    beautiful transformation of a collection of damaged wood pieces into a rare and fascinating instrument.
    Could the violinist post his review of the sound that the instrument produced? The sound quality of an intermediate level and a top level instrument is nearly the same over the internet.

    Awesome! The Violin really sings well. Restoration is an excellent craft, and I'd say this proves it is well worth the effort.

    It has a warm but focused sound with an interesting midrange. The volume seems less but not a bad thing. This violin's qualities would make it an excellent choice in several circumstances, maybe someone will decide to revive the design in new instruments. :)

    Thank you for the video here in New York City trying to find tips and tricks how to repair my broken violin because I can't afford to repair it. That's why I'm watching this videos and many others.

    Hey nice job! Did that tailpiece come with the violin when it was sent to you or did you put it on yourself? Cos I found an old German tank Hopf copy in my music centre fitted with a very similar one.

    Where do you do your repair work? The background noise sounds like a restaurant!

    It's Monday November 25th 7:42 p.m. watching the video again in Barnes and Nobles New York City. I would like to know do you varnish the inside of the violin after the repair,? or just the outside?

    • @kiwibread101
      @kiwibread101 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The inside of a violin is typically unvarnished

    Nice work. I've seen cornerless violins before, but none with that shape and never with tapered ribs.

    This is the only violin I remember in which it has been played only in first position for the four strings. Why?

    And you didn't show how you repaired the bottom of the violin but I still give this video a thumbs up

    Вопрос вот в чём: внешний вид восстановлен, а восстановлено ли первоначальное звучание? Дерево устаёт от времени и игра на инструменте в конце ролика - не показатель. Я сам не занимаюсь реставрацией музыкальных инструментов и честно сказать мало понимаю в тонкостях их устройства, но как мне кажется, сделанный недавно инструмент и сделанный хорошим мастером ничем в звучании старым инструментом не уступит.

      Какое было звучание у свежего инструмента, мы не узнаем к сожалению. Но... Со временем дерево стабилизируется, высыхает и за счёт этого звучание улучшается.
      Так же считается что во время игры, инструмент разрабатывается.

    So many "cleats" (?) ! Does not that change the resonances of parts of the violin, which make the personnality of it ?
    (I would think that modern glues, which are stronger than the wood would not need so many reinforcements and less modify that personnality…)

    • @aoiahiru670
      @aoiahiru670 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      luthiers dont use modern glues.
