Let's pray that the desire of our Lord Jesus Christ 'that all may be one', may one day happen. That all Christians whether Catholics, Orthodox Or protestants may be united under one flock and one shepherd. The Pope is the successor of St. Peter, the Apostle, the shepherd that Christ has given the authority I believe is rhe right shepherd for all Christians. Amen 🙏🙏🙏
@@cklyngdoh4628 From the beginning, every place had its own bishop. The idea of a "universal shepherd" is relatively late, and doesn't appear in the Church for at least several hundred years.
You are so blessed to have been raised in the true church, I looked for it most of my life, finally finding the Orthodox Church when in my 50’s. Praise be to God that I found it!
When you came to the recognition of your sin and who Christ was when you were older (as a baby, we didn't know) and believed in Him, did you get baptised as the Bible instructs?
Stop separating christians to denominations. If you dont sin and believe in God and keep his commandments you will be saved, not if you are in the Orthodoxal or protestant church
This is all well and good as a talking point, but it has nothing to do with Scripture or actual Christian history. We very clearly see clergy (deacons, presbyters, etc), sacraments (Holy Communion, Baptism, Chrismation), organized prayer and worship, organized philanthropy, etc.
stefan larsson I was raised Protestant (Baptist) and my parents/ most of my family is still Protestant (several different denomination). So many Protestants are very misguided and Zionists. It’s truly an embarrassment as the Lord has awoken/begun to starting awaking me. I’m living and working in China for now and can not find any Orthodox churches here. I want and pray to be in the Original Church. However, I have many friends here from Serbia, Bulgaria, etc. that are Orthodox and I will DEFINITELY be visiting an Orthodox Church as soon as I’m home, which should be within this next year. Until then, I am doing as much research online, praying and reading of the scriptures. God bless you all.
That gives me a renewed strength and gladness and happiness. I've been straying for some time sadly. Thanks Nicholas. Let us all unite with love in the name of the LORD.
Юрий Юшкевич | Galatians 3: 28-29 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Now if you are of Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, heirs according to the promise.
From an Ex-Muslim who's considering to convert to Christianity. I'm definitely opting for the orthodox faith because I feel it is the oldest and truest doctrine. Thank you for this very informative channel BTW
If you were Sunni then you can look into shia but if not then it is the will of Allah that you will become Christian. As long as you believe in God inshallah 🙏❤️
I was brought up non-religious, but am now Orthodox. Why? It's the truth. It has also saved me in more ways than one. I was in a very dark place, but Christ showed me the light.
I will be baptized and chrismated with my two youngest children on Saturday (December 9th). I discovered Orthodoxy last year while searching for the first century church. I will be an Orthodox Christian because I want Christ. I want to be a part of the body of Christ. I want to live to glorify God and become like Him. When I don't feel His presence in this world, I just can't imagine an entire eternity separated from Him. He saved me from a life of addiction and death. I felt so lost in my old faith (Pentecostal Holiness). I was running out of hope and felt like I had hit a dead end. That's when He led me to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I have hope again. I will have the tools necessary to live my faith. I just love Orthodoxy! I love the fullness and not having to guess about what is true and what is not. I love having a spiritual father to guide me. I love the wisdom of the church fathers and mothers. I used to wonder if any holy people still existed and I learned about the monasteries and the monastics. My heart is full. Please say a prayer for myself and my children as well as my husband (who is not taking this beautiful journey with me). I have found the Pearl of Great Price. This is all why I am becoming an Orthodox Christian.
Glory to God! May our loving Lord guide you and your entire family, each and every day. We'll add you to our daily prayer list too, Melissa! God bless you!
Melissa, Fast and pray for your marriage to become evenly yoked. I was unevenly yoked with my husband who was a yogi and it almost destroyed my marriage. 😔 Christ saved my husband and brought us safely into the arms of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church. He healed our marriage and now we've been married into the church and my husband just had his Chrismation before our wedding. Do not give up, Christ will heal this in your marriage. He is faithful... and welcome home sister! The Orthodox church in so loving and beautiful. I wish you many years!
HisChildMelissa75 The first century Christian Church was JEWISH, originated in Jerusalem not Greece, and met in peoples houses and sometime synagogues. The OC developed many centuries later, and the way you see it today about 1000 A.D.
What do you mean by the Orthodox Church "as you see it?" If you mean architecturally, while the Church was persecuted and "underground" for the first few centuries, you begin to get recognizable Church architecture by the 3rd century. As far as practices (services, fasting practices, etc) go, those certainly evolved over time. On a deeper theological level (beliefs, interpretation of Scripture, sacramental life, etc), that Church is what it has been since the beginning.
I was baptized Catholic, and went through Catholic grade school. Come high school, my faith quickly eroded away. The more I studied about Catholicism the angrier I got as I could only see political motivation behind so many events. Then I began looking into early church history, and saw so much more purity. After months of research in my free time, I decided to attend an Orthodox liturgy- and what I experienced was nothing short of sublime. The congregation was almost all Greek or Baltic, but everyone welcomed me with a smile. They didn't care about out-doing each other in what good deeds they've done or gossip: they talked about their children, about gospel verses, and future plans for holiday festivals. The priest, Fr. Martin, is among the kindest and most patient men I've met in my life. He approached me after the ceremony and we just talked for hours. I discovered he was a scholar of ancient history, and we talked about the Early Church. It was here that he helped show me all the parallels between the early church and today's Orthodox church. He showed me how the Orthodox church kept the traditions, language, and ceremony of the ancient fathers. The Orthodox church has gone through unspeakable amounts of oppression and tyranny- yet they still stand today, keeping the same traditions they have for centuries. In my eyes, that shows a pure faith and dedication. And that is why I'm in the process of trying to better myself so that I may join the church.
Lucious Hi. I heard myself in your writings. I went to the RC as a teenager and then in my 20s to go through RCIA and baptism. I later tried some Protestant churches and am currently in a Lutheran church which has a relationship with Anglicans, Methodists and Episcopalians. I want to learn church history and learn better ways to pray, chant and meditate. I've always been a seeker. I've had health challenges and want to be at peace with my faith, with Christ and God. I'm looking for another way. I was born into a Hindu family and find ancient and Eastern practices comforting. Thanks for writing this.
Your still missing the point. Being a Christian, true believer and follower of christ isnt about how nice the people were or how sublime you felt... its more than that and i hope that you reach out and find out why orthodoxy just like Catholicism is wrong, why it falls short. Its no magic mystery, you have a bible. READ it. if you dont, download it. Its all there in black and white. There are no special rules or santities or special instructions only a preist can deliver. Only Christ can give salvation.
Who do you think wrote the Bible? Compiled the Bible? And what did Christians do for centuries before (1) the canon was settled and (2) people had easy access to the entire canon of Scripture?
@@ketzergaw2593 I'm not sure what you're asking. The Bible was written way before the divisions into Catholicism, Protestantism, etc. Back then it was just "the Church."
@@dawidkarolinski7917 one of the first, perhaps, though I'm not sure about the timeline. It was certainly in Jerusalem before that, and Samaria, and nearby cities like Antioch.

Hey Michael I was in Jordan and as I was traveling to Kerak I was hosted by the most nice family, they were first Christians that I met in Jordan and they knew nothing about me but that I am traveling and still they wide open door for me :)
That's right Kyril you could not go back when your moving forward in the True Church. The fullness of Christ and his mysteries in the Eastern Orthodox Church are almost indistinguishably Indiscribible
Orthodoxy literally means true religion. In Greek ortho means true, real and doxa means faith, religion. It's ορθοδοξία. So, every time someone says Orthodoxy, it's like they say "The truth" or sth like that...
The only form of Christianity that was "real, straight up" was during the time of the apostles, when they were alive : after that the wolves took over : "I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves," Acts 20:29.
Steven Christoforou, good question because Christianity was only identifiable in its pure form during the time of the apostles when the bible was being written, so it is all there in the bible, even though in later times as Jesus foretold the weeds took over creating a fusion religion combined with Greek philosophy, Plato, and other religious traditions. Only in the last days Matthew 13: 24-30 also Matthew 13: 36-43, under Christ’s angelic direction would the truth glow brightly again. Jesus also said that during this time the good news of his kingdom would be preached through out the whole earth : “And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come,” Matthew 24: 13,14. Who today are doing this despite intense hatred, bans, and opposition from the world?
When exactly did this happen? How did the minds and hearts and practices of tens of thousands of people instantly change when the last Apostle died? Are you a Christian? How is it that somehow you have access to the true faith centuries after it disappeared?
I'm Orthodox because after my parents divorce the foundation of my life was gone. And despite the mental illness I faced in the aftermath, the Church became that new basis of my life. I may have a broken family, half of whom have left the church, but I still have God.
Erthradar Above all else, pursue your faith. Continue to be a seeker! I've had and have health challenges and depression. Don't isolate yourself too much and try to find a healthy life, work and spiritual balance..And a good and supportive community.
I'm an Orthodox Christian because of the blessing of the Eucharist. Living my whole life as a Pentecostal, not being aware that I had been missing such a blessing was enough for me to convert. Thank you guys for all of your hard work at y2am. As I have said before, you guys were instrumental in my conversion. God bless you all richly. Pray for me!
Jasiel Rodriguez welcome Jasiel to the true church. The blessing of the holy Eucharist is essential as it's literally the body and blood of Christ not symbolic as Pentecostals believe. God bless.
Thank you! May our loving Lord continue to bless and guide you, to grant you wisdom and discernment and to always be aware of His presence and love. We'll add your name to our daily prayer list. Please pray for us, too. Thank you for your constant encouragement.
I am an Syrian Orthodox and will be an orthodox Christian all my life because I am proud of the rich heritage which orthodox church has to offer to its believers. I believe that the doctrines, the prayers, the holy Eucharist which orthodox church has will never be found in any other churches. God bless you all
I'm an Orthodox Tewahedo Christian because I believe in Our Saviour, Lord and God Jesus Christ and also because Orthodox Christianity is the most beautiful church to ever exist and it is unchanged under any circumstances and oppositions. We continue to worship God and follow his rules the original way without any modifications or alterations.
So true! Orthodox Christianity is the original Christian church, well preserved for over 2000 years! That's why you feel the presence of God in it like nowhere else!
I was born a Greek Orthodox Feel away from that life and was atheist for awhile Went to being Protestant Then converted back to my original ways I couldn’t be happier! I love my life now and pray everyday🙏
Im happy for u. My sister raised as an orthodox find in christ but she stucked into protestantism (sola scriptura) i hope she will find into orthodoxy again since she deny it
I've found myself in a similar place - baptized Greek Orthodox- attended Catholic school for 9 years - became agnostic for most of my life. Past couple years had been somewhat more curious about God and in the past month or so, have been reading the Bible, watching videos, talking to people about God and praying and it has been staggering. I still have such a long way to go, it feels like, but I couldn't be happier about this path.
I am an Orthodox Christian because I was born Orthodox Christian from Greece. But people who are not Orthodox Christian and become after faith or something else they will receive more bless from God αμην
I am an Orthodox Christian because of a plethora of miracles. When I first went to an Orthodox church an icon on the iconastas was smiling at me, it was Saint Nicholas and it was his feast day. I am an Orthodox Christian because of the peace it gives me through mental illness. I am an Orthodox Christian because I believe in the risen Son of God and his angels and saints.
Indeed! I have suffered mental ilness too this year, and nothing i mean NOTHING could cure me like going to my church every sunday. CBT, benzodiapens, hypnotists, EFT, you name it! Nothing can cure my mind, soul and body like witnessing kingdom of God on earth in this present moment!
Offsrx, Ditto. Couldn't agree more. Had health and mental issues all my life amd am looking for a better way. I hope you find peace and can find and take effective and low dose of nonaddictive drugs. Blessings.
Catherine D | Amen Catherine. I'm glad you found peace in Christ whiles living in this vain and fallen world. Good luck with everything and know that whatever mental or emotional health problem it is, it can and has been cured through constant prayer and fasting.
Salutations from Romania and God bless! I`m happy that there are Orthodox channels that speak out and try to teach why our belief is what it is and not what others interpret it to be. Why am I an Orthodox Christian? Because I've felt on my own person how an Orthodox life changes you, from the very core and how it really lives up to what our theological writings teach. Everything is true, down to the very last word!
I understand everything that you said about why you are an Orthodox Christian and I greatly appreciate that, but as a Protestant who grew up Baptist, I don't see where anything that you've said in this video is different from what I believe. In fact most Christians hold those same 3 beliefs-Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, Non-denominationals, etc. I guess I was looking to hear you say why you are ORTHODOX vs. Catholic or Protestant.
@@mikeharris468 That's a fair point. Since there are so many different traditions out there (Catholics, Reformation Protestants, Post-Reformation Christians, etc) contrasting against each of them would be super hard in a short video. So I tried to keep it as succinct and positive as I could: First, God is real (if He wasn't, obviously I wouldn't be a Christian). Second, Christ is risen (that's why I'm a Christian rather than something else). Third, one Christian is no Christian (the Church is Christ's Body and, as I say in the video, the Orthodox Church is the same Church that the Apostles preached). You're basically asking me to elaborate on reason 3. Which is fair. But I'm not sure I can solve the "which Church is true" question in a 6 minute video. If you want more detail, then we need to dig into more detail (theology, ecclesiology, soteriology, etc.), and the conversation will depend on which tradition you're coming from. That's why we make so many videos. We actually have a full playlist laying out the basics of the Orthodox Church here: th-cam.com/play/PLbyQMR-_r8bKi4G0BuSgjHqwaU0tp3uku.html
I became Orthodox over ten years ago after decades within Evangelical Protestantism. The main reason was I discovered the Orthodox understanding of salvation and judgment/hell was coherent and consistent with Scripture and with the deep convictions God had worked into my heart through Scripture and my own Christian experience over several decades. The predominant view of the Atonement in Evangelicalism (Penal Substitution) introduced certain concepts that were at odds with Scripture and each other and painted a picture of "God" I eventually realized was very unlike Jesus Christ as He is portrayed in the Gospels and which I therefore also found impossible to love and trust. I am Orthodox because in Orthodox Liturgy and in the lives and teachings of her Saints I see Jesus clearly. In the continuity of Orthodox history and dogma with that of the early Church and all other Eastern Orthodox churches worldwide, there is great unity and stability, and there are longstanding tried and true methods of prayer and approach to spiritual disciplines enabling me to be more aware of Christ's Presence in my daily life.
Just like biblical and historical evidence proves that jesus and his apostles were vegatarians biblical and historical evidence also proves that the trinity, atonement, original sin and hell are very late misinterpretations and are not supported by the early creed hence its not a part of Christianity I pray that Allah swt revives Christianity both inside and out preserves and protects it and makes its massage be witnessed by all people but at the right moment, place and time The secred text of the Bible says ye shall know them by their fruits So too that I say to my christian brothers and sisters be fruitful and multiply Best regards from a Muslim ( line of ismail )
Hi Steven! I'm currently a catechumen at a Greek Orthodox parish in Scotland - I was previously Episcopalian. As a theology student, the more I read the Fathers, the more I realised that the Church established by Christ and the Apostles is the Orthodox Church. Providence seems to have played a significant role in my journey. I have two friends who became Orthodox before me, from other Protestant denominations. And through a series of unlikely events, I came to share a house with an Orthodox doctoral student of theology. But this ministry has also had a great impact! You've presented an Orthodox perspective on so many topics in an engaging way, and invariably I found myself agreeing with what you (or your guest contributors) were saying. This realisation - that I had practically no disagreements with Orthodoxy - also played an immeasurable part in my decision to convert. If you read this, I know you get lots of comments and probably have an ever-expanding list of people to pray for, so I won't ask that you go out of your way to pray for me specifically, but perhaps you'll think of me on Sunday during the Prayer for the Catechumens in the Liturgy!
Glory to God! Thank you for taking the time to write and share your story. May God continue to bless and guide you, and open your path to His Kingdom. We'll add you to our daily prayer list. Please remember us as well!
I am a devout orthodox Christian and will always be! Jesus is our saviour! The Orthodox Church is the church unchanged, unmodernised! My father is an Orthodox priest! I live with Jesus in my heart and soul! Jesus came into the world to save us from sin and show us that we can conquer death! His words and deeds were without question proof that God is within us and loves us and wants us to be true to his word!
The Orthodox hasn't changed? Are you sure about that? Along time ago we were one and the eastern church acknowledge the role of the Pope but now you don't. Sure sounds like a change to me.
I am orthodox christian because i believe that Christ was risen and when i go to church i feel like i have been there for ages,as Jesus want me to be part of his kingdom,as if i had a past life adoring Him and the Saints. I just can't explain that. Is just magical and unexplained 💖 bless all

@@liviucristianionescu I guess you have no clue about the origins of calculus then... Thank you so much for sharing this Steve, it's very spitrually uplifting to hear. I am an Orthodox Christian because I've seen that even in moments of complete hopelessness God is faithful when we are not. In my victories I see the strength of God and in defeat its His grace that makes up for my weakness. I know without a doubt my life could not have had the turn around it did without a loving God, so it's a choice I make everyday to pursue Him and keep getting up however many times I may fall short of His glory. I pray the Holy Trinity would continue to guide you and everyone working at Y2AM in your beautiful ministry, it's truly a blessing to me and so many others and I'm excited for all upcoming projects. God bless!
Something similar happened to me. When I was 9 years old my best friend in the world died. It was the darkest hour of my life, so much loneliness, despair, and heartbreak. I had cried out to God, prayed for God to spare him, let him stay here, over and over again non-stop for hours until I must have literally passed out and yet, when I woke up the next morning, my friend was gone. I felt so betrayed that I turned my back on God. For five years I lived as though there was no God. I couldn't shake my belief in God's existence, it was just that firm, no matter how hard I tried to be an atheist, I just couldn't and yet I still didn't believe that God cared about me, loved me or any of the people I loved or cared what I said to Him in prayer. This was incredibly self-destructive and even though I pretended that I was fine, I wasn't, not at all. I was emotionally and spiritually crumbling. So, at last, I reached out. "If you care, show me. If you care, prove it." same as you I got the message, clear as day. "It's alright, he's alright, he's safe, with me. Come home."
My father was the first to discover Orthodoxy as a young man. After years of study and his journey from a Protestant to a Roman Catholic he was christmated on what he thought at the time was his death bed. As my husband and I watched as the “Catholics” moved closer and closer to Protestantism and away from it’s roots we began to learn more about the Orthodox Church knowing that Christ promised that even the “gates of hell would not prevail against His church.” Where we were having a great struggle within the Roman Church, we found the Orthodox, who have preached the gospel of Christ without change, and had been doing so since the formation of the Christian Church. Now, 25 years later, there is no doubt in my mind that we are home.
I don't get to share this story often but one time when I was 16 or 17 a friend and I were having a heart to heart conversation about our lives and things we had been up to. Like breaking the law and messing with drugs. Then I was saying "man what are we doing? We are really not living right. We should be going to church. What's one hour out of your life?." At that very second almost cut me off. A loud almost southern voice came from my stereo system which was turned off. That said "Jesus Christ one hour out of yooooooour life." We looked at each other looked back at the radio. I hit the power button and it came on to the hip hop station it was always on. I looked back at him we both were teary-eyed, goose bumps and freaking out. He said I have to call my mom right now to tell her everything I've been doing and to come get me. I don't know what to make of it.....Devine intervention? That is the only thing I can think. I haven't talked to this friend since this day. I recently found him on Facebook and would love to talk to him about it but almost want someone to document our story for us before I even reach out. Like a lie detector test or something. This really happened and we both heard it. It was plain as day. I just don't understand the southern accent in the voice. Deceased relative speaking through the radio waves? Idk. Just thought I'd share.
I first attended an Orthodox service at 18. I continued to attend, until I fell in love with the beauty. I later fell away for reasons mostly of pride. I was an occultist, a neopagan, a Unitarian Universalist, a wannabe Buddhist, an atheist, and later tried Episcopalian when I began to return to faith in Christ. I searched far and wide to find a replacement for Orthodoxy. No other church or religion came close to the beauty of the ancient Orthodox Catholic Church. I repented (and am repenting) of my wanderings, and returned home. I am an Orthodox Christian because Orthodoxy is true and it is beautiful, and in a world so full of ugliness, we need beauty. Christ is beauty. Beauty, as it has been said, will save the world. May I remain faithful to him and his Church till my final breath in this world.
Iparticularly liked the present continuous you used on repentance. It s the correct Orthodox term in the correct tense. It is very deep in meaning.Thank you.
Grew up catholic, never super religous in my personal life, then in my middle school years to early adulthood was pretty agnostic/atheist. But now after really diving deep into orthodoxy and symbolism, my worldview has totally shifted and now I was to convert.
I'm not a Orthodox Christan, but I do recognize Orthodoxy as being the One True Church. I'm a religious Sephardic Jew, so even though I don't believe In Jesus or Christianity, I do believe all Christans should be Orthodox.
I love and respect you, Sephardic Jew, because I know your people s history and my heart bleeds for whatyou have undergone throughout history.May True History justify us both! Let the papal modified history be revealed for what it really is! AMEN.

Fr.Dr. Timothy Chrapko"s Daughter and now I have aged up into pretty much a teen and one day I was think about how Be the Bee was doing and I found this and as soon as I watched this video with my dad I knew I had to drop a comment and like some people I was born into an orthodox life style and I have had my douts about faith .But I found whenever I had these times of disbelive I always knew that I would find my way back to the church because well I was practicly rasied there and I feel If I did not have it in my life well I would not be me. Thanks Y2AM.
Because the Orthodox Church is the true church, the original church unchanged or modernised! Being Orthodox brings one close to Jesus and united in spirit with God! Wonderful video! I am a 21 year old Orthodox Christian from Australia and I never thought I would ever be able to witness visual beauty so stunning that it would actually take my breath away for a few seconds.... until the day I first entered an Orthodox church. The pure beauty impacted my soul within that very first moment.
I'm so grateful for the work of the people who make Y2AM what it is. You have broken down concepts in simple, approachable ways that makes it easier to understand the potentially overwhelming faith of Orthodoxy. The channel makes Orthodoxy look inviting and it encouraged me to go to a parish for the first time last month. I will begin my parish's baptism classes tomorrow and will be baptized God-willing around Christmas time. Thank you.
Im an Orthodox from Serbia. My family is also religiois and ofc Orthodox, and i have been my whole life, but in the latest of time, i feel somewhat scared, mostly of people judging me for being religious, and i don't like it. I know i shouldn be ashamed of my beliefes, and im not, im just insecure because i dont know how to explain my faith. Im in constant fear of someone arguing with me, and i see myself on the loosing side (religion related). I know that answer lies in my better studying and practising, but i also think that i surrounded myself with platforms that shame people for being faithful. Coming across this chanel is, for those reasons, very relieving for me. It is so nice to know that you are not alone. Its wonderful. It gices me strenght and courage to be myself and believe openly in what i believe. God bless you all, im so thankful for this chanel and people
xristos anesty, Christ has risen. I've been to many, many churches and I've never ever heard criticisms from orthodox worshipers to other Christian denominations; their answer is "there are many roads to salvation through the absolute belief in our lord Jesus Christ as was interpreted via the gospels of the traditional bible". To attend an eastern orthodox church is to hear liturgical hymns which is so beautiful, so fulfilling to the soul.
@@claireclaire238 I'm sorry to hear that! The Christian life is certainly tough. There are moments in our lives when we don't "feel" what we're doing. And that goes for a variety of different things: friendships, relationships, etc. That includes our relationship with God! We can share those other struggles with people.
I had arms around me once. So I said if those were really your arms Lord please do it again when I need it. Lo and behold it did happen again I know God is there or I would have died multiple times over. I had an illness once that gave me about 4 hours to live if they couldn't stop all of the internal and external bleeding I was bleeding out. I was in the hospital when it was a crucifix at the foot of my bed on the wall and my mother was sitting next to me crying. I looked over at her and I said with tears in my eyes Mom don't worry it's not time for me to go yet. I am only 32 years old and I haven't been able to do yet what God wants for me. I got better and my mother stopped crying.

@@CristianoRonaldo-rv1vj I think that Coptic church is not recognized by Greek orthodox church as orthodox church. They are not in Ecumenical unity. Copts are monophysitists. At least according to Eastern Orthodox Churches (Russian, Greek, Serbian...)
The answer is easy and it is short: We are the one and only original and true Church the traces our roots back to the Apostles and we have not veered off course/changed. Nothing else needs to be said. It covers everything.
There are no Orthodox Christian churches in Dominican Republic,.only Catholic and I don't agree with their views. How can I get baptism? Can I do it myself?
When we are in search of the Only Truth, which is God Himself, we pray to Him to show us the Way. We read the Ancient Fathers of the Orthodox Church and pray to God to illumine us and send someone to us or do whatever He thinks necessary with our life. This way we leave our lives in His hands and sooner or later there will be an answer from Him. We can reach God only through humility (obedience - God rejects pride). Prayer, at all times is necessary as this is one of His commandments and this is the only way we can build a relationship with Him so that He might call us His friends. He is so good, that He will answer your wish for sure as He has always done with me. (I was born a Christian Orthodox and I praise God for it every minute of my life). Orthodoxy doesn't come easy, it comes with sacrifice and struggle. Which means we struggle with ourselves to get rid of our own Will, our own self which rots our spirit and try to do God's Will - this can be done by giving up all the fights we have with our neighbour, or anyone who has ever wronged us, pray for their salvation and change the way we think, behave. An Orthodox accepts sufferance as a consequence of our sins. (I'll go to the doctors, treat the sufferance, still, I would never complain- I would thank God for it as it is a sign of His Mercy, it shows He is still looking after me. God doesn't give us the pain and sufferance, He just allows it since He knows that only in pain man remembers to call His name. When we are in comfort, we never look for a relation with Him). Forgive and don't judge anyone! Let Christ be the judge of all humans! Become a new person! While doing all of these changes in our life, we should keep looking in our souls, pay attention to our acts, attitudes and reflect upon how we should act from now on. As a Christian Orthodox, I follow Christ's example. I always see myself as the worst sinner of all! This is how an Orthodox is striving to reach God! God bless you all! Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner! This is a prayer one can repeat at all times to call God into one's soul. Doamne Iisuse Hristoase, Fiul lui Dumnezeu, miluiește-mă pe mine păcătoasa! - Romanian Ana-Mihaela - from Romania
Try to contact some Serb. There is a parish of Serbian Orthodox Church in Venezuela I think, and it's priest comes quite often to DR... so You could experience Divine liturgy of orthodox Church...
Internet Orthodoxy is no replacement for real life Orthodoxy, but in your case, I would reach out online, whether in Facebook Orthodox groups or elsewhere, and plead your case. Maybe you will find a canonical Orthodox priest that you trust and can receive some guidance from. Try to find and purchase icons of Christ and the Mother of God, if you haven't already, and pray to them. Buy an Orthodox prayer book if you can, also, and use the prayers in there. God will help you if you seek him. +++

Amen 🙏🙏🙏

He is faithful... and welcome home sister! The Orthodox church in so loving and beautiful. I wish you many years!

The first century Christian Church was JEWISH, originated in Jerusalem not Greece, and met in peoples houses and sometime synagogues.
I am an Orthodox Christian from Romania. It sadens me to see the loss of faith happening these days...

Lucious Welcome home.
I converted over 34 years ago to Orthodoxy like you and I agree, I could not be more connected to God anywhere else. You said everything so perfectly.

@Fighter For Christ You seriously misunderstand the Church if you don't think we follow the Bible. Or that we teach the commandments of man.
Orthodoxy literally means true religion.
In Greek ortho means true, real and doxa means faith, religion.
It's ορθοδοξία.

what about christianity? why is a word added? Orthodox christian......why cant it just be christian?
I became Orthodox by fate, because I married an Orthodox man. Now I remain Orthodox by faith and conviction
I'm an Orthodox Christian because Orthodoxy is the only form of Christianity that is 100% real. Straight up.
Are you a Christian? Does Christianity exist, or did the Church merely exist for a few decades?
Steven Christoforou, good question because Christianity was only identifiable in its pure form during the time of the apostles when the bible was being written, so it is all there in the bible, even though in later times as Jesus foretold the weeds took over creating a fusion religion combined with Greek philosophy, Plato, and other religious traditions.
Only in the last days Matthew 13: 24-30 also Matthew 13: 36-43,
under Christ’s angelic direction would the truth glow brightly
again.
EXACTLY!!!!! REAL FAITH!!!!
Lord have mercy!
May God grant you courage and comfort, now and always!
It's sad how vulnerable people fall victim to cults like Christianity. These cults prey on and exploit the weak.

So I tried to keep it as succinct and positive as I could:
First, God is real (if He wasn't, obviously I wouldn't be a Christian).
We actually have a full playlist laying out the basics of the Orthodox Church here:

I'm an orthodox christian because i have done the research as to why Christ exist and why orthodoxy is the True Church.

"Christian's aren't born, we are made"
That statement went straight to my soul.
Just like biblical and historical evidence proves that jesus and his apostles were vegatarians biblical and historical evidence also proves that the trinity, atonement, original sin and hell are very late misinterpretations and are not supported by the early creed hence its not a part of Christianity I pray that Allah swt revives Christianity both inside and out preserves and protects it and makes its massage be witnessed by all people but at the right moment, place and time
The secred text of the Bible says ye shall know them by their fruits
So too that I say to my christian brothers and sisters be fruitful and multiply
Best regards from a Muslim ( line of ismail )

I am an Orthodox Christian From ETHIOPIA
I am an Orthodox Christian because I have put the trust of my salvation in the Lord. I know he will never leave me. Because my husband and I have 4 beautiful children who are gifts from God. And because of the beautiful and ancient hymnology of the church. I’m sure this is what heaven sounds like.
So much for biological processes
God bless!
Thank you for this beautiful testimony! It's a wonderful source of inspiration as I read it this morning!

Glory to God! I'm glad you're here.
May God Bless Your Father's Soul, Amen☦️❤️✝️
God bless you and help you to not simply remain faithful, but to grow in faith daily!

Thanks Y2AM.
I think alot of people would want to know why Orthodoxy specifically
Agreed. This was a good case for Christianity more generally, but please elaborate on the Orthodox distinctives.
This is a great question. We'll work on a followup video.
Because the Orthodox Church is the true church, the original church unchanged or modernised! Being Orthodox brings one close to Jesus and united in spirit with God! Orthodox christians do not worship idols or statues! We have icons that show the saints! We respect the institution of the family and its traditions!
Agreed it would be nice to see a Orthodoxy as aposed to say catholisim or Protestantism.
The reason I'm Orthodox is because I experience the warmth of God when I go to an Orthodox Church

That's Right leo jacop! Respect from LA.
xristos anesty, Christ has risen.
I’ve been struggling with trying to rediscover my faith. Thank you for this

I try to go to church but I feel nothing , I'm really struggling with it especially as my other half has just been baptised and goes every week.
@@claireclaire238 I'm sorry to hear that! The Christian life is certainly tough. There are moments in our lives when we don't "feel" what we're doing.
