That Blossomfield Rd cycleway looks pretty useful, the dismount at the crossing is a real oversight though! noticed a theme in a couple of your other videos where they just sort of route you onto a pedestrian crossing without doing a toucan or anything. I guess most people will just keep cycling over it which isnt ideal for anyone!

Yep this is a massive problem I've noticed as well. I think it just comes down to laziness and/or funding. It's a lot easier just to just shift people onto the pavement and whack up a Cyclists dismount sign than actually redesign the junctions properly.
The Blossomfield Rd cycleway is great, and a lot better than what was there before, but it still feels like they haven't really thought about how to start it and end it properly!

@@Bikeroutesofbrum yeah the solution for joining it looked slightly bare minimum but I suppose it worked!

Would be interesting for you to try out the new cycle lanes in coventry, especially the newly built Binley cycleway which has caused a big row between residents and the council. I personally think the cycle lane creates more conflict with drivers than for the cyclist to simply just use the road.

Coventry is definitely on my list to check out and the Binley Cycle Lane is one that I wanted to see and look at.
What is it that you think causes the conflict? Is it around the junctions?

@@Bikeroutesofbrum Yes, they've designed them so cars have to give way to cyclists, including when entering roads. I've found that cars don't tend to follow the rules and just plough straight into road junctions without any care for cyclists.
