this video?
Would you suggest a website that can buy all the items need for building the knee ascender kit?
That’s tricky. The ascender would come from an Arb, rope access or Rock climbing shop as well as the DMM xsre carabiners.
The elastic shock cord from a hardware store. And the dyneema cord from a sailing shop.
5mm Robline Dinghy control line has only 4mm dyneema core.
If you don't need the cover, 4mm dyneema will be good enough!
That would definitely make it even more compact! I do like the cover on the dyneema though, just to avoid the dyneema strands picking.
Im using 3mm dyneema without cover for 3 yeas now and its still fine.
Won't the cord come up a little short since you didn't do the Croll marking while it was girth hitched?
True. Probably lost about 5-10mm from the spliced large eye to girth hitching it. Good pickup 👏🤙
What is the brand of the dyneema rope ?
It’s the Robline Dyneema Dinghy Control Line. The 5mm has a 12kN rating
Auto subscribe. 🙏
😍💪
Hey dude, take a meter of rope and make figure 8 both of ends side. 👍
Can I ask you an important question?
Is the TasLove 3 a safe device?
Thank you for explaining how to make this knee ascender

this is a video on splicing...not making your own knee ascender
This is a video on making a knee ascender, which involves all the details including splicing. Doesn’t get better detailed than that.

Yeah, but I liked it :D
@@hansyoutube2678 I like it when people are intentional in their actions.
