A very big thank you viperfrank just stripped an old 1210 painted it and somehow managed to put it all back together again using these video's as my guide. To my surprise it works even with my fists of ham i pulled it off. When i first found out everything has to come off in the first vid my heart plummeted to my boots but after watching all four vids they gave me the confidence to have a go and i'm so glad i did.I did get into trouble once with the power assembly so went over to that vid by viperfrank and sorted that out to.Thanks again James brilliant clear concise vids easy to follow keep up the good work.
10 years since upload, but I've used your videos to strip my decks, paint (took me weeks to get right), do a led conversion and put back together again . Thanks so much for your help 👍

Fantastic set of vids - many, amny thanks, sir! I just needed to change my hinge set but was a bit daunted by the sheer number of screws that were going to have to come out - but your guide is not only superbly clear, it's given me a whole lot more confidence to tackle other jobs on these awesome TTs!
Great detail !!!!! Video is spot on !!!!! All went well till my mate popped round with a joint !!!!!!!! Must of seen the video more times than most people ,,,,, lots of rewind

@pinoydrunknboxer hi there sorry for the late reply. if you mean the gimble (the bit at the back of the tone arm) than I would be very careful and I definitely wouldn't take that apart. there are LOADS of TINY bearings in there and they fall out every wear. even if you did manage to put it all back together they need calibrating witch requires special tools, the easy way is to do it with a brush but very carefully. sorry this isn't what you wanted to hear. thanks for your comment nice one!!!
thanks for the comment and the positive feed back. there is a way to do that its fairly easy so as soon as i can get round to it ill do a video on it, ill sent you the link once i have down it. thanks again for the comment. nice one !!!
hi there, thanks for your comment and positive feed back, as for your question some people have asked me the same question so i will do a video for you and those people and show you how to do that. thanks again for your comment. nice one!!
Hi James greetings from Montreal and thx for the help on stripping the Thecnics TT. Now i'm in the process of stripping mine to bits in order to do a custom paint job but i have thought of every step before i do so and one thing i encountered is the lettering on the TT's how does one paint the unit but stil keep the letters ? Are there stickers one could buy or any other technique? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
first off thanks for this. im painting my tables right now. but i was wondering what the best way would be to paint the tonearms. i'd probably have to take them apart right?
Nice one. My friend Carlos (aka Charles III) may be teaching me to spin. I like your mixes and I'd like to find an older turntable like yours. Where would you start to look?
Viperfrank you are the man love your videos verrrrrry helpful.Quick question any advice on the easiest way to repair damage to pcb trace done during desoldering to replace transistor ?
hi viperfrank, i replaced my old 1200 top with a 1210 top i did find the newer top had less screw holes for the inner base plate and only one screw hole for the power circuit board. the new top had a sticker stating it had been changed from the original, so if anyone getting a new / newer (prob 2005 onwards) top dont be worried if you have a couple screws left over
hey i just pulled my 1200 apart repainted put it back together. turn it on and platter is spinning like crazy the start/stop 33/45 buttons do nothing but the lights are on except the target light. please tell me i haven't broken my baby. cheers
Hello, thanks for the helpful video. However, you forgot to install a cable tie to hold the mains cable to the power PCB. You cut it away during dissambly.
Hi there. I have question I have replace whole Turnarm but I put back together. The thing is plate came out along with the center of plate where record hole goes I don't know how anyway When I finish I was trying to play a record to see how works the plate won't spin seems like The piece of the center upright all the way up I'm afraid to push down and break. Can you tell me what to do or anyone here in this forum. I will appreciate forever. Thanks to all for read about my problem. All the best
