I never thought I'd see a home system that makes mine look comparatively small, and mine's got 4 tower speakers comprising of twelve 6" - 7.5" bass drivers, two 12" subwoofers and one 18" subwoofer. Nothing more satisfying than bass so deep you can barely hear it, but the immense sound pressure makes EVERYTHING flap around like a tornado is coming. Very nice system there buddy.
takes me back 20 years... I had the Big box with 2 12 inch subs and used it in the truck and then moved it to the house. My neighbors didn't like me anymore for the next few years until I sold the house and moved :)
Drift Drift you are so wrong. It’s actually better to have more woofers. More woofers = more air being moved = more bass. Plus instead of having 4 separate subs in 4 separate boxes he just has two boxes with 4 woofers taking up less floor space. Does it look ridiculous, depends on the person but something like this meant to go behind an acoustic transparent screen for home theater. Stop making stuff up it just makes you look stupid.

+CommanderLake I have 2 18" subs with 1000 watts to each and I made it a quest to soundproof the room. It took a layer of 5/8" sheetrock installed on sound channel strips, a layer of 6" Ruxol, another 5/8 sheet of drywall and that still wasn't enough so I doubled the wall with the same combo and that did the trick for about 99% or so. Worth every penny of material. I also made bass traps for my corners and it really helped take out the boominess without sacrificing that chest pressure when the subs hit GL on your build.
Hard work pays off. I told my wife I needed all those speakers because I was half deaf. She said the speakers were the reason and so I said I better get more then because at this rate I am going to be 3/4 deaf in a few weeks and will need them HA!
+Commanderlake - if you heard genuine 3hz bass tone for an extended period your internal organs would vibrate and kill you. So you weren't hearing a genuine 3hz, more like 10hz.
+Justin Hunting I find it amusing how people can lecture someone about something they have not experienced, I cant hear 3Hz but I can feel a small pressure in my ears. Try going into a room with no ventilation and moving the door in and out within the frame rapidly.
LudicFallacies i built 4 THTs , horns are a different ball game. these 4 18s will physically move more air, no doubt, but the horns may get substantially louder without as near as much distortion.
nope, they are not for concerts my man .. there is a differenece betwen Hi-Fi and Professionals speakers. These are nothing compared to profesionals speakers but inside or outside in a small place they are the best .

one of the best bass tests i know of besides bass i love you is "bass out", track 18 from Techmaster PEB's album it came from outer bass II. the last 1/3 of the song is where it's at.

Go big, and then go bigger, using the most expensive parts that you can possibly buy, and don't worry if it's practical, because practical be damned! I was sitting here debating the merit of having an 18" home subwoofer enclosure, but now I know it looks awesome. I've been running one 12" home subwoofer in a ported box, and I felt like it was too excessive, this makes me feel justified.

Cincinnati Harry yes, the front firing port requires a lot of r&d tuning, the trick is to cause the port to exhale while the woofer moves out much like a paddleball, but its size doesnt permit it, just the air cancels out the waves, a rear firing port would be best for one that size

Dude, I have two of these woofers, one tuned well is just sick bad ass!, but 4, dude that's epic!
Though as an acoustic engineer I did noticed the slot porting, rendering the bottom woofer almost useless, its all about the air spring :D
