I loved every minute of this game prior to figuring out how to dump the puck into the goal from about two feet shy of the blue line. I forget what the highest score was, but I know for sure it was more than 6 goals per minute.
I remember playing this against a friend back in the day. I took a slap shot against an empty net. It missed hit the top post bounced off that and then hit friends player in the face. Then it Bounced off his players face and into the empty net. That shit was so funny. I was dying of laughter. I told him “Thanks for the assist.” He got pissed and turned the game off out of anger because I was beating his ass the whole game. That goal was the straw that broke the camels back for him. 😂
Not into hockey but when I moved to my grandma's in 95 there was a snes console there with just this game there from my cousin maby. I played the shit out of it and got pretty good from what I remember lol
I figured out within 2 hours of playing this game that if you dumped the puck in from the blue line at the right moment you’d score every time. The puck would go over the goalie’s head and land in the net. I’d anger many a friend with this trick. lol
Lol. I remember this game my brother used to play it all the time 20 minute periods. Every game we would both get over 100 shots on net and the score was all ways. 1-1 or 1 -0. Unless you used the glitch goal which i new how to do for about year before my brother new. Fun times.
It's almost as if this took place in an alternate universe where milan lucic took up goal tending and ryan miller played wing. Bodies all over the ice.
I was never a sports fan, but as an avid fan of the original (hard to find on emulation) NHL Hockey '90 on Sega Genesis, I loved this game. It was the first to give a realistic look to the game and how it could look professionally.
Has anyone had an issue with portions of the graphics not showing properly? Example (Logos not displaying, text in the game option buttons not displaying and ice is black).
I have this game. Of course it's easier to play thanwhen you are 6 but it's still not an easy game to play. You get checked half way across the ice and if you anywhere near a goalie, they check the hell out of you.
The only good thing about this game was the music. It was damn near impossible to score goals unless you used the glitch/exploit. No NHLPA license and no fighting don't help this game either.
This game was ahead of it's time
I agree i remember we had a 32 inch tv at that time that was incredible!! This game looked amazing on it !

Lol I figured out the same thing as a kid. Crazy how many people figured this out even with no TH-cam guides etc
We had to make a rule: No X shots lololol
@@JQkeys Yes. As did we
Yup figured if out as a kid as well 😄🤣 but then again I seemed to have figured out a LOT of tricks as a kid in a bunch of games 😀
Ah, my people.
This game got me through the brutal winter of 93'/94'
Buffalo new york?
Me as well in North Dakota
Este juego fue de mis favoritos de snes, jugaba horas sin parar cuando era pequeño, que buen recuerdo
I just love this game. I might be the only one, but it was so much fun.
You aren't the only one who liked it i did too
Was apart of my childhood
@@leonking9153 Glad to hear it man!
honestly as goofy as this game looks now, for 1993 this was insane. most sports games that weren't Madden, NBA Jam, or Tecmo Bowl were effing terrible
I remember getting it for Christmas as a kid loved it.
Oh my god, I remember this game. I play this game with my brother everyday
I miss the old time !!
This game is solid fun. Yes the blue line glitch but that just made that zone crucial to defend.
wow the memories. i think i scored like 2 goals...ever. but i played like everyday after school lol.
Im wondering how my eyes and brain took all this back then
This was the first snes video game that I played.
Great game except of the sweet spot in between the center circle and the blue line.
*for

Loved that game...it was like actually playing hockey...to me...possibly the best hockey SIMULATION ever!
I used to stay up till 3am trying to play every game of the season, those was da days.

Still own this game just played it makes my head hurt

Every game was a barnburner (thats how learned this word)
Before learning how to dump puck, it drilled the word lackluster into my head with regards to the quality of my performance.
I always had fun using the goalie to hit the other players

My buddy and I would play this and mutually pull our goalies to make it more exciting than just going for the goal glitch.

Classic SNES reverb
These graphics were mind blowing for the time, but gameplay was horrible.
Mode 7 kicks ass
Yes...yes, it does.
The sound design is strange, but I love it.
Once you figured out the goalies weak side you could rack up 10+ goals easily
I think I'll buy this
By the end of the match, what eaten could be thrown up by the fast pace camera.
this game was so trash, i used to fling the puck in the air from center and it would just sail over the goalies head
As far as I remember it worked best when I did it in between the middle and the offensive line. Good times hahaha
Yep you'd win by 60-1 every time.
I owned this game, and that was one of the only 2 sure ways to score. (The other being poke checking the goalie when he has the puck lol)
Classic lol
Dump just before blue line

The "Mode 7" graphics were mind-blowing at the time, but the gameplay sucked, and the center ice camera rotation got really annoying really quick.
The camera swinging around constantly would drive me insane. Was there another camera angle to choose from?
No but you got used to it.
Felt less like real hockey & more like virtual table top hockey.
I have this game. Of course it's easier to play thanwhen you are 6 but it's still not an easy game to play. You get checked half way across the ice and if you anywhere near a goalie, they check the hell out of you.
Featuring special NHL referee: Guy Lafleur! LOL
Nearly impossible to score if not for the glitch

I never get motion sickness, but watching this made me nauseous.
I remember i paid $29.99 for this game back in 1993 at Playco. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
I counted 56 offsides that weren't called.
Game was really hard to play with offsides on, to be fair xD that swinging camera angle would get you a lot of the time xD
I hated this game with a passion
I had this game.
Man, I have no idea where this trash came from.
this game was a disgrace to hockey
This game's a piece of poo. Too bad as it looked so great.
This game sucked
