It is an entirely new Thunderbolt now than what you see above. I am not sure if the new one is repainted or restored, but it is from somewhere else in the city for sure. I will re-record this on Tuesday.
Great recording! This siren can be heard at my uncle's house off Whips Mill Road, along with over 10 other sirens. If I would have known you were off from school yesterday, I would have called you, and maybe we could have went over to JTown High School. The TBolt at Waggener High School is also interesting, because it has a C series blower.
@murrfarms Haha nevermind I feel stupid, didn't read far enough down in the description. I think yours may be a notch higher on the scale than mine. Does yours have the on-screen adjustable microphone gain? That comes very much in handy for sirens, as you can dial it back to around -12dB on the camera for the recording, and when you run it through something like Audacity and re-amplify the sound to 0dB, it sounds absolutely amazing!
Hey Tyler, did you by chance get a Canon HF R10 camera? It looks to give the same quality as my R10, which looks REALLY great! Glad you were able to record for the test
@russelD9 Nope, not that I know of...I walked around it after the test. Its not shiny, but the paint is solid. If you are talking about the white on one side, its snow that fell last night.
i learned to love em!!!!!!! i had a single tone 1000 scaring me on top of a school i went too in nebraska. (this siren was replaced by a 2001... i might get this thunderbolt though.)
I hate four-minute alerts! Back in the '80s there was a 1000t or 1003(can't tell by sound) on a pole like that behind a school at the top of Highland Ave near the intersection with Prospect St in New Haven CT. Very straightforward: Saturday noons 60sec Alert then 60sec attack.
@murrfarms Wow, I dont know! I will have to check! I didnt do anything to this one, obviously. I will have to dig around in the menu and see what I find. Thanks for the tip!
Sounds like Frankfort KY And Valley Springs SD

@LouisvilleTorn8o Yeah, we will definitely have to catch that one then. Maybe march?

@Thepinkfloydmaster Yup. They were installed just 2 years prior to that day if I recall!
