Be careful with this build because the mana burners will get rid of your entire mana in an instant! After that, if somebody spits on you, you die. You don't need to put all points on energy. I find that at around 700 mana or so, the mana barely moves already. Dump some points on vitality.
I see what your saying and that is a way to go but it's not an "Immortal Sorc" you just can't achieve being a super tank. Honestly 2k mana is likely the bare minimum and scratching the surface. Of course you want a lot of block and as much damage reduction as possible too. You can always throw on some small life charms (till you get the build perfect) but in the true end build to achieve "Immortal" status you want mana and more mana with as much Warmth and regen as possible.
Going from 2k mana too 2500 starts to be an exponential gain in tankyness due to the synergy of the build and where you won't ever use mana pots again. This guy does a great job on his vids with information but just needs some better gear/charms. Only true Immortal sorc vid I seen the guy had 4k mana which is really where you want to be and was actually tanking with only 1 hp to showcase being Immortal. Literally won't ever die which is how the build got it's name.

This was a really good idea actually.. been playing with my blizz sorc since start, and made this change.
Only thing is that I have not yet gotten the reduced dmg, but I am kinda surprised how tanky this is, even without reduced dmg.
I was suprised too, then when i added the reduced demage its insane!

It used to be that resistances are applied after the energy shield amount is calculated, so getting your resists above 0% was nowhere near as important, other than for conviction aura, which might allow you to shift a bit more towards better offensive damage gear - or did they change that in D2R?

Traded an Ist rune for a perfect Vipermagi (35 All Res and 12 Magic Damage Reduction) yesterday. Socketed that armor and my Harlequin Crest with Sol runes just like the video. Also running two Nagelrings which have Magic Damage Reduction. I decided to max Telekinesis (for a bit more DR) and do 4 hard points into Energy Shield like OSGS suggests. I can confirm with that setup that you are basically "immortal" just like in the video. My resists are in the 50+ range at the moment, and will approach perfect as soon as I get a sorceress torch and make a few optimizations to my charms. This build is really fun and removes all the anxiety from accidentally teleporting into packs of monsters, which makes for a bigger deal than you might think. All of my farming is now extremely chill and relaxed, and my Blizzard is still strong enough to basically one-shot everything.
Is this over all better to kill bosses/clear areas on p8 compared to the firewall/Energy shield or the normal full blizz dps spec?
Is it HC proof though? Such low life and Manaburn sounds kind a scary.

NICE BUILD. I think you can just take the mana shield and build whatever type of sorc you want as long as you have the energy shield set up right.
I've always been hesitant to rely on energy shield because of the mana burn bug. do you think that's enough of an outlier to just go ES anyway?

Why don't you use glacial spike or other spells on position 1? Casting and targeting would be super easy - shift left click and away the projectile goes!
memory(LumIoSolEth) has +3sorc +3energy shield. if your base staff has +3energy shield you get a level 9 energy shield WITHOUT PUTTING ANY POINTS INTO IT. it also gives you a level 5 static field. this way you can save 2 skill points, get a higher energy shield and it is also dirt cheap (at least when you build it into a plain base staff, or one that has +1cold armor to save another skill point. the dream would be a 4 socket staff with +3 energy shield +x cold armor. this item would be super valuable and is the reason why i pick up every single grey staff to have a look at.)
if only you could equip that and cta at the same time...i would also consider to replace spirit with lidless wall. this way you can save alot of status points since you dont need barb like strength levels for more energy and lidless also has +10% max mana. i could go on forever, like fcr and fhr caps...sry bro, i dont consider this a good or complete guide, but some pointers.

You can use memory runeword and save even more points by not picking energy shield and reaching 75% with only your gear. Btw you should try nova build, it’s really fun and clear super fast, I’m loving it right now.

Yes nice video! Also try this build with more mana. E.g wizzy as you said it’s best choise. Boots with mana fhr res mf, 2x soj, Cham shako, viper is solid, I think arachnid is essential and frostburn. Then you need mix charms life/res and cold sks or light if you go nova to boost your dmg. Also I think merc is decent and you can play with a lot of gear, e.g. bone skull 2soc with ias res stuff like that!
Dude just get thirteen extra skills and any build can be godly. The problem is getting that gear in the first place without dying from boredom

I've lost two HC Sorceresses to death explosion frost novas. It's stupid but it happens because you feel like you're winning and you're way out of range of that slow zombie, then it dies and you don't have time to escape the expanding blue ring of death.

Wow I got the vipermagi torso and have been using it but didn’t think it was endgame good, that’s awesome. This build is super amazing tho! I’ve been working up a Orb/fireball sorceress and she’s great but this is mighty appealing. Great job as always.

sCreb Lord yeah fam I first did a pure blizzard sorceress and then got to hell and was like “... fuq” lol it’s great for bosses but general enemy killing is rough so I went with an orb fireball to mix it up and it’s going alright.

It doesn't work that way. Dmg to mana only gives mana for the dmg he takes after mana shield. I mean it's not bad. but not must have.

@@gryu325 , he mentiones several times this video he is using a hero builder to create load characters which can then be played offline with all the godly gear you can ever want. If anything its a nice tool to test out how good a build can become like he does here, but it generally takes a lot of time of playing to get to this kind of gear.

You should try immortal Fire Wall.... don't need as much gear and warmth is part of the build. I'm 72 and doing it on single player, running players 5 and melting all the act bosses on NM with VERY budget gear. I do have the shield, which made my mind up to make this build, but I'm still sporting some blue gear and it works like a charm. Gonna need some more items before Hell level though.

I love this build. I'm currently playing hardcore in season 2. Now we have sundered charms and blizzard is stronger than ever. My goal is to replicate this build but add on a bit more cold res to counteract the sunder charm. Hopefully I won't rip first!

How many +skill items would you recommend before switching over from plain blizzard sorc? I have a lvl 82 one right now I run Andy/Meph/Cows on and I'm at 200mf and +3 skills

where can i get those resist charms and rings and ammys i need them bad or my resist isnt strong enough for the build. I literally have every single item but im still dying
Would this be good on a low/poorly geared sorceress? Or is this only viable with lots of +skills? I haven't even found Shako or Vipermagi or any good amulets or helms, only spirit on sword and shield. OR is this build dependent on huge +skills?
Blizz isn't too reliant on +skills, no. It would help for speed on larger bosses like meph/baal/wave5 baal for pure speed but as low as 2-3k blizz can viabley clear hell.

If you are lower on gear, id skip energy shield and max out blizzard and its synergies. Tons of damage, just have to kite. Even on cows, glacial the ones closes to you and blizzard all. Rinse and repeat. Blizzard honestly is easy with almost no gear.

I did respec to this today. You can feel that you have fewer damage but the survivability is a lot higher. I can TP through endurance of hate without getting oneshotted. You should give it a try!
How good is this spec compared to the other sorc specs ? Can i solo meph P8 with this spec if i have more or less same gear as you, maybe a little worse. ATM I'm running FW spec where i can solo P8 bosses but kinda.... that i only have 1 spell, other then bosses it isn't really good since if mobs fire immune = gg also what FCR do you run 105?
Soloing P8 mephisto is trivial with any sorc build if you know the moat trick. You can use firewall or blizzard.
I think build shines in places like trav or chaos sanctuary.
The mana burn mobs are indeed a problem, I myself am curious about Respec'ing because of the mana burn bug
@@TheRedshirt someone told me that only normal mobs have better drop on P8. Rare , golden mobs and bosses doesn't have better loot when P8 someone told me. But yeah i want normal blizz atm. Since i dont have the shield for this build.
I wonder how tal rasha's belt influences this build with 37% dmg going to mana. Any experience with how this works?
71% of damage taken by mana and 29% taken by life. About a third of this goes back to mana so 8%. So in the end you take 21% damage to life (minus resistances and DR & MDR) and 63% to mana. That's exactly like 2 more points into Telekinses (which I would rather max out, since you get more benefit toward the end with each point)
@@GP-qb9hi Sounds awesome as an addition to up the shield even more. But doesn't sound enough to counter any manaburn (if it's even applied in the order that would bring any use for countering manaburn at all).
I'm thinking about -> getting hit by manaburn -> mana gets burned -> dmg gets taken -> mana gets generated by %damage to mana .. not sure if that's the order though
As i'm sure you are aware people were doing this back when d2 was new, for the longest of time maxing res+dmg reduction was the norm. Virtually every class used some combination of string/gaze/storm/harly/shaft before the rune words made it faster to kill going for all out attack and before people figured out better builds for pure killing where you dont need defence as you just kill everything too fast.

Is the mana from battle orders additive or multiplicative with magefist?
70% mana and HP changes things quite a bit.
He does a budget version to showcase the viability of the build.
@@ahouat7913 he has runed gear and perfect charms, so I'm not sure that is accurate. A CTA isn't crazy expensive and is worth discussing
@@TheRedshirt with sol..... Its not game changer, the gear he has like viper, shako, occy, and spirit are all very easy to find and make. He is not using torch, anni, coh, hoto or death fathom, and no cold gcs.
He is just showcasing the viability of the build with basic sorc gear, you can upgrade it however you want
what about monsters that one hit your mana pool? I tried this build around lvl 80 and constantly got boned in hell due to mana thieving monsterS

This is a very enjoyable build for farming. Tbh occy gets me killed more than it saves me, and the extra tankiness from this is a huge help

You could but fire is faster for normal. Find a good leaf rune word base and you’re g2g
If I understand correctly fire or lightning are better to level up with. I'm starting with lit but I'll switch to blizzard later.
Honestly from scratch, you aren't gonna have any fun leveling as a sorc.. but the start is very easy and by 24, you can use blizzard, I'd suggest firewall build with leaf prior.. maybe even until ur 30s. Firewall is an insanely powerful skill.
The ice tree isn't great for leveling and running through the game. It's technically viable, but slow and harder. Also, dumping all your points into mana and none into vitality will allow most things to one shot you before you get energy shield. Def not recommended to start with something to respect into later on when you have some better gear and the points to spend

I obviously don’t have same gear and only level 79 but any idea to why I followed this pretty good and am taking massive damage still? I rushed someone in norms and normal Baal was kicking my ass, so was Nm meph… I’m also doing almost no damage

there's an act 5 quest that give you a socket as a reward.

How do you suggest leveling into this build? Probably fire first then Respec into blizzard at 24. Then how should skills go leveling from there ?

@@LeslieSnipes This comment didn't help at all. The whole point is to run Blizzard which does more DPS than Orb actually does. I was asking how he suggests leveling up through the game once you've hit 24 and can spec into blizzard
How to kill immu cold monsters?
A query - would damage taken goes to mana help? I was just looking at Hwanin belt and made me think of that.
Not really because that "damage taken goes to mana" only works from the life pool and not just flat damage taken. It essentially wouldn't kick in until Energy shield wore off or depleted the entire mana pool first. It should help in keeping some mana when taking damage while the mana pool is depleted though and thus allowing the energy shield to work again but with warmth and insight you wouldn't really run the risk of an empty mana pool. I know energy shield doesn't negate all damage and only a percent of it depending on the level of energy shield and the damage that escapes it doesn't count towards giving mana back either from stat. I could be wrong but that is my best understanding.
Not really. That's a whole 'nother build. The way this one works is you have a fairly high level energy shield that absorbs incoming damage at an efficient rate (thanks to the TK synergy) and whatever gets through the mana shield then gets reduced by the 'damage/magic damage reduced by x' integer and resistances gear is the final order of operations. What's left would then hypothetically go back to mana, as part of any 'x damage taken goes to mana' gear. The problem is, after all that damage mitigation, that's going to be completely negligible. Damage Taken Goes To Mana is kind of like a reverse mana leach. It works off of whatever damage YOU take. Mana shield on the other hand is all about reducing damage to nothing or near to nothing as possible.

For the merc I like holy freeze w a cold sunder to slow everything down. Then u don't need decrepify as much but I do like decrepify for ubers etc.
Your vipermagi is it the upgraded version? The base defense is around only 270 right? Your is like 1k

That is subtracted at the end, so it would 35% of fk all.

Isn't Magic Damage Reduction referring to actual Magic-type damage (bone spear from Claw Vipers, Bone Spirit from Oblivion Knights, etc.), not Elemental damage?

Nope, the magic damage is count to fire / cold / lighting... maaaybe poison. The only thing what can make magic damage reduc i think its a crafted ring or amulet what can have i think 8% magic dmg reduction thats can reduc real magic dmg

What about all the items that give % of damage to mana? I can stack up to 70% of damage to mana so hits that make it would just refill it. Am I missing something?
That returned amount is just from the physical dmg received (non-magic) that isn't already absorbed by your shield or reduced by gear. Meaning, it becomes a very, very small amount, and stacking Return % Dmg as Mana isn't viable. Looked into it myself several years ago wondering if a truly immortal energy shield sorc would be possible by stacking that very thing. It wasn't or the dev team would have hotfixed that years ago :)
I wonder how a radiance helm would synergize with this build. It has both dmg and mag dmg reduction with 15% dmg goes to mana so whatever does come through refills mana 🤔🤔🤔
Unfun fact: the higher your energy shield level, the less useful that "percent dmg goes to mana" is. It takes the final dmg that your hp orb takes after all dmg reductions and after energy shield, and throws it over to the mana orb, but the energy shield subtracts your mana at the very end, and its calculation ignores your resistances, so a big enough hit or a small hit from a mana burn monster will always empty your mana orb even with dmg goes to mana, and the more resists and damage reductions you have, the less mana you get from dmg goes to mana. Apparently if you have a lvl27 energy shield which is 82%, you'd need 342% dmg taken goes to mana at lvl 20 telekinesis to offset the hit your mana takes, assuming 0 resists and 0 dmg reductions. If you have higher resists or dmg reductions your need even more.

Not possible. You can re-roll affixes on rares, and upgrade the base armor for defense or weapon for damage but that's it unless they add it in.

Ehm, as far as i know resistances don't matter at all for energy shield, correct me if im wrong though.
edit: think the resistance counts for the damage that is applied on the health, which is not a lot, but still matters

Probably not then unless your merc is legendary. Also note that those annoying act 5 succubus things can hit you with blood mana which really hurts es sorcs

You can get a Maras fairly fast. Literally like maybe 50 Pindle runs. Soj never really dropped that often unless you do like 1000 NM Andy runs

I think that one improvement is to use a couple of Vulpine items with 7-12% damage taken to mana or Ith rune on armor with 15% damage to mana. I believe that in this case you first getting hit and even mana burned but some mana should be added instantly and Energy shield remains still active. But might be wrong nor sure.
You want flat integer reduction like sol rune and mal runes

At the time blizzard got cooldown you can cast another skill at least 2 times

Yea Blizz Sorc is the best. Lot's of good places to MF you just need an insight merc. Gets the ball rolling for you to make and gear other characters.
