Looks like they’re taking aim at Hoka One One and their “marshmallow” sole. However, the Hoka Speedgoats were what helped me do the 50 mile Star Course in France. Need to try these.
My biggest gripe with most athletic shoes is that the soles wear out after a few months. I’m very particular as you are. I have a closet full of brands: Hoka Bondi & Transport, New Balance 1080, ON CloudMonster, etc. From what I have read about these GORUCK Rough Runners, I understand that they are durable and comfortable, so I’ll likely give them a try. Questions: Based on your experience of initial comfort, do you have flat feet, a high arch or narrow/wide feet? Do you use your own inserts? Thanks for the review.
I didn't like it initially. But, it has grown on me. There is also a "white" version that dropped. I'm a sucker for white shoes. They look pretty nice.
Tried murph with them right out of the box this morning. They are noticeably more springy than the ballistic trainers. At first I didn't like the "heel lock" because I was worried it would rub but I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong. Works as advertised. Still like the look of the all black ballistic trainers more but I'll continue trying these on longer runs.

I've always been interested in the Hoka shoes.

No special feet here. Just “normal” I guess. No inserts.
Thanks for the review...I think I'll stick with Altra's though... they've worked well for years
Go with what ya know.
been on hokas for awhile, wish they lasted longer, hope these are as stable
They claim these are built to last. Time will tell.
How is fit. I wear 10.5 in Hoka
I’ve never worn Hokas, so I can’t say exactly. They do run true to other GORUCK shoes. I’m a 10 in all their shoes. I’m also a 10 in my Brooks.
I hate the huge white midsole. If it were all black I'd like it a ton better.

@@Rucking Cadre Dan had them at an event over Memorial weekend and they did look at little better being worn in.
