even for muslims who fasted every year, the first week is quite a challenge, but then as the body adjusted to it, it feels normal. action speaks louder than words.. other than the Divine command, among the purpose of fasting are to empathize for the less fortunate, to increase the acts of kindness and to reflect on all the blessings that we all usually takes for granted. Yeah, we can imagine it must get easier as the month goes on and once your body gets into a routine! We like food too much so still feel we will struggle though 😂
The first fasting is sometimes the hardest experience. Glad you guys made it through and made this lovely video. For the Muslim, it's once a year with a month for reflection and spiritual cleansing.
Thanks Yasin! It definitely was a tough experience, but we came out of it with a new found appreciation and humility ☺️ thank you for the compliments on the meal! Not your typical Iftar meal we think, but it did the job and tested splendid 😃
@@DisappearforDays Splendid. In many other Muslim countries, bread and flatbread are staples for iftar. In general, fasting in the month of Ramadan has benefits for human health and it is also included in the amount of food and drink consumed [ the recommended amount in Islam ] during breaking the fast and sahur Information for the uninitiated : • sahur mean eating and drink before azan Subuh prayer time ( call to prayer from the mosque or surau at dawn ).
On the side, fasting also helps your stomach to rest after eating for 11 months😂. By the way it's a good training if you're planning to bring your weight down.
Well done guys! 😊😊😊... The basic fasting is for hold our thirst and hunger..next level Fasting is an exercise of devotion to willingly renounce oneself, for a definite period of time, from all bodily appetites in order to form spiritual discipline and self-control.
Im fasting and today I’ve decided to clean my house and almost fainted twice…..fasting is not easy guys…. Muslim has been training for it for most of our lives….that is why when Eid finally comes, we celebrate so hard like giving ourselves a pat on the back….. you guys can do it, but if you can’t, then don’t force yourself….
Congratulations! So proud of you! Your body will get used to it if you fast everyday in Ramadan. You'll enjoy the iftar! However, we muslims should control our appetite when breaking the fast. Don't eat too much at one go so that our stomach don't get overloaded with food. This is an excellent month to discipline ourselves, get healthier, control our emotion, be grateful and do good deeds.
It definitely was difficult to stuff out faces after Iftar. The food tasted so good after a day of being hungry 😅 it sounds like Ramadhan presents a different, but good, way to try and live life. ☺️
When we were kids most of our parents will teach how to fasting, first few days we only start fasting on half a day only. After that we will try to fasting all day. After reaching adulthood fasting is a bit more challenging because we also had to work during Ramadhan. Most people will avoid thinking about food/drinks during the day and avoid watching any foods related items during the day. We mostly just focus on the work and time will go faster. Also for Muslims Ramadhan is just not about fasting, it's also about giving to the less fortunate. Other things that Muslims is not allowed to during Ramadhan is Watching a movie/shows that contain a sex/lewd scene, not to listen to music and not to have any sexual activity during the day.
I guess it could be too tough on kids for a full day of fasting, so that makes sense they start by doing half days. I think if we had other jobs it definitely would've helped. As we were in all day, all we kept thinking about was the food, but it did make us appreciate it more when it was time to eat. Thank you for your insightful comment! ☺️
Thanks so much 💚 We have already been, check out the videos on our channel. We didn’t think we’d cope with going there in the heat without water though 😅
Definitely! It must be so difficult to fast whilst doing manual labour, or intensive jobs. We are lucky that we could sit and not exhaust ourselves too much ☺️ kudos to those who are in tough jobs or out in the sun all day!

Fasting also have many benefits to your health and body, its also train u have better focus.. So.. Just chill, i never hear people died from fasting hahaha..
Just start slowly to train your body and mind, just like Muslims children started fasting, much like learning to ride a bicycle using training wheels.. You dont need to start like us at dawn. Then gradually keep pn adding more hours. And keep urself occupied to keep ur mind of the hunger n thirst. Try not to stay too long under the hot sun. The weather is always hottest during fasting month over here somehow 🤷♀️ When we were small kids, we started fasting half a day. I remember when i was a kid, the hardest thing is the heat and thirst. Muslims not only fasting in Ramadhan, they also fast every week especially on monday n thursday for the pious one.some take of health advantage to fast.😊😊😊
Fasting is harder in the first three days usually, after that your body get used more on it and your mind learn to Ignore hunger signals until the proper time
time is relative. the trick is to DO things that you normally would do like chores or work or moving around rather than sitting in confined spaces where time moves slowly. cephalic phase of digestion is initiated during smelling of food being prepped and watching visually pleasing food presentation thats why your stomach will grumble and we muslims are advised not to do so. cardio activities will exacerbate the thirst so conserve that. and talking will make your mouth dry so avoid that. It also helps when your stomach is waving the white flag, you show the middle finger to it (sort of) and say Hungry?Good. (reverse psychology) ever had one of those days where you just have so many things to do and when at first you look at the time it's 8am and then you look again and it's 4pm? yeah do those things.
I guess we did it wrong and didn't keep busy enough, but by the sounds of your comment, it also sounds like sleeping all day is a good idea 😉 my kind of fasting 😂

time is relative. the trick is to DO things that you normally would do like chores or work or moving around rather than sitting in confined spaces where time moves slowly. cephalic phase of digestion is initiated during smelling of food being prepped and watching visually pleasing food presentation thats why your stomach will grumble and we muslims are advised not to do so. cardio activities will exacerbate the thirst so conserve that. and talking will make your mouth dry so avoid that. It also helps when your stomach is waving the white flag, you show the middle finger to it (sort of) and say Hungry?Good. (reverse psychology)
ever had one of those days where you just have so many things to do and when at first you look at the time it's 8am and then you look again and it's 4pm? yeah do those things.
I guess we did it wrong and didn't keep busy enough, but by the sounds of your comment, it also sounds like sleeping all day is a good idea 😉 my kind of fasting 😂
@@DisappearforDays but hey you guys did it! i enjoyed watching your documented experience :)))) have a nice day!
Thank you so much, we're so glad you enjoyed watching it and hopefully we did it justice! It was such a unique but fun experience!
Welldone
Thank you ☺️
Fasting in the month of Ramadhan, it's a good way to lose a few pounds. For me at least. Kudos to you both for being a good sport 👍
Haha, it's a good reason to start cutting weight back a bit after all the good food being eaten for the rest of the year!
Thank you for your comment, we really wanted to immerse ourselves in the culture here, give it a go, and see, and we're so glad we did! (Not at the time though, it was a struggle! 😂)
@@DisappearforDays I've subbed. I appreciate your efforts in getting to know/immersing in the local culture. I did the same when I first arrived in Old Blighty back in the 80's. In Malaysia now, but I have fond memories of the UK 😍
Thank you so much 🥰 I think it's only right to try and immerse yourself when living in another country and in general. It helps you to understand their ways of living and builds unity ☺️ We do miss the UK at times, but are so happy here as well 🥰
I just realize Jacob looks like Nigel Thornberry from "The Wild Thornberry" cartoon lose the beard keep the mustache and dye the hair and mustache orange pretty much look like the cartoon character 😁
I agrie XD 🤣🤣😂😂🗿
I can see the resemblance 😂
What have you started?! 😭😂
Enjoy your vlog 😊
Thank you 😊 Glad you enjoyed it 💚
Thank you! Maybe we'll have to try and see if we can make 2 days next time! 😬
Kudos u 2
Thank you so much 💚 It was a lot more difficult than we thought it would be 😅
After fasting for the whole day u will be more appreciate once the food and water enter ur body when break fast
We definitely were more appreciative and it has made us think differently about food and water since 💚
I hope you guys could celebrate Eid fitri and experience the Open House during syawal and try the Malaysian hospitality
We are hoping so too as well, it would be such a lovely experience I'm sure! 😊
9:14 good experience..
It was definitely a bit eye opening! ☺️
👍👍👍
Thank you for watching! 😁❤️
Fasting is good for your health too. 👍😎
It must be really good for dieting! 👍
❤🎉
💚
It's just that you can't eat & drink for just a few hours, it turns out you're still alive right??.. that's how it feels to the brothers of the same religion (muslim) in Palestine who don't eat and drink for days.. this is the feeling of concern for our fellow human beings who are in trouble & hunger...what you feel is what they feel...
It definitely helps build empathy for people in those situations! It must be so much more difficult for them though! 😓
Respect
Thank you so much 💚
😁👍
Than you for watching! ❤️🥰
first time is hard because your body not used to it,it get easier after few days
That’s good to know 😅 We didn’t know if we were just being particularly weak 😂
You're gonna get used to it after fasting for a week or two. Try next year.
Yes, we assumed it would get easier the more you do it. Maybe we’ll have to try again 😅
Drinking caffeinated drink before start the day (fasting) is really a bad moves 😅. Your body will flush the caffeine and could resulted dehydration / thirsty
Oh no, I should have seen this advice before we started 😅
@@DisappearforDays no worries mate, you can always try next time. For suhoor, it is best to eat hard boiled eggs, overnight soaked dates, and some fruits. No carbs especially oats. No oats, no coffee, no instant noodles
Oh dear, we did this completely wrong then 😂 we thought the oats would give slow burning energy 😅
@@DisappearforDays if i eat oats for my suhoor, the only burning sensation i got is in my stomach 😹😹. So when are we going to see you guys fasting again? Come on, the first one is the kind of hit or miss try. For sure the next time will be much better (just imagine the sweet reward during the sunset break fasting hehe)
Oh dear! We love oats, especially before we go to exercise! We haven't got another fasting video coming out unfortunately, but keep your eyes peeled for Tuesday as we have another video coming out around the Raya season ☺️
I wonder if both you had shower during fasting ? You can actually take a shower to freshen your body or gargle your mouth during fasting....
Jacob had a shower after his haircut but then fell asleep straight afterwards 😂 That’s a good tip though!
Try not to sleep during fasting. Its make you hungry after wake up from sleep.
Oh no, we probably should have heard this before we did it 😅
Good.😂😂
💚
First
That was quick! 💨
Fasting trick Ramadhan... drink salt water...
Doesn't this make you more thirsty? 😅
Nope, drink Celtic salt will make u water in the body will not lose...like went u sick, doctor give sodium chloride drip at u hand...
Oh interesting, we didn't know that was a thing! Thank you for the tip! ☺️
Sains and islam🧐
I don't know if google translated that properly, so we don't fully understand, but thank you for watching ☺️❤️
@@DisappearforDays 👍u w c
U only 1 day fasting, how do u think Plastine people right now? Free Plastine, insyaallah ❤🎉😊
Ofcourse we realise it is nothing in comparison to what people in war stricken zones are going through. It did help us to empathize though, it must be so difficult for them 😓
Even Jesus fast like the Muslims.
Yes, so did the Jewish people in the desert I believe ☺️
The boy lok like he is weke all the time, not just wen he is fastering😆🤣😂🗿
Nigel Thornberry arms
You can imagine the hunger and thirst the Palestinians are suffering the past many years due to the Israeli illegal occupation.
Yes, it must be difficult for all innocent people who are in poverty due to war. It's such a sad situation 😞
Well you guys dont exactly has the body fat storeage...
We'll take that as a compliment! Maybe we should've bulked more before we started 😅😂
Nobody die from fasting
Thank goodness 😅
Fasting its not as u thought, U need calmness ,believeness and sacrifices
It was definitely more tough than we thought, calmness does not go hand in hand with hunger if it's Emma, she gets hangry 😂
7.04minute...ur face r shining...fasting effect...
😅 I felt so hot and sweaty all day! 💚
