Removed on-screen info about the player you've just killed. Now you need to approach the corpse and select claim kill that will reward you extra fame points and drop the player's BCU with their name on it. - Googles answer to claim kills
I was under the impression that those improvised mines needed to be stepped on in order to detonate. With respect to the first mine that exploded, it looks like it was placed between the outer edge of those shelves. How does that work? I'm puzzled.
Do you carry your shovel with you everywhere or just keep a cheapo chest hidden in a bush somewhere to stash the shovel? ADDIT: I think this too might be basically obsolete now cause Gamespire changed now mines work? Meaning: don't your own mines now kill you if they are not inside a flag zone (or something like that)?

Good question Wade, this was so long ago I cant exactly remember if they were on or off. I prefer to play Official where they are on, but unfortunately Official servers arent very popular in my region so it very well could have been a modded server.

Claiming kill will show you who you killed if you're not on a bot server with kill feed. Also gain a little extra fp for claiming. But since you were such high fp & im assuming the guy had little to none when you killed him you didn't gain any extra fp.
