Interesting to know is if this tripod has dust seals in the legs like the Rollei Compact Traveller no 1 Carbon. Anyone here knows if the Manfrotto has that too?
Nice video: But there is a difference between “advanced” and “GT” series, the last is meant for pro photographers. So they are a difference in the used materials (both series provide aluminium and carbon fibre ones). Which also lead to a high difference between the two about the ability of load weight. The advanced series should be more than suitable for hobby and holiday photographer, the gt is mor for pro travel photographers with heavier gear. Btw because of the built in spikes it’s even unlikely to get them on board. Just for fun: there is a third series placed between this two.
Thanks for watching! Seems like you really know your tripods! I don't think you would have any trouble in regard to travel as the ground spikes are not very sharp. However, you would have to check with the airline before. Keep an eye out for my future product reviews that you might find interesting!
After 2 years of waiting you might as well found out yourself. The GT has the 496 head and can carry till 10 kg. The other is equiped with the 494 head, suitable for 8 kg cameras.
Thanks for watching! If you need to use a tripod for both still and video I would suggest getting two different tripod heads. A fluid video head and a ball and socket head. The video heads tend to be more expensive however they create amazing pans and stability. The ball and socket heads are great for stills and you can get any angle you want while keeping the camera stable. Hope this helps!
Difficult to nail the rating for price since you don't state clearly what it's based on. At one point you say it has one of the best values, which I think is THE most important measure of price rating, and then you go on to dump it down to 5 out of 10. I don't think your assessment really has value unless you somehow do a value comparison. They're not going to give it away, and of course it is priced higher than many other carbon fibre tripods, possibly because of its value? But we'll never know from this review whether it being out of reach for many photographers is justified by what you're getting for the money.
The tripod dont have a bubble lever? zou dont need it to make a fine setting this tripod?
