I miss jamie , adam is cool don't get me wrong but i can relate more to jamie...i always watch his videos when they pop up .... They both inspired me to become a craftsman through mythbusters
@@bannablitz247 I quit watching Adam when he tore apart several brand new tape dispensers, glued them together, and made a tape dispenser that wasn't as nice the brand new tape dispensers he ruined.
The hilarious parts is the clump of clamps behind Jamie here, where Savage goes for ordering everything methodically and maniacally... Different strokes.
It's awesome to see new content of Jamie (even if it wasn't filmed recently). I can understand why he seems so nervous to me. I get that exact same way whenever I tried to give any kinds of speeches or anything like that in school or on camera unless I had a script. Even then you could hear some of the same sort of nervousness in my voice (or I could later anyway). That's what made Jamie and Adam so great as a team. They are opposites. I can relate more to Jamie in that way and I completely understand why he didn't participate much with Tested and why the two of them don't talk much. I also love Adam though because he's just the great charismatic guy who is dorky and loves to cosplay and make cool things.
Brilliant! Only thing I would add to the electrical is a VoltAlert pen. Good to have a non-contact way of knowing if mains wiring is live before going for the multimeter probes! If there is space drop in a small electric screwdriver too for those bits (USB chargeable). I guess we all have ideas of what we would add. In the UK probably a few tea bags too!
Everything painted yellow for easy identification when mixed in with the shop tools. Classic. Admittedly, my OCD wants to organize it better (all razor tools in one location, all gripping tools in one location, etc.)
The sizes of drills that are expressed with a decimal point are referred to as decimal sizes as compared with fractional sizes. There are also letter size drill bits and metric size drill bits.
Seemed pretty complete but no files! Gotta have a basic file or better yet a set of the assorted needle files that come in all kinds of different profiles, round, square, triangular etc... I really enjoy videos like this
Probably, but it reads more as flustered and nervous to me. He's said a bunch of times that he really isn't comfortable on camera, and he's very aware that he tends to ramble on, so he's constantly struggling to keep it in check so that the video stays a reasonable length
This is the perfect example of how different Jamie and Adam are. Jamie, your everyday toolbox. Adam, his has to be some epic steam punk, outer space, wild west thing he built himself.
Grimmsha72 have you seen Adam’s shop infrastructure build videos. While unique to his work mentality, they aren’t the fanciful objects you claim them to be. Check out his soldering station build.
He painted the tools(metal parts) yellow - might be to detect them easier in a pile of other tools or he just marked them, to see which ones are from his toolkit.
Surprised you didn’t have a JIS #2 screwdriver. Everything made overseas in Asian uses Japanese Industrial Standard 1,2,3. You’ll notice Phillips doesn’t quit fit the screws in most of your electronics? Use a JIS bit or screwdriver. Oh yes! Knipex is heavy industry standard hand tools- I love them. A full set of Knipex pliers are absolute must in anyone’s kit. Ahh. Electrical. If I didn’t have Fluke as my sponsor I’d have spent $45,000 on test apparatus alone.
Thank you. Very useful for organizing my to-go-box vs., the things I don't really need because I have that, "just in case" mind. I tend to carry everything possible.
I miss Jamie too! I miss his voice, mannerisms, rationalism, etc. Someone mentioned before, Adam is great but I could use a bit more Jamie! Thanks for posting this!
Adam said that Jamie had a set of tools in witch nobody was to use but him & I guess these are the tools , you can kinda tell because most if not all are marked in bright yellow paint . Hey don’t get me wrong but a mans tools are a mans tools & if you use some else’s tools you should return it to them the way you borrowed it from them & if you break it or tear it up you better buy a new one exactly the same tool no cheap knock off .
I am absolutely sure this kit is perfect the way it is - after all, there is considerable experience behind it - just a bit surprised there are something like 5 different screwdrivers in it - but no screws; there is a hammer - but not one single nail; there are drill bits - but no drill. Also, I expected some kind of glue and some cloth for emergency wiping ;) Once again, I'm sure these aren't in the kit because they don't need to be there - I just thought they would come handy :)
I think this was built specifically to be carted around a shop where those things are common - Other than the electrical tape, none of this is consumable. I was surprised by the lack of drill too, but I think based on the other tools in there, it'd be pretty beaten up and he would have to remember to recharge the battery.
Those little Channellock #424 ignition pliers are not unusual at all. And of course those 10 inch " Channekkocks " are actually WF made Craftsman flush joint tongue and groove pliers. Actually a bit higher quality than Channekkock in my experience, but sadly WF was just shut down last month.
They didn't work well together. They fought a lot of the time behind the scenes. Outside of mythbusters, they could be around each other and "work" together but mythbusters was a mess for the guys.
Yup. I saw an interview a long time ago where Adam says that outside of myth busters he didn’t spend any time with Jamie. He said that in over 10yrs of working they never had a dinner together.
@@12pandemon They DID work well together. They just didn't get along very well. They've each said that they complimented each other quite nicely in that they always challenged one another and their work would always benefit. They have mutual professional respect but are not friends.
My money is on a cordless drill. (M5 is all about getting ‘er done. And not about precision work. So a cordless drill seems like the obvious candidate.)
He’s sacrificing retrievability for mobility. Unlike Adam, Jamie still works in a huge shop and on sets so being able to move is crucial and having a well organized and spacious tool box at hand is a rare luxury. In Adams book he talks about how Jamie organizes his shop. All of one type of tool has a place in the shop. So I’m willing to bet this case is meant to keep him from having to walk miles a day for the perfect tool by keeping a selection of tools that are good enough at hand. I had to work similarly when I was a Maintenance tech in a large forge plant.
A finger print lock would get grimey with this type of work and they are easy to exploit (lock picking lawyer). And having to unlock something that is used often enough that he always it within reach would slow productivity. I'm sure he is happy to share tools with his shopmates, he just has to occassionally remind to replace what they take out.
I watch this video because I carry respect to experience of this man. However, compact impact driver could substitute a lot of these tools in better way. Also, I did not see multi-meter, tap measure and torch. finally, a lot of sold kits are more organized and compact.

John Donohoe 100% agree!
Also you can see them across the shop if someone else is using them.
Not what I expected to see uploaded but hey. You archived something beautiful.
Its really funny for jamie to just be like, this is like a gun, randomly
The sizes of drills that are expressed with a decimal point are referred to as decimal sizes as compared with fractional sizes. There are also letter size drill bits and metric size drill bits.
Not to mention number drills and left handed
Dude had been around a shop. Everything has a bit of yellow on it so he can tell that it's his.
i like how it cuts off when he goes on a tangent tilll he comes back to explaining whats inside lol
Knipex, man knows his tools.
That case is like a magicians hat.
You can do SOOO much with those chain wrenches. There is always a pair of those in the tool roll in the Jeep.
yessss even jamie loves knipex pliers!!!!!!! best in the world
JAIME NEEDS A TH-cam CHANNEL
IMPOSTER!! Almost had me fooled. Got all the way to the end and no mention of DUCT TAPE. Not the Jamie I know.

10:01 It's not much, but there is one.
That's what I was thinking. No real abrassives either
You can also cut small screws with the silver wire stripper. There are threaded holes on the head of the tool for it.
Jamie needs to switch to the decaff.

Yeah Adam’s shop infrastructure is a testament to efficiency of space and usability.
Ben Deem and yes the soldering station build was fantastic. I want one so bad. And that 12V little iron I have heard many good things about.
Do you get the feeling he's been waiting for years for someone to ask him about his toolbox?
Haven't we all?
He painted the tools(metal parts) yellow - might be to detect them easier in a pile of other tools or he just marked them, to see which ones are from his toolkit.
Looks like my toolbox from when I used to work on jukeboxes, pinball tables, and arcade games.
for adam '' if I did not have these tools I can't live!!!!!'' for Jamie '' oh, I got a case of tools I use"".

Looks like if the tool has yellow paint sprayed on it....don't lose it, it's Jamie's!
Also the zipties. My theory is that one identifies it as Jamies, the other as belonging to that toolkit.
