I think this may be the only animatic I've seen so far where we have Calypso possibly having any kind of "oh shit" reaction to Odysseus calling upon his patron goddess. Like, her eyes widening there feels like she realized a split second too late before he was on his knees in a supplication to Athena. And calling upon any god, truly DRAWING THEIR ATTENTION TO YOURSELF, is such a risky, dangerous thing in mythology that usually doesn't end well for anyone.
The way you showed he was being imprisoned and assaulted in the name of "love" for 7 years is so impressive! The song is so upbeat so I never saw Calypso to be this harmful but now when I see it tbis way, it makes it all so much more sad and painful.
Artstyle is peak, ALSO PENELOPE'S EAR REFLECTING HOW SHE'S A DAUGHTER OF A NYMPH IS AMAZING YES. And Athena holding Ody throughout the memories is bittersweet considering she couldn't really hold him but tried to anyways.
I like how Calypso’s portrayed! Like I def sympathize with her story & get why she’s the way she is but it doesn’t change the fact that she’s a dangerous goddess who abused her power over Odysseyus in horrible ways.
You accurately portrayed of the true horrors she put him through and the art of this was beautifully done! Been seeing people excuse the things she did saying she doesn't know how to "socially act" and its not her fault she loves him or simply cuz she's hot...love does not make you SA someone and if you actually loved someone you'd never do the shit she did to him. END. OF STORY. It's a shame male SA and Abuse is never acknowledged enough

Ah this is incredible! And so much detail, like Penelope's ears (because of her parentage)! Or even Calypso's detailed braids!!! Thank you for also not shying away from the fact that Odysseus was HER prisonner and was forced to obey her! Ody was the victim! Yeah its sad Calypso could not leave her island but that does NOT make her entitled to do what she did to Ody!!
And now I'm waiting for you to do an animatic of I Can't Help But Wonder, where athena gives Ody the rings back, and he gives Penelope hers in Would You Fall in Love With Me Again

Wow, you blew me away. The way Athena checked on Odysseus felt so mystical. I like how it was some kind of simulation which Athena could physically interact with. Calypso being charming, but absolutely dominating Odysseus was perfect. Other animatics usually play up her charm while sacrificing a bit of her godly power. The best part was Ody's eyes got darker as the years go by(2:41). You can tell his mental pain was piling up.
Oh my gosh, so many details!!! I had to slow it down to try and find them all!!! I love how you have Athena sitting like an Owl with him at first! And holy shit, everything with the wedding rings??? It makes it even sadder with your "Not sorry for loving you" animatic. And him BEGGING on his knees before her. sldkjf BOAR SCAR SPOTTED!!! I love how you have Odysseus seem genuinely afraid of Calypso, his flashbacks of what she's done while he's turning away on the cliff edge. Excellent job!!!
