Thanks for posting, sounds great! Eric's playing is fantastic, been a fan since '83 and have seen him countless times. Love how he continues to evolve and his dedication to tone!
I'd love to listen to Eric play in a smaller club setting like this. He sounds really relaxed and in the groove on every tune. Thanks for this precious upload!!
Man, it's great to see him stretch out like that around that 38 minute mark in last house on the block; in really the whole song. Haven't seen him play like that in years, or maybe ever. Really in the pocket as well, I think he thrives in small clubs like that, so relaxed. That version of that song should be included in some kind of 'greatest ever" comp, or at least bootlegged all over. EDIT: Whole concert is what I said about earlier song and this is one of those rare classic great concerts caught on tape-( EDIt EDIT: Sounds like Pagannini in cliffs of dover intro. (wondering: What made this concert stand out- Is it Paris, luck, or did he drink some Absinthe? :)
the reason his tone doesn't sound exactly like it used to is simply proximity effect, modern studio processing, playing style evolving, and altered gear. the post processing added to his studio tone surely won't be the exact same as it was in the 80s. recording is a different ballgame now than it was 30 years ago.
I'm not just going by this video bro!!! The last time I saw him was at Showcase line in MA, he did not have that tone he was known for even then. Saw him in Boston MA about 10yrs ago and he was amazing. Going to see him in August! I know his sound inside and out and he does not have the original sound anymore, not even on cd. It's still warm, but not the same. This has nothing to do with his playing, he nasty!!!

Totally agree. This dry Strat sound he uses here is okay and it gives it a different feel but the ALC performance tones are pure fire!
