I usually sleep to call me kevin streams, his voice helps me sleep and I woke up crying literally crying because his cover of take on me was so beautiful
man, that little impromptu concert at the end was so beautiful :') we all know how talented kev is but seeing and hearing that in real time was astonishing honestly
He’s got a great ear, and he’s gotten so good so fast. Mallet percussion is my bread and butter, but I flatter myself to think I can sing as well as Kev, and play guitar a little better (the effect of much more practice time, not talent.) But, I can do one and only one of those things at a time. The fact that Kev can play *and* sing without weeks of practice, fighting himself every step of the way to follow two rhythmic structures at once with two different parts of his body, blows my mind. The fact he plays rhythm as opposed to lead makes it easier, but it’s still damned impressive and I’ve *never* been able to develop a knack for it.
@@juliahorn3659 i think even doing both at once can get better with practice! sure it wouldn't be easy, but hey, u can play the guitar and that alone isn't easy. u already are plenty capable and given the appropriate training u could honestly master singing and playing a tune at the same time. i think he was always a good singer, he uploaded that country road video almost 2 years ago now, and he said earlier last year that the guitar has been a big passion of his so he's probably been practicing that for longer than we may think. not trying to discredit him ofc, his talent is sublime and just having the confidence to do either one let alone both at the same time, in front of an audience as well, is just incredible to me. im just saying, u could probably get better at that too yourself, just needs a whole lot of effort and patience i suppose haha

It’s either that I don’t have a knack for it (I can play set, but it took a lot of untraining) or that because I started as a symphonically trained percussionist I have (again, I flatter myself) impeccable rhythm, but the tools I used that are now just instinct preclude me from being able to perform two rhythms simultaneously. It is an effort of pure will, when trying to do what Kev’s doing, not to accent strum on every voice accent.
