Welcome to the Newson Gale Earth-Rite® DGS product overview video - our Dual Grounding System with interlocks and visual indication for transloading operations or two processes which require grounding to 10 ohms or less.
Where operations may require grounding and bonding of, for example a railcar to road tanker transfer, which must be continuously monitored throughout the transfer duration, two grounding systems would be required.
This is where the Earth-Rite DGS stands out from other grounding systems. The DGS enables the grounding and control of two processes with a single system, using its dual grounding and monitoring channels. Both channels can monitor independent 10 ohms or less loops from the vessels to a common verified ground bar via an intrinsically safe ‘ia’ circuit. This solution provides a secure transloading process when transferring materials from one container to another during metering or processing.
Combining two monitoring circuits into one system significantly simplifies not just the installation, but also the interface to the process. A master volt-free relay contact can be utilised to provide duplex operation control which is permissive when both channels are grounded. The DGS also provides volt-free relay contacts for each channel, therefore making it an ideal solution for two processes in the same location that need to be grounded.
