Thanks for sharing how to get rid of weeds in the lawn. Lovely. Cheers from the top of the mountain.

Great video thanks. I am South African living in Portugal. I planted both kikuyu and Bermuda. I prefer tge kikuyu as while they both run, the kikuyu is easy to control while the Bermuda gets everywhere and when I pull it out of the beds it grips and leaves roots. I hope in time the kikuyu will take over.

Great video sir. I get some oxalis from my neighbor each season. Tough little weed to control. I need to treat soon before it spreads too much.

Yeah I thought I was smart when I decided to mow my neighbours lawn for them. Ended up bringing home some crab grass

So pleased to find a video done by a South African ! Please help ...my main problem at the moment is duiweltjies and other thorns ..don't know where they came from but the lawn is so bad that I was thinking the only solution would be to replace it all but the property is so big. Also have other weeds . It is autumn and we are in Westonaria( near Randfontein) . Can I spray now ? The lawn was mainly Kikuyu but seems like bemuda has taken over more area( a blueish green grass). This lawn used to be so lekker but I am now in dispair

Thanks for subscribing, Melene! Luckily those weeds are relatively easy to get rid of. Especially in kikuyu and Bermuda. It will just take a few months to completely clear up the area(1 application of post-emergent herbicide per month), and then some simple maintenance in future, but the majority will be dealt with from the first application. Ideally, it’s best to tackle big weed issues in spring, or in winter but only if the grass is fully dormant. If it’s slightly awake, it can become damaged. I also have options for Pre-emergence which can be used now, and will at least slow down the infestation, but it’s a little expensive. Jump onto my website and pop me an email with some pics, and I’ll supply you with directions to sort them out. Cheers, Trav

What if kikuyu IS the weed! And you would rather have the dichondra etc..i.e how do we do the opppsite results to this video?

Unfortunately in that case it’s glyphosate, which will kill everything and then you’ll need to start again.

can you recommend a tank cleaner product, i hear bleach also does the job?

Hey Carlos, Rolfes Agri’s Clean Out is a good option as a proper tank cleaner. I am not sure about bleach. Doesn’t sound like something I want to try. Even a good wetting agent will help you rinse your tanks better. Tank cleaners are really for when you’ve let stuff sit in the tank for a while and you don’t clean regularly. If you rinse nicely after a dodgy tank mix, that is usually okay.
