theLuigiFan0007 Dude that sub has some serious excursion. I checked out the spec's on that Orion, and the low end frequency is not all that low (36Hz). Looks like he needs a bigger sub at least an 18 inch, and maybe he can get down to 22Hz
theLuigiFan0007 I have a crown xls 2500 and at full tilt bridged it makes the lights in my house dim when it hits hard, tested it and went from 124v to 119v, tried popping the breaker keeping it full tilt and it wouldn't happen. Also this amp only weighs 11 pounds :)

Great demo video and example...I've always said that kicker box subwoofers can make excellent home theater speakers if amped right. I think a pair of mtx jackhammers would be very interesting in a set-up with some mono blocks.

I'm in awe. The frequency causes the sub to lose all dampening and it unloads and beats the fuck out of itself and everyone claps. THATS NOT A GOOD THING. Most enclosures are tuned to around 32-36 hz at the very lowest, and much higher if it's an spl enclosure. The box needs to be tuned down to 26-28 hz to play this, or a subsonic filter must be used, or you will just buttfuck the sub. I know this because I have played the same sub in two different enclosures and that's exactly how it behaves at those frequencies. It's not cool - it's just getting it's ass kicked for no good reason.
For anyone who's new to audio and recording equipment, the sub sounds shitty because it's too loud for the recording device to handle, not because it's overwhelming the sub. Good Lord, that sub is thumping.
Yeah, too loud. Most microphones short of professional grade stage mics can pick up that level of SPL below 100Hz. What you're hearing is the recording device clipping because the sound pressure level is beyond it's handling abilities.
