Except it's not positives charges that are moving but negative one, electron. Oh and yes, and so all movements are in the opposite direction. Ha and originally there is no power supply, it's only with the triboelectric effect that the electron are moved. Else it's correct 😛

Apparently I have came across 2 different versions of this machine that are causing confusion
1. Uses high voltage source to transfer charges to belt and then to dome
(this video, class 12 books, various websites on internet)
2. Uses triboelectric effect (charges transfer from PVC roller to Rubber belt due to friction) which results in high voltage on dome
(Some youtubers made this one like Electroboom, saw one in my university lab)

Yes, with 1 why even have a belt? I guess it is needed to keep building up charge? What would happen if you put the + comb near the comb inside the sphere or just connected the + directly to the inside of the sphere? No mention here of whether you need different roller materials in 1.
