I'm not really a fan of the gold leaf on food thing, it doesn't add anything to the flavour and is often just an excuse for places to charge a LOT more. However, that amount of food, and cooked as well as Danny says it was, for £45 is a pretty good bargain.
That's actually cheap! Don't know the quality of the meat, but at a regular restaurant your pay like £70-90 easy. They mostly sell it as a 2 person meal. When I buy my meat raw, black angus, I already pay £56 per kg. And still have to cook it. I can't imagine them earning a lot on a 1,5kg tomahawk for that money...

Unlike other expensive ingredients or garnishes-like caviar or truffle oil , edible gold adds nothing to a meal other than, quite literally, pound signs. In short, 24K Gold is completely edible, but it's not absorbed by the body and passes through without any negative or positive effects. It's just used for aesthetic qualities and because it symbolizes wealth.
Agree ⬆. The gold leaf is a show and doesn't add to anything but appearance. Nonetheless, I'd rather be forced to eat gold leaf than truffle oil. At least for a blind man, the leaf won't ruin the food where the truffle oil is often misused and misunderstood. 10:17 oh lordy lmao Danny, when you paid £50 for that seafood meal in Manchester and people were saying it's a rip-off, this is why. Compare this meal to that and there is no comparison. This one's worth more than what you paid. If they left off the gold, then maybe it would be a fiver cheaper, that would make it just £40. A 1.5 KG steak is 3.3 lbs and since half a lb feeds 1 person, in steak alone that meal feeds 6.6 people. Divide that £45 bill by 6 people and it's £7.50 each but look at what else you also got with the steak. *Easily worth it this time.* Arguably a bargain in fact. We love you Danny you're a legend.
The French term for seafood is fruits de mer. It translates literally to ''fruit of the sea'' in English. The term is used to refer to fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and more so there wasn’t a printing error just a different turn of phrase 😊Your meal looked delicious by the way!
The Grandfather Steak House located in Scunthorpe has made significant changes to its menu. Steak looks nice, but bit overkill on the gold leaf. Gold leaf is more for vodka. As you drink the vodka the gold leaf does tiny cuts on yr throat and the vodka gets in. Not on a steak.

How do they keep all that steak fresh or do they defrost it in that hour?🤔
Cryovac it vacuum seal fresh lasts for 3 months in fridge no freezing plus ages it makes more tender and flavour
Looked like he was going to do his best Salt Bae impression this costs £1450 at Nusr-Et Steakhouse
"soup?....is it homemade?"
"Its errr...brown"
I like my steak a bit rarer than that but for the price that looks great!
I live half hour from central London so prices like that are but a dream!
Imagine eating that on the streets of Liverpool ud be left with the bone within seconds 😂
The homeless Scousers would steal copper at a moment's notice...just imagine what they'd do with gold leaf! 😂
Gold leaf stuff is just ridiculous imo.
Good looking meal, big Tomahawk Steak. Sides good. Price ok I suppose, not sure of meat prices in UK, being from OZ. A bought a tomahawk like that but no gold, lol, from my butchers the other week it was AU$32, about 15 quid. Took ages to cook it. Overall for your meal 8/10.
Is this guy related to Peter Kay😂😂😂😂brilliant 👍
£45 bargain. Looks quality and a big portion .
Owner, Singh face ? Ya can have the shirt off mi back if you've ever paid 45 bar for grub. zzzzzzz
Steak looks nice, but bit overkill on the gold leaf. Gold leaf is more for vodka. As you drink the vodka the gold leaf does tiny cuts on yr throat and the vodka gets in. Not on a steak.
Cuts on my throat no thnx
@@BarryDeiter I think there micro cuts lol. Not slashes haha

Texture Sonny
Gold leaf is so thin it wouldn't cut you. It would be like eating tissue paper
No it doesn't cut your throat, its way too thin to cause damage to your body. It almost melts in your mouth....it's just for show. 🙄
should have a starter of 'Cream of Tomahawk' soup
Danny you need to try pizza milanos in wetherby they've just done a new menu 👌
