I watched your videos and then completed my form using the information you gave out. I then had an assessment and thought I had flunked it because the assessor said "yes, but what if etc etc" and I just kept saying it was irrelevant. If I had to answer i told them my husband supported me. Today I got awarded pip with no further information required. So glad of your help. Thank you Charlie.
I'm only 10 minutes into this but I just wanted to say thank you. I was feeling guilty about wanting to claim PIP because I work full time, I can get around relatively well on good days, and I can take care of my self for the most part. But that part about needing to order takeaways if you can't stand cooking, or getting a taxi if you don't feel up to getting public transport really opened my eyes. I have Vestibular Migraines which is a neurological condition and it can make things really difficult on bad days. Even on good days I'm almost always fatigued and off balance. But I am stubborn. I'm refusing to let this beat me. So thank you for this video and helping me feel like I'm not a fraud 💝
@@angelastylianou1 you need to call the PiP claim line to start your claim. Then you'll be able to either fill the form out online or they'll send you a paper form to fill out.
Omg I’m crying just from the first few minutes. I had no idea how much I struggle day to day. The comment about take aways just made me crumble. So many realisations that I’ve been minimising my ‘disability’ as I’ve always had to be the strong independent one. I literally struggle everyday and I guess I thought it was normal. Thank you thank you thank you. The veil has been lifted🙏🏼💜
Not all hero’s wear capes ! Charlie I want to say a huge Thank You !! I followed your guidelines closely when I filled my form out It’s the first time I have applied and I have been awarded enhanced for both daily and mobility which is such a huge relief and will improve my quality of life massively Thank you
My friends have been nagging me for years to claim this but I have been too proud . I’ve decided to make a claim . I’ve worked all my life and have never claimed benefits except in between jobs which has been rare . Thank you for this Charlie. 🙏
Thank you so much for helping us, and being honest and candid, while suffering so much yourself. You are an earth angel. My heart goes out to you, and fellow sufferers. As we know, these forms have to be done, but are so cruel, can be very stressful, and humiliating. I have many of the symptoms you mention. Fatigue, brain fog etc. I have no energy and have to sleep several times a day. Keep falling down, have just broken my ribs once again. Bang my head on the concrete and bled. I haven't the energy to get up myself. II have no one, and little support, making me feel, depressed lonely, and frustrated and depressed. Disconnected from the world. I feel my feet are stuck in the mud, and I can't move forward. I awake from a dream, and the nightmare begins. I know many others suffer, and are perhaps even worse than me. I feel for them. I was in hospital. and came out even worse, and traumatized. I so appreciate your help. I hope sometime, you'll feel better. Take care.
Hello, thank you so much for sharing that......you are NOT alone. You are now with your Battle Buddies. Please tell me you get PIP? Its so hard to fight to just get out of bed, let alone completing the PIP process Stay strong Charlie
@@CharliesJourney Hi Charlie. So Good to hear from you. I appreciate how difficult, it may have been to even reply. Yes, I haven't had the energy, to fill the form out, Yes I'm on PIP. The stress is excruciating, however, absorbing your, selfless help, I am more confident. Yes, money is important, but it doesn't make me happy, or, make my health any better.. Who'd have thought, the horrific persecution of the old, mentally ill, and disabled, that, history would happen again. From the bottom of my heart, I send you, and our fellows my love and best wishes. You are one great woman. We lack positive role models today, as you must well know. Take care.
Hi Charlie, just come across ur channel, I've got a video call tomorrow for pip and I'm so so scared 😨 I've worked all my life until work and gps have abused, harrassed, victimized, threatened and ignored me😨😨and forced me to take something I didn't want to take😢 and now I suffer with pains, fear, isolation and server anxiety. I feel so alone and lost. I haven't claimed anything since I have been off sick and I wasn't paid from my job, now they've terminated my employment. These evil 😈need to be brought to justice for what they've done 😢
Thank you for this video. I'm about to try again for pip. I have multiple sclerosis and anxiety and depression. I applied last year and got turned down, I did a mandatory review as they left some things out and got turned down again and they said in there letter.. Because I can drive and I work 12 hours a week that I am able bodied and don't suffer with mental health issues. This was it for me and with the added pressure at work, I felt suicidal and couldn't take it to a tribunal. Now, after 21 years in the same job, I was made medically retired because I couldn't do any more and my employer tried to support me but eventually got to a dead end. I had a relapse last November which has left me worse off and February I had a mental breakdown and felt suicidal again, I was going through my medical retirement which was a lengthy process on it's own. Multiple trips to the doctors. Anyway, I'm now ok and ready to grab the bull by the horns. I'm just waiting for my form to arrive.
thank you for this , its been so helpful. for ages i put off applying and then my father was really ill and then passed away last year. I was doing so much for him, that i put off all my stuff to one side! I am now filling in this form with more confidence, after watching your vlog. the way you explain it and make it clear, is very helpful. i was not willing to admit how i was struggling with a lot of this stuff mentally for years, wish i had applied a long time ago. I will now , thank you again.
Wow Charlie so impressed with you say “fxxk off” to those who claim and aren’t ill. 12 years I’ve struggled and I’ve been desperate but terrified of applying. I have done my application. It’s made my chronic health condition so much worst. I worked two days a week. Rest Monday work Tuesday test/recover Wednesday work Thursday rest recover Friday. During completing form my back fibro/discs went. 10 weeks later I’m Still off work and can no longer sit or stand for long few mins because of chronic pain. Most of my day is spent in bed now. I pray I get some mobility back. Dreading the pip call. Wish I’d heard of you before. ❤
Hi Joanne, Thanks so much for the feedback, I have been trying to tone down my er....assertiveness as I used to be a Transport Specialist so the terminology was very different LOL. But I had to leave that bit in! As you are still working, they will ask you things like: - How long can you sit at a desk for? - How long can you stand for? Some of the assessments of people working seem brutal, but have confidence as I was employed full time when I won PIP for myself. I was running a very large contract. But even though I was working, it did not change the fact that I was struggling with daily tasks. I hope you have pain meds. Back pain is the worst! I would recommend you have the scoring system and make notes on it for your assessment. It will help keep you on track and it will (hopefully) keep your confidence if they try and fob off an answer. So you stick to your guns. If you can, let me know how it goes. And if you have any questions, please let me know Take care Charlie
The comments you said about people saying " I wish I could stay in bed all day " My Siblings ( Brothers, sisters and other Family members have said that to me. It destroys you when you hear that !!!!! ) I just wish I was still in business and teaching !!!! " Excellent Podcast Charlie , my friend whose also disabled like me I've forwarded your'e TH-cam Page onto her as if you don't mind me saying it's outstanding I do hope you get recognition from the Disability Council of the UK etc Regards Mark
Thank you over the last 20 years I’ve had 2 new knees, and most recently I had a stroke. I was on the standard pip and I’ve just informed them of the stroke I was in tears when I got the form. Now I have hope. Thank you
Thank you for these videos. I use to work in PIP and UC and then social housing and you're right, it's the wasters who ruin it for the legitimate people. Seen it daily with people who just sit on the dole day in day out for decades and their parents were the same. Anyway, I am currently applying for bipolar type 1 psychosis and your videos have been a heaven send.
I watched this video and it helped me to fill in the form in PIP language. I got PIP!!! It took 20 weeks and I got back payment. Thank you. I had applied 2 years ago and got knocked back. I have fibro so is really hard to get taken seriously. Wow thank you.
Thank you so much Charlie for making and sharing this information. I am completing the PIP form on behalf of my partner and this has been so helpful to me so that I can flush out some of the answers to some of the questions. Personally, I have learnt a lot about her daily struggles by listening to you as I know that she is too proud to ask me to help her any more than I already do. She applied for this about a year ago and was turned down, but her condition (osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia) is getting worse, so she has decided to give it another go. She does work as it gives her a sense of purpose and she loves her job, but she is completely worn out and usually spends most of the next day in bed trying to recover. Please don't feel the need to reply to this. I just wanted to thank you. I have subscribed to your channel and I sincerely hope that you are getting rewarded for all of your valiant work. Kind regards Paul.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. My anxiety has stopped me from claiming, (fear of any individuals not believing me), but a friend has been through the process and promised to help me. You have helped me immensely xx
I has been more than two weeks since I was told but the Citizen Advice Bureau to apply for PIP and I have been unable to due to extreme stress , overwhelm and anxiety .. you gave gave me so much reassurance so I will call tomorrow and ask for the form .. God bless you
Hello, I am so happy the guide helped. If we all just accept the process and work with it, honestly its not that bad. The challenge is being self aware and being able to talk openly about it. I am working on a new guide on the points, so this will be done in time for your application. I think you will find it really helpful. Take care of yourself and good luck with your claim Charlie
P.S If you watch the Tribunal guides as well, it just gives you a different view of the sections PIP will focus on. I am hoping with the different cases I work on, people will find more similarities with their own situations so its easier to go through the process xx
I tried applying about 2 years ago now & got so bogged down by it I just gave up, so stupid really. I've got everything at hand to call & apply again Monday morning. Started googling for some basic advice. I'm so happy I found you. I have psoriatic & osteo arthritis & depression & just the parts of video I've watched so far have made me feel so much better..(& worse too in way...there are things you've mentioned that I've realised when I think about it, are a problem). So thank you, I'll be watching all your videos, & take as much advice as I can!
You're giving the best information to help people.... i have been on PIP for 6 years and when i first claimed i just knew i was entitled to it, so i kept my answers simple but clearly stated where i had difficulties and i was awarded PIP.. After 2 reviews i am now on a 10 year award so no more reviews for a long time.
Wow, that's amazing! You must have done a great job and unfortunately have a very challenging daily living routine! Thanks so much for commenting Charlie
Oh dont fall for the light touch crap, yes you may not have an assessment for ten years, but be aware regardless of the ten year light touch review, they can still call you in for a full assessment when ever they choose, and this does happen trust me.
A brilliant video. Thank you so much for doing this. I might give applying a go but I'm hesitant because I fall through a lot of cracks as my condition is not recognised by the NHS, but I do have an adjacent diagnosis that it is associated with. I'm also that stubborn type. Yes I had a social in the pub last night, but my hangover is not the beer. I'm exhausted because of the environment... I work part time, but I shouldn't, the 18 hours a week are destroying me. All these things I force myself to do... I just worry that my determination would be noted as "capable" and my days in my chair doing nothing as a result will be ignored.
Hello, I totally understand what you mean about the aftermath when you do things. Have you gone through the points and seen where you score? If you score high enough, go for it! Take care of yourself Charlie
@@CharliesJourney Very nice of you to reply :) It's difficult to find the points because the problem is in the brain, so my physical mechanics all work fine. I actually keep fit to help my condition... all on a yoga mat in a dark room because my brain is unable to process light. I've spent thousands getting glasses to help in the day light, which help but are far from perfect. And now LED lights have replaced the soft orange street lamps I'm close to being a prisoner at night. A choice between health or never doing anything outside my home. I shall have to spend time thinking about how to approach it. It's the travel aspect I'd come under I think.
Wow, I mean this in the nicest possible way.....your fascinating. You are so strong and practical, its amazing to here about your situation. You are right that you do not get the points and you are the first person where I truly believe PIP is missing a section, as your condition really is controlling your quality of life. If you don't mind, can you update me now and then? If I meet anyone else in your situation can I please refer them to you? As, I have no experience at all with your challenges. I really want to create a positive community here, with accurate information and a support network. You are amazing! Please take care of yourself Charlie
@@CharliesJourney I'm going to talk through with citizens advice and see if it's worth proceeding. It certainly is a pickle I'm in. Any questions are welcome and feel free to send people here, I'm always looking for people like me, which I suppose is natural when you have something so rare. People in my situation normally benefit from the "Irlen method" of getting tinted glasses with specific colours that block out certain wave lengths of light. A lot of people with brain injuries benefit from this too... but it is not available on the NHS and it can be a trial and error situation over several months. It's helped me have some sort of life, I couldn't do anything without them. But the tint slowly fades so I have to keep reordering pricey lenses indefinitely... and it'll be more when age makes me need reading glasses. But even the solution brings problems because 99% of the people who use the Irlen method (for the overarching term "Irlen Syndrome") merely use it to help them read and don't have any severe symptoms. So I don't even know what to call it, other than a sensory issue. Anyway, you're very kind and it's clear you're helping a lot of people. Stay awesome.
Hi I rang pip this morning just to request my ATOS form and he was a very nice man and told me my results of the assessment review. I have been awarded enhanced daily living and standard mobility. I am happy with the results even though I feel I deserved enhanced mobility but after a year of waiting I’m quite content. I was only getting standard living. I don’t have the energy to take it to tribunal. He told me a back-payment has already been issued for the 1st of November. 😊😊😊
Lucas!!!!! Congratulations!!!!! I am soooo happy for you!! When it comes to your review push for the enhanced on the mobility then, I totally understand if you do not want to appeal at this time. Thank you so much for letting us know! Charlie
I'm having to start claiming benefits now due to the numerous physical problems I have, which have finally got the best of me after years of struggling and I was completely overwhelmed by the PIP form until seeing your amazing video, thank you so much for this, you are an absolute star ⭐
I loved every second of this vid. It took me 3 years to get pip because i wasn't able to get help with my form, eventually, I GOT PIP... took 4 years in total. My only gripe about this vid... is... there might be people out there who might see this vid, and theres nothing wrong them. No mental health issues, no nothing. And your revealing your skills to them. It would be better (in my humble opinion to you) if you had put this an email to those that REALLY need the help. However, thank you for tgis ibgo, its taught me where I went wrong.
That's great, do you have any questions today that I can help with? I will log back on at 14:00 to see if you have any so I can reply. I will also check my email: charlieisdisablednotdead@gmail.com Just in case you want to ask anything privately. If you get a chance, please let me know how it goes. GOOD LUCK! Charlie
Just sent off my forms , had a lady from a locsl centre help me to fill them in , so glad I watched this video first, sent them off on monday 🤞🙏 god bless you and thank you
Thank you so much for making this video. I was diagnosed with CFS 10 years ago and my husband has been on at me to apply for PIP ever since. I was extremely reluctant as I found the whole thing so daunting, still do a bit if I'm honest. Plus, I was hoping to get better. I am now going to start the process and rewatch this video to help me fill in the form. Thanks again,😊 Michelle 😊
Omg , I'm sat here crying I never realised how bad I am , I have just put in for pip feeling like maybe I shouldn't be , omg I definitely am entitled , is there any help for if I'm refused , you are amazing , what a generous person you are giving this exc ellent free advice 🎉❤
I'm just watching this video this morning &I'm the same, tears of relief, and frustration at myself & at the realisation of how many things are a problem that I'm so used to now I hadn't even considered! I hope your claim goes well...just embarking on doing mine this week!
Thank you so much for doing this video.I have left with chronic illness for 15 years. I have lost job after job because I can’t manage it and have a lot of time off. I’ve also hidden my illness in order to get jobs as I had to hide my disability as a very bad experience before and had to take it to tribunal which I did win, but I have never claim benefits. I’m always trying to hide my illness But it’s come to the point now where I admit defeat I’m having a bad crash since before New Year and I have to claim benefits, but I’m totally struggling even to put pen to paper and complete one question at a time. I can’t thank you enough for putting this video together. I have no money to pay anyone for any help. And you are right about having to face what you can’t do when I spent the last 15 years, trying to be positive about all the things that I can do. Xx
I have just started listening to this video. Thank you very very much. I am so stressed about this form. It is so so hard to go through what I am going through and I am hoping with your help to complete this form. God bless you Charlie🙏
Hi Charlie I'm so glad that I came across your utube channel it took me all day to fill in my pip form the other day I have various health issues and because I have severe depression ,anxiety and mental health problems it was hard to do I had to take many breaks and it was so draining thank you Charlie for sharing this video for us I will definitely keep you posted on how I get on with everything xx
Kim, thanks so much and YES please keep us updated. Please make sure you PRINT the POINTS off so when you have your assessment you stay focused and communicate what you need to. Everything is about how you explain it when they ask you questions Good luck xx Charlie
Hi Charlie, this is one thing I said to the assessor that I think everybody should know. When asked how I managed the going out and getting my shopping i said I DONT ! I have all my shopping delivered into my house, and rely on hot food from places like just eat and others . This got me 10 points on the moving around. I’m loving the furry family. My cat is the reason I get up in the morning. I haven’t got full pip Yet ! But with your help I’ll get there Thanks Martin 👍😺
This has been amazing help for me so far char y do we always leave this till the last minute I personally have found this re-assessment very frustrating and get distracted I was hospital izd 3 weeks in may till June I discharged myself I hope that won't work against me I've suffered from depression for 15 years and had a heart attack in 2017 two stent's in my right arm still not finished my form yet and I've only got 24 pages I've had no help watching this has been massive help big up to you for trying your best to help legitimate ppl, all the best Mark.
Thank you so much , found this so helpful . Applied 3 years ago and got 0 points !! I have plucked up the courage to apply again due to my health condition not improving .
Great video to help us, after the dwp 'cured' my multiple sclerosis of 12 years, with a pip assessment, it's taken me a year to get over the distress, I'm now going to reapply. I would say though that the music was a bit loud when you were speaking.
Just listened & subscribed, iv been ill for 3 years with PTSD ever since my stroke it lifted the lid on episode in my life , iv been through the PiP process went to appeal but wasn’t successful, since listening to you may try again, I’m still working , hart problems to list as well 👍
I’m 6 mins in just need to say thanks for putting this out. Bit overwhelmed so will come back to this later so I do get these forms done, but thanks. I needed to hear what you were saying at the start of the vlog
Thank you so so much for this video, my son is claiming as he’s turned 16 and is neurodivergent with anxiety and rapid mood changes, and I’m having to fill out the form for him and I’ve found it overwhelming myself.
Hello parent!! I am literally working on a guide for parents like you! It won't be done in time for you doing this form, but it will be up soon as I have had a number of parents in the same position as you x STICK TO THE POINTS Watch this one as well please: th-cam.com/video/VYDYTX2Ml1Y/w-d-xo.html
Hi Charlie, So glad i came across this. Starting my pip journey shortly....RRMS with a side order of lumber spondylosis, you don't realise how much everything effects you
Hello! I am so glad you found this before you started it, it will make it so much easier! If you get any quick questions just let me know. And please print off the points system and make notes on that, it really helps keeping you focused Good luck, if you can let us know how it goes Charlie
@@CharliesJourney thanks Charlie I will, I start disease modifying drug vumerity on the 15th also have occupational therapy home visit along with physiotherapy on the same day. The benefits of having MS I suppose, my work have been wide with me about to go onto half pay, occupational health have contacted them twice to get in contact with me(they haven't).Also my court date for the original assault at work has been constantly postponed now it's a couple of days shy of the exact date in January....hey ho onwards and upwards
Evening Charlie, background and update...so far....work or worked as a security officer in my local hospital planned restraint went tits up when NHS staff bolted, I was headbutted knock out came to with patient on top of me and 4 staff couldn't breathe was dragged out of room by my colleague who was also assaulted...I was just a passenger from then on....fast forward ms diagnosis May lawyer phoned their looking to see if this is trauma endured MS or PTSD induced ms anyway will probably be lots more test poked and prodded...my GM visited me last week and was shocked at my health conditions....she was asking if I have everything in place regarding wills ect lol like you say we're disabled not dead. She advocated ill health retirement as with every reasonable adjustment there would be no job that I could do so we'll have to wait and see how this plays out on her behalf......on the flip side got a phone call yesterday saying I've been awarded a blue badge can't drive at the moment...but will be good when going to appointments...family are my chauffeur at moment until I can start driving again.... anyway so glad your helping as many people as you are
Er.....I don't really have words for what you have been through! I am so pleased you now have a Blue Badge, they are like major freedom for us. You keep fighting the fight as clearly your life is massively impacted, I really hope it all works out for you! Take care and probably speak soon x
Wow your so right about the time it takes to fill this in started midday and only just finished it ,I think I have got everything in ,in my own words as yours looks a little bit too polished thanks for all your help in completing this monster I look forward to watching the rest of your pip vids and hopefully I'll get the claim result I should have had over 12 years ago
😂 omg when you said do you struggle getting dressed ,in my head I said no until you said do you take a break and I suddenly realised I do put all my bottom half on including shoes before I even pull my pants up because it's so painful to bend down for a second time and I've done this for so many years I didn't even consider it until you said . Big thanks for your advise . I didn't even know I could claim pip and my accident was 20 years ago
Last year I applied for pip and didn't score a single point, I've struggled since 2009 with my back, hip, groin and chronic pain I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis Jan 2024 I asked for mandatory reconsideration and have been refused that and have to do a whole new claim.... Thank you for the pointers and advice on the matter.
so glad you did this video, i have been in tears over trying 6 times to claim this everytime i have been given zero on everything, i have epilepsy, psorisis ,anxiety and depression, i also am fatigued and other issues i wont write here, but to them im fine to work..hope there is someway i can message privately if this will be ok
Thank you for going throught the forms.Would a person be eligible to score point in the eating in drinking section if they struggle with drink and need reminding to drink water but do not need promoting to eat meals.
Hi, My gut feel is: NO. As PIP will just say, if they remember to eat simply put a drink with the food. Or get a drink with the food. Sorry......this was a great question. Sorry PIP sucks Charlie P.S You can still try it....it is YOUR claim so you have to do what feels right for YOU x
Hi Charlie, This information is very insightful and provides clarity in compiling the PIP form This will be my first attempt to apply for this benefit.
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I have just received my PIP application form and was worried about how to fill it in using the correct words. I joined a few Facebook groups to hopefully get advice, but found that for each question asked there was conflicting replies which only added to my confusion. I will now go through this video again tomorrow and get my form filled in. 🤞
Hello! I avoid and request that people I am helping AVOID the chat groups as there is some really BAD advice being given out. If you have any questions after you have gone through it just let me know. Good luck Charlie
Thank you for the time and effort. You have allocated to this very pressing issue. I was unaware of the specifications for PIP. And what it entailed. I will thus make an application. And hope it will be granted. Under numerous ailments. That I am afflicted with. I will await the outcome accordingly!
Hi Charlie you are one in a million helping people your right when you explain to people how things should be worded and pointing out that you do get help with things and you say resting through the day should be put on the form and the tiolet issues were spot on but I was so pleased whot you said in the beginning to the f-----s that are lieing and making the prosess for people that need it to exist basically impossible and so stressful thank you for your help
Hi Charlie. I was diagnosed with a frontal lobe brain tumour in November 2022. After successful surgery i was left with a head swollen full of csf 'Cerebrospinal fluid' called Hydrocephalus. I had to have a shunt put in. To transfer the csf to my bladder area to be absorbed so can wee or out. Shunt surgery cause me to have hernia also. The next thing is now i have Bilateral Avascular Necrosis. Cause by steroids i was given in St Thomas hospital to keep my brain in check while i waited 3 weeks for a bed in Kinds college London. Where brain surgery took place. The steroids i was on had been dissolving my fema bone in hip, both hips. I just had my first hip replacement 2 weeks ago. Im in the process of filling out a pip form for the second time because my first claim was rejected, I didn't include my hip condition because i wasn't aware of it back then. What do you think my chances are now? Happy for any feedback
Wow you are amazing Today you made me smile and make the call . I have been of work and in bed since the end of April and in bed for 80% of the time. I have had one spinal surgery steroid injections and spinal block but nothing has worked. And now I am having my spinal fuse on the 19/11 . I have HEDS ibs depression and anxiety and never claimed anything. Wish me luck 🍀
Fantastic!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!! If you can, let me know how it goes. If you have any questions just drop me a message. I am working on a guide on the points system as well, so I am trying to get that complete for either 19th or 26th Take care Charlie
❤thank you so much for getting back to me. I really appreciate it. You have given me the courage to do this. What should I expect during in my assessment? Xx
Hello, please make sure you watch the shorts I have about the assessments. You do need to prep for it. I recommend having the points printed out and make notes on them. If possible, I would request a phone assessment. The reason for this is your pain levels. You want to AVOID the risk of brain fog, so avoid as much activity before the assessment so you can answer the questions clearly. And when they try and 'influence' you in some answers you can be alert to that. I am going to try and do some more guides soon, where I will pretend to be the PIP person. As I think that will help people. But, I want to get a guide done just on the points first. Good luck and if you have any other quick questions, just let me know Charlie
Hi Charlie Am so glad I found your channel, it's a huge inspiration and help. I've been (with help) filling in my application and one HUGE issue immediately was the 'character count' in the first couple of sections. We spent as long editing , re editing and multiple re editing! the sections. My meds, and conditions, took way more than the allowed 200 and 5000 characters. WHY WHY WHY didn't they configure it with a counter? WHY don't they explain it before hand? WHY don't they tell you that a space or a semi colon are counted? WHY don't they tell you how many you need to lose? My advice. - do it in word then use that to do a count. Then copy/paste it into the box. Chances are you'll still be over as there's a discrepancy appears to creep in. AND COPY/SAVE EACH PARAGRAPH ON THE WORD DOC in case you (or the programme!) lose it inadvertantly. (I can't help but wonder whether it was designed by Fujitsu......) Best wishes to you and all who struggle x
Thanks for this advice and guidance, unfortunately i keep falling asleep as im suffering with so much that its taking me several goes at watching this to take all the info in !!!!
Thank you my dear 🙏 God give you healing and patience !!please tell me can I pass my boy to Pip that he helps me? He is 15 years old! I had an operation for a herniated disc
I just want to say thank you Charlie for all your help with this daunting PIP form. The step by step guide is wonderfully done. Happy New Year, Charlie Anderson.
Hi, Thank you so much for your help. Your advice really is brave, honest and really helps to see things through a different lens. Couldn't have done this without you. Thank you. Health and happiness to you. Kind regards, Elaine
Thank you, Charlie, for a much needed video. I appreciate the time and effort you put into it. Tomorrow, health professionals are going to talk to my husband. Your video has made us confident. Would you mind making one on mental health also.❤ from 🇬🇧
Hello! I didn't realise until the TH-cam started to take off, that dealing with physical conditions like mine is the easy part when it comes to PIP. Trying to win when its mental health or learning disabilities is much more challenging! I am on a very steep learning curve at the moment, I will 100% be doing a guide specifically about mental health, one on learning disabilities and also OCD in the future. Thank you so much for commenting and good luck. If you are able please let me know how it goes Take care Charlie
Charlie thanks for this,i have been off sick since june, unable to work due to osteoarthritis in both knees worst of all i have it in my thumb and wrist, very painful,am living on sick pay.😢
Hey, how far through the application process are you? Also, have you got a good wrist support? Here is a link to one I use (this is an affiliate link so I think I make a couple of pence if you order from it....just want you to know before you use it): geni.us/qwIX8fO geni.us/oBff One link is left wrist, the other is right wrist. The supports make me sign in relief when I put them on. But remember, we cannot wear them all the time xx I hope you get PIP sorted! Charlie
Thank you so much for posting this. It will take me weeks to even watch this as I have just had terrible anxiety in the first seven minutes and cannot watch anymore. 🥴🥴 at the moment, wow it’s just crazy, how we suffer 😢😢 however, thank you very much and I will continue watching at some stage 🤣🙏🙏🙏💚xx
Charlie, THANK YOU so much for your detailed & easily understood explanation of the PIP claim form. Where can I print of the PIP ADL scoring sheets? xx
Hello.....cheeseypeas LOL I love that....but if someone gave me peas with cheese on I would be confused LOL I am really pleased this helped. There is no way you would be watching that guide UNLESS your life was really impacted in some way Let me know if you have any questions Thanks Charlie
Thanks for your time with this video...does it help if you send a letter from the doctor verifying the conditions. The form says not to send a doctors letter.
I’m convinced my pip review is in a outbox waiting to come, I definitely have to 1 be prompted to eat, I had bariatric surgery so don’t really feel hungry and then if food prepared for me I get annoyed because I’m full very quickly so the food is wasted, 2 even though I had bariatric surgery but over 12 years ago and I was after a time able to eat a little more, because I can’t eat normally I have been prescribed protein shakes from my gp because I lost 9 pounds within 3 weeks. I have many scans so I’ll see if what they show, as for pain meds I became very depressed and took 200 tramadol to end it. I have 24 different medications a day the strongest is a fentanyl patch and 1 litre per month. My story is a very complicated one and it’s hard to keep going. I do have a wet room but generally don’t go in unless being prompt unless I wet my self which is part of my story. I would possibly shower every few weeks as I don’t care. Normally I self catheterise because there is a communication problem with my bladder and use tena pads, this has been the case for 7 years. Thanks for these videos.
I forget things all time, thoughts will pop in & pop out my mind regularly & drives me nuts. "Brain Fog"-luv the wording. Really opened my eyes, THANKS. Would luv to ask u few questions bout my situ.but appreciate how busy & ill u are. Brilliant blogs, extremely informative n heloful
Hi Charlie, first I want to say the biggest thanks ever for what you are doing. I have fibromyalgia, arthritis all over my body and a whole bunch of other things. I have previously applied for pip and got 2 points, this is because I can actually ‘potter’ and manage to cook for my family and do jobs. Now my conditions have worsened and I am applying again. You have really helped me with understanding the wording. I cook for my family but they have to tell me a few times to get on with it. If I didn’t have them I wouldn’t bother. I am in so much pain I sit constantly so it takes me much longer to prepare a meal. I did want to ask you, if you don’t mind, I have just been diagnosed with peri menopause which is having a dramatic effect on me, I’m feeling more depressed and anxious as well as being bladder incontinent for a week before my period. Do I need to mention this or not as menopause is not really an illness just a part of life. I also take herbal supplements along with my prescription meds do I put those in. Thanks again for all your time and help.
question - you say you need a diagnosis to claim - is this always the case? Ive had severe fatigue for 2 years but cannot get a diagnosis as I don't have pain . The last doctor told me to do more exercise and take multi vitamins.
Thank you for your time. I have severe osteoarthritis and can no longer do a shift on a ward. I can’t sit for long either. I’ve had surgery and am having more.. feet and hands. But I can walk more than 20” metres? Help! What do i do? 😢
Hi everyone, here is a link to my weekly newsletter, I am adding a PIP section due to the increase in questions/feedback, please feel free to check it out if you are interested: charlieanderson.substack.com/ Thanks EVERYONE for watching and commenting! We will WIN! I send this weekly so its quicker to get updates and I chat about my life that week. Hope this helps as well x
Hi Charlie and thank you for your video's dealing with claiming pip. I had to go to tribunal in 2019 in my battle of appeal, pleased to say that my 'standard' rate was re-instated. Since then I have moved and had to change to a GP practice that is nearest and more convenient for me in 2021. A year later i have had constant battles trying to get even a miserly GP phone appointment which was rushed and I tried to bring up more health issues that have worsened, and a couple of new ailments. I was just told that I would have keep making appointments for other new ailments, which I have tried but with no luck. I have arthritis in all joints and have Been on waiting list to see specialist about treatment, possible surgery on my hands as at times the ache/pain is so bad that I do not know where to put them. I also have copd and get lung infections, visit hospital regularly for monitoring etc, my next app is in March. I have inhalers and capsules to help loosen mucus. I have just had my pip stopped and in the process of writing my appeal as I cannot understand why my 'standard' benefit has been stopped when my conditions/health have become worse. Your video struck a few cords with me as I am one of those who always tries to be as honest as possible but struggle to do things, but have to as I live alone. Sorry for going on, but I just wanted to thank you for making me realise a few points for my appeal. I wish you well also in your health battles
I take breast cancer treatment which blocks oestrogen - no diagnosis of a condition as such. The lack of oestrogen impacts on me every day of my life in different ways. Will this help me to get PIP please? Tia
I am mentally exhausted. just listening to a section of this .I made calls this moring which I have been putting of because of brain freeze and brain fog..It is 1 30 need to go back to bed
Hi Charlie, thanks for all your work! I am about to do my first review. Shall I write the same things that were in original form I sent 3 years ago and send the same doctors letters? As some advice to put ‘no change’ if there’s not much change. Thank you ❤
Thank you so much for the feedback, I have lowered the volume going forward. I cannot go back and change it now, so sorry! Hopefully the newer ones will be better!
thanks ive just watched the whole thig. however 1 of my conditions...endometriosis,varies from the everyday pain to chronic where i cant talk or move or stand.its the same as being in labour. but how do i say i cant do anything in every section even though sometimes i can do most thing? thanks xxx
I have wanted to cry watching some of your advice guilt of not being able to do some thing’s and the constant pain trying to do things burning myself thank you
Can you advise if you drive ( I have an automatic car) but I’m such a nervous driver I have to have someone to be with me to tell which lane to be in. I can’t go to new places due to complex understanding of sat nav or new journey I don’t notice signs due to anxiety. How do I put this across on pip mobility. On a FIBRO ME FOOT DROP falls AND moderate lower limb oedema , asthma cold, angina. Anxiety and depression On flare up day I get a taxi. Assistance from family or friends every time I go out. I had carers but they were £1000 per month but stopped them as ran out of money . I have blister packs& prompting , I still didn’t get the higher daily living or higher mobility. I’ve requested a new assessment. Please advised about driving. What to put . Thank you the blog was amazing g 🙏

Hi Charlie
How can i get pip form
@@angelastylianou1 you need to call the PiP claim line to start your claim. Then you'll be able to either fill the form out online or they'll send you a paper form to fill out.
Omg I’m crying just from the first few minutes. I had no idea how much I struggle day to day. The comment about take aways just made me crumble. So many realisations that I’ve been minimising my ‘disability’ as I’ve always had to be the strong independent one. I literally struggle everyday and I guess I thought it was normal. Thank you thank you thank you. The veil has been lifted🙏🏼💜
❤ I hear you
I’m filling out this form for my son and I’m mortified at the pages but I’m trying my best because he deserves the help and support.
Thanks
Hi Kimmy im about to start for my son too how did you get on ? Im his appointee so wondering if i fill form in his words or my words 🥴
Not all hero’s wear capes !
Charlie I want to say a huge Thank You !!
I followed your guidelines closely when I filled my form out
It’s the first time I have applied and I have been awarded enhanced for both daily and mobility which is such a huge relief and will improve my quality of life massively
Thank you
My friends have been nagging me for years to claim this but I have been too proud . I’ve decided to make a claim . I’ve worked all my life and have never claimed benefits except in between jobs which has been rare . Thank you for this Charlie. 🙏
never be too proud nearly 4 million in the UK and counting are not
Thank you so much for helping us, and being honest and candid, while suffering so much yourself.
Its so hard to fight to just get out of bed, let alone completing the PIP process
Stay strong
Charlie
Take care.
Hi Charlie, just come across ur channel, I've got a video call tomorrow for pip and I'm so so scared 😨
I've worked all my life until work and gps have abused, harrassed, victimized, threatened and ignored me😨😨and forced me to take something I didn't want to take😢 and now I suffer with pains, fear, isolation and server anxiety.
Not all heroes wear capes ❤️💕
thank you for this , its been so helpful. for ages i put off applying and then my father was really ill and then passed away last year.
Hi Joanne,
Thanks so much for the feedback, I have been trying to tone down my er....assertiveness as I used to be a Transport Specialist so the terminology was very different LOL. But I had to leave that bit in!
As you are still working, they will ask you things like:
- How long can you sit at a desk for?
- How long can you stand for?
Some of the assessments of people working seem brutal, but have confidence as I was employed full time when I won PIP for myself. I was running a very large contract. But even though I was working, it did not change the fact that I was struggling with daily tasks.
I hope you have pain meds. Back pain is the worst!
I would recommend you have the scoring system and make notes on it for your assessment. It will help keep you on track and it will (hopefully) keep your confidence if they try and fob off an answer. So you stick to your guns.
If you can, let me know how it goes. And if you have any questions, please let me know
Take care
Charlie
@@CharliesJourney thank you. I will let you know x

" Excellent Podcast Charlie , my friend whose also disabled like me I've forwarded your'e TH-cam Page onto her as if you don't mind me saying it's outstanding I do hope you get recognition from the Disability Council of the UK etc

God bless you
Hello,
I am so happy the guide helped. If we all just accept the process and work with it, honestly its not that bad. The challenge is being self aware and being able to talk openly about it.
I am working on a new guide on the points, so this will be done in time for your application. I think you will find it really helpful.
Take care of yourself and good luck with your claim
Charlie
P.S If you watch the Tribunal guides as well, it just gives you a different view of the sections PIP will focus on. I am hoping with the different cases I work on, people will find more similarities with their own situations so its easier to go through the process xx
I will, thank you so much .. God bless your heart and soul @@CharliesJourney
Glad I came across you I've been struggling for about 5yrs with my illness and you have helped me to be honest about myself thanks
Thanks so much for commenting
Charlie
Oh dont fall for the light touch crap, yes you may not have an assessment for ten years, but be aware regardless of the ten year light touch review, they can still call you in for a full assessment when ever they choose, and this does happen trust me.
I am on 10 years ongoing and still have 3 years left till the ‘light touch’ and they are reassessing me for no reason
Don’t believe them
A brilliant video.
Hello,
I totally understand what you mean about the aftermath when you do things. Have you gone through the points and seen where you score? If you score high enough, go for it!
Take care of yourself
Charlie
Please take care of yourself
Charlie
Thank you so much, if I meet anyone else with the condition I will 100% direct them to you xx

However, thank you for tgis ibgo, its taught me where I went wrong.
as a 16 year old this help me understand and know what to do thank you
Thank you so much for uploading this video. MY SON'S ASSESSMENT IS TOMORROW. i WILL BE THERE. YOU HAVE EASED OUR STRESS

You are a star. I’ve been helping people for years complete this form. This is very helpful.
Everything is about how you explain it when they ask you questions
Good luck xx

Hi Charlie, this is one thing I said to the assessor that I think everybody should know. When asked how I managed the going out and getting my shopping i said I DONT ! I have all my shopping delivered into my house, and rely on hot food from places like just eat and others . This got me 10 points on the moving around. I’m loving the furry family. My cat is the reason I get up in the morning. I haven’t got full pip Yet ! But with your help I’ll get there Thanks Martin 👍😺
Hey not much genuine people out there who are truly helping people out the way you have Charlie, wishing you all the best with your Chanel.
Just finished watching this video and you are amazing
Hi, I promise in person I can be annoying at times LOL

Going to do mine in the next few weeks and this will help me tremendously
Fantastic, if you get any questions just let me know.
Remember, the points scoring is key...

Hi Charlie, So glad i came across this. Starting my pip journey shortly....RRMS with a side order of lumber spondylosis, you don't realise how much everything effects you
Hello!
I am so glad you found this before you started it, it will make it so much easier! If you get any quick questions just let me know.
And please print off the points system and make notes on that, it really helps keeping you focused
Good luck, if you can let us know how it goes
Charlie
@@CharliesJourney thanks Charlie I will, I start disease modifying drug vumerity on the 15th also have occupational therapy home visit along with physiotherapy on the same day. The benefits of having MS I suppose, my work have been wide with me about to go onto half pay, occupational health have contacted them twice to get in contact with me(they haven't).Also my court date for the original assault at work has been constantly postponed now it's a couple of days shy of the exact date in January....hey ho onwards and upwards
Blimey! Good luck, if you can please let me know how it goes! xx
Just came across this and it’s very informative helpful and so so true everything you say is spot on thank you 🙏
Last year I applied for pip and didn't score a single point, I've struggled since 2009 with my back, hip, groin and chronic pain I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis Jan 2024 I asked for mandatory reconsideration and have been refused that and have to do a whole new claim....
Hi,
My gut feel is: NO. As PIP will just say, if they remember to eat simply put a drink with the food. Or get a drink with the food.
Sorry......this was a great question. Sorry PIP sucks
Charlie
P.S You can still try it....it is YOUR claim so you have to do what feels right for YOU x
@@CharliesJourney Thank you that is dissapointing to know.
So sorry.....don't forget you CAN ignore me.....do what YOU feel is right x
Hi Charlie,
This information is very insightful and provides clarity in compiling the PIP form
This will be my first attempt to apply for this benefit.
Good luck
Charlie
A great help I had forms in tje envelope and stuck down I reopened and I've added Brilliant thank you so much x
Just had to send this too my missus who is petrified of the assessment! Hopefully she will realise how bad her problems are! 👍🏻😙
Wow you are amazing
Today you made me smile and make the call .
I am working on a guide on the points system as well, so I am trying to get that complete for either 19th or 26th
Take care
Charlie
Good luck and if you have any other quick questions, just let me know
Charlie
Hi Charlie
Am so glad I found your channel, it's a huge inspiration and help.
(I can't help but wonder whether it was designed by Fujitsu......)
Best wishes to you and all who struggle x
Many thanks for information presented so well. I was terrified even to start on making application. Now I know I can do it.
If you are able please let me know how it goes
Take care
Charlie
@CharliesJourney Charlie, thanks eons.
The interview was terrific 🙌. Will let you know the results when they're communicated to me.
Thank you I have just about got myself in the right mental frame of mind to start looking at my appeal paperwork appreciate your videos.
Charlie thanks for this,i have been off sick since june, unable to work due to osteoarthritis in both knees worst of all i have it in my thumb and wrist, very painful,am living on sick pay.😢
Hey, how far through the application process are you? Also, have you got a good wrist support?
Here is a link to one I use (this is an affiliate link so I think I make a couple of pence if you order from it....just want you to know before you use it):
geni.us/qwIX8fO
geni.us/oBff
One link is left wrist, the other is right wrist. The supports make me sign in relief when I put them on. But remember, we cannot wear them all the time xx
I hope you get PIP sorted!
Charlie
Thank you so much for posting this. It will take me weeks to even watch this as I have just had terrible anxiety in the first seven minutes and cannot watch anymore. 🥴🥴 at the moment, wow it’s just crazy, how we suffer 😢😢
however, thank you very much and I will continue watching at some stage 🤣🙏🙏🙏💚xx
Charlie, THANK YOU so much for your detailed & easily understood explanation of the PIP claim form. Where can I print of the PIP ADL scoring sheets? xx
Thank you. This has given me confidence to make a claim. I've been too scared before because they already took away some of my ESA.
Hello.....cheeseypeas LOL I love that....but if someone gave me peas with cheese on I would be confused LOL
I am really pleased this helped. There is no way you would be watching that guide UNLESS your life was really impacted in some way
Let me know if you have any questions
Thanks
Charlie
Thanks for your time with this video...does it help if you send a letter from the doctor verifying the conditions. The form says not to send a doctors letter.
Thank you looking at the video is like having a PiP's Angel
That was so helpful. Thank you. Love your cat by the way.
Hi, would you suggest doing the application form on paper or online? Is one way better than the other?
I’d like to ask about the medication part. I don’t take prescribed medication, I take supplements instead. Do I write those down?🙏🏼
question - you say you need a diagnosis to claim - is this always the case? Ive had severe fatigue for 2 years but cannot get a diagnosis as I
don't have pain .
I know it is a bit of a daft question to ask but do you photocopy the questionaire before or after filling it in
what do i do if not enough spaces to input name of each different conditions in the columns . thanks
Massive THANK YOU...And funny ,,,its great the way you lay it out.....hope doggy ok bless X.
Hi everyone, here is a link to my weekly newsletter, I am adding a PIP section due to the increase in questions/feedback, please feel free to check it out if you are interested:

Thanks EVERYONE for watching and commenting!
Tia
Does PIP affect my pension?
I am mentally exhausted. just listening to a section of this .I made calls this moring which I have been putting of because of brain freeze and brain fog..It is 1 30 need to go back to bed
I’m about to do mine !!!
Hi Charlie, thanks for all your work! I am about to do my first review. Shall I write the same things that were in original form I sent 3 years ago and send the same doctors letters? As some advice to put ‘no change’ if there’s not much change.
Thank you ❤
Hi there, please can I get more information about your help with pip form filling. Thank you
Thank you for this video. If someone is a student and receives student finance, can he or she get PIP?
Really good content but I am struggling to tune out the background music (beautiful and low volume as it is)
Thank you so much for the feedback, I have lowered the volume going forward. I cannot go back and change it now, so sorry!
Hopefully the newer ones will be better!
Thank you so much for your honesty and help 😊
Thanks for this video. Can you type up answers then print and stick them in? I can’t handwrite due to pain so this would be an easier option.
thanks ive just watched the whole thig.
however 1 of my conditions...endometriosis,varies from the everyday pain to chronic where i cant talk or move or stand.its the same as being in labour. but how do i say i cant do anything in every section even though sometimes i can do most thing? thanks xxx
Can you explain the age cap. Apparently anyone over retirement age cannot apply.
Hi Charlie, thank you so much for helping ❤ have you got a version without the background music ❤
I have wanted to cry watching some of your advice guilt of not being able to do some thing’s and the constant pain trying to do things burning myself thank you
Do you have advice on change of circumstances to current conditions please
Hi if i have arthritis in both hands, and due for a trapzectomy, do you think i could claim pip. Thanks
Thank you Charlie for your work and videos 😊
I really do not think you should be driving, you sound very dangerous, please consider stopping before you hurt someone or yourself.
