    4K is only 8.3mp. So cropping in on a 12mp sensor doesn’t drop it too far from 4K. Glad to see someone use the ZV-E1 in a professional environment. So many people are complaining about overheating and would probably never use the camera for long format content 🤦🏽

    Well its sony's magic there are a few things to ponder about. For up and down it has more MP pixels since the sensor is not 16:9 so d-act can do up and down without loss. Also we have to wonder what is happing between the sensor and the clear zoom because lets not forget its the a7S3/FX3 sensor so i internally its 48MP not 12MP.. maybe just maybe they for some things they are sending different pixels ?? The 12MP is mostly to make sure the readspeed stays high it doesn't tell us what lines are send.

    The dynamic stabilization only crops in 1.3x. Minor difference but makes it wider still than crop mode but also works with most smaller APSC lenses. So win-win.
    Great video. As a point to note, it does appear the dynamic and active modes work way better with Sony native lenses than with their party lenses. My Tamron lenses don’t look nearly as stable over my native lenses.

  • @geodude4real
    @geodude4real ปีที่แล้ว

    i'm curious: 10:11 - you have an APSC lens. that would be projecting only a 1.5x cropped image onto the middle of your sensor. So you're not using any more of the sensor than that right. So, lets just grab the full image - you'd end up with an image with black bars around it. (there'd be a circle but lets stick with the bars for example sake). Now you enable dynamic active stab. That crops in 1.3x from the main image. That still leaves you with 0.2x of black lines around your image, as you weren't actually using the full sensor. Now, dynamic active stab, doesn't just use the central part of the sensor, it applies a 1.3x crop and moves that around dynamically where appropriate. However, since you haven't used anything outside of your APSC 1.5x crop, the real estate that you're assuming it would use is actually all black. So unless you used a speed ring or something, I don't understand how you managed to get the APSC lense to work with Dynamic Active Stab.. At best, I would assume the camera just used a 1.5x crop and active stabd it. At one point, you do see the result of this in a vignette when you pan your camera as you turn around. Thoughts?

    • @nVuFilms
      @nVuFilms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not all APSC lenses are completely 100% limited to 1.5x crop. A lot of them has slightly bigger openings than APSC. Which allows me to use them with 1.3x crop with a slight vignette. If I use the APSC lens on Full frame... I would see a big vignette.
      You have to remember lenses are circular and sensors are square/rectangular so the lenses opening covers much bigger surface area than the sensor

    Thank you for the video and samples! From what I've seen, the dynamic stab works well for vlogs, but panning seems to cause a little jitter at times. Also with the 11mm 1.8 (which I also wanted to use this with), there is that occasional vignette from the ibis when panning too fast in one direction. If only clear image zoom worked with dynamic stab for an extra x1.1, but seems like it's greyed out. Hello man, thanks for this typ type of videos. I will like to answer you. If you notice some difference between FX3 and this camera talking about the sensor. I’m thinking about purchasing some of these cameras and 2K is a huge amount of money and I love the sensor, quality and the render of the FX3 and I’m wondering if the ZV cools do the same render quality with the same lenses because I think that I don’t need all this physical bottoms thank you for your help

    They can definitely crop into this sensor because its actually a 48 megapixel sensor with quartets of pixels being binned down to 12 megapixels for easy pixel readout, hence making it an effective 12.1 megapixel sensor. They might actually be using the 48 megapixels from dynamic stabe. Now that they have a dedicated AI chip, it wont be a burden on the camera processor anymore.

    • @nVuFilms
      @nVuFilms  ปีที่แล้ว

      🤷‍♂️

    • @Wildridefilms
      @Wildridefilms ปีที่แล้ว +1

      🤦‍♂️ Every 12MP sensor has 48 million subpixels. If you say that this camera has a 48MP sensor, then the A74 is 132MP and the A7R5 240MP.

    • @gracesmith5021
      @gracesmith5021 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Wildridefilms No, they dont. Quad Pixel BSI sensor is a different technology. 48MP Sony IMX510 is the sensor used in ZVE1, you can read more about this sensor. A7R5 has a normal BSI sensor, not a Quad Bayer BSI sensor. I am not talking about sub pixels, I am talking about actual pixels, four pixels with the same colour filter, not subpixel rendering. Some other camera.

    • @Wildridefilms
      @Wildridefilms ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@gracesmith5021 four pixels with the same colour filter doesn't give any more detail than 1 pixel. This is the same marketing gimmick smartphones do to claim a 108MP or a 200MP sensor. The microcontrast is resolved per pixel after debayering. If you have a bayer colour filter of a 12MP sensor on a 48MP sensor, you're not going to resolve much more detail than a true 12MP sensor.
      If they did, recent smartphones like the S23U should beat A7R5s and GFX100s in detail and resolving power.
      However, there is a genuine advantage to such sensors. HDR processing. Different pixels under the same sensor can capture images at different exposures simultaneously. This of course requires a lot of light, but increases dynamic range significantly. That is why you see phone sensors do so well in not overexposing the sky, but a lot of cameras struggle to. Canons full frame cameras like the R5, R6 have lesser dynamic range than an iPhone 14.
