This is legit an all time favorite album of mine. To this day I wish Pierre Bourne could produce a soundtrack for a video game, something like sonic the hedgehog. The beats on this are so whimsical and colorful, it really takes me to a different place. Pierres lyrics were not my shit at first but after some time I would catch slick and creative bars. One of my favorite albums, I personally enjoy the Deluxe version of TLOP4. Because it has 3 songs that I always listen to in order "Sossgirl, Sossboy and Deja Vu". I'm so happy you gave Pi'erre a chance, most people won't because they only see him as a producer but he's so talented as an artist as well.
Please make a video on the deluxe ! It was originally Tlop5 but he changed it to the Deluxe for personal reasons. ITs a whole ass other album not just a deluxe and the transitions on the deluxe are next level ! The deluxe is just as good as the regular album. It has my favorite songs of his on it tho. So Doublemint, Horoscopes, & Romeo have reversed melodies which is why they sound kinda odd but addictive. When you reverse melodies, they produce this sort of pull effect to the ears
pierre was a producer for other rappers and literally slept in the studio because he had no where else to go also he would be working with rappers all week and only have time for himself at the end of the week on sundays and focus on his own music. imagine being exhausted from working with everyone else wishing it was you doing work for yourself and only to have a little bit of energy to work on yourself. hes a soldier man his come up is crazy
It was a very special time in my life discovering Playboi Carti and Pierre Bourne music back to back. The production is just incredible. Pierre’s rapping leaves something to be desired at times but it’s never truly off putting or ruins the vibes of the song.
