I find this story a bit confusing, because so many different people come on the scene seemingly randomly. I'm starting to get it a little at chapter 5. It's almost like listening to many stories at once.
I agree. Overall the different storylines are well written, but too many random switches makes it hard to remember who is who. There is a lack of connection between the different groups of characters that make this feel almost like a group of short stories that don’t finish rather than one story.
I, too, am struggling a bit to keep characters straight. For me, I think this is one negative of listening to an audiobook. If I were reading it myself, I don't think I would get quite so mixed up! But I think I'm liking it so far, & plan to finish. Maybe I'll see if the others in the series are at my local library. I don't have time to read often and love books, but I can do other chores, etc, while listening... ~Liz
