Ford Madox would be a good name for a pickup truck. "The Ford Madox. Don't just settle for horsepower, get ox power. Now available with zero downpayment at your local Ford-Lincoln dealership."
I love Bill Nighy as a narrator. But this one was a chore to finish, no mystery nothing concrete besides an endless supply of trite quotations. There was such a weak storyline it felt like an endless circle. ☹️
It does, albeit a slowly developing one. Like all books of this era, much of the early portion of the book is dedicated to characterization and character dynamics. Worth a read if you can spare the energy.
Wonderful, I could listen to Bill Nighy read the telephone directory 😁
Excellent! Love listening to Bill Nighy's voice. He has such a lovely voice! Cheers!
This is amazing!!! ❤
I could listen to Bill Nighy’s voice all day.
This is why you need narrators who understand and care about the book not just a face people recognise!
Thanks to Bill… sooo lovely lol😉❤️. Thanks for sharing…🎉
I just found this book in a bus shelter Bill night does have a lovely clear voice
There are very good BBC dramas with Bill Neighy "Charles Paris mystery"(youTube) - excellent radio plays.

Wow. Something definitely different
Surprised the word scotch is used instead of Scots
Great
Didn't know Bill volunteered to Libravox
The Librivox audio is read by Peter Dann. This is a Penguin aodio.
Is this just the first of the three books?
Parade's End is all four books. This reading is chapter one of the first book "Some Do Not...".

Listened to 30 minites, and I don't have much of an idea of what is the story. Is there any?
I think I'm just listening to Bill Nighy speak. What story? 😊

I think perhaps you are giving your age away, way back when education included reverence for literature?
